Reading, writing, dancing when able, ballet, dances from everywhere, Japan (I very seriously tried to get my mom to send me to Kyoto when I was 12 so I could start my Geisha training before I got too old), learning new things all the time, video games, manga/anime, documentaries, teaching myself crafts, mythology, Faerie and the stories and lore, Inari-kamisama and the zenko kitsune and their tenko form, fairy tales, Peter Pan (I love Tinkerbell for reasons relating to therapy, but Wendy Moira Angela Darling is my girl), I have a pixiebob named Journey, I have a rare autoimmune disease, I've been dying my hair every color under the sun for 16+ years and won't ever stop, even got professional training. I love Disneyland/Disney World, and can instantly revert to being 5 years old. I'm a major geek of most every discipline (except math, cannot math) full of random factoids, I love tattoos, have several, want to get more. I've been following (and having epically long wishlist of) Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab since high school, and I'm 34 now, so long time wishful lurker/stalker, new to actually owning perfumes and VERY new to the forums.

About Me

Part geek girl, part goth, part solitary witchy type, part Faerie and Kitsune touched, introverted in real life but currently medicated so have all the info, natural born rogue/healer in real life and RPGs. Damn my luck.

I'm a Taurus-Gemini cusp, with a Cancer moon and Leo rising, born in the year of the Earth Dragon.

I'm a VERY long time longing lurker of BPAL, since high school in fact, and I'm 34 now, but my collection is very small due to things like being on SSI.

I have a rare autoimmune disease, and a love for learning. My momma always encouraged it, continues to do so, and I've adapted the quote "All knowledge is worth having," as part of my personal creed.

Since I can't work, despite having trained in cosmetology and still dying my own hair every color under the sun for the past 16+ years or dying, cutting, etc hair for others, I try to teach myself crafts and things so I can remain busy and useful, such as starting to learn crochet, teaching myself origami, jewelry making, amateur closet costume making, and a friend is trying to get me back into painting (which I may have done before, but as someone with no natural artistic ability, I am having a harder time being motivated to reestablish that pastime) though I prefer, currently, coloring books. I just started teaching myself calligraphy.

My time is also filled with witchy things of a very old practice types I've learned on my own (tarort, witch's jars, herb lore, hedgewitchery, and I'm currently learning about the use of stones for the energetic vibrational uses, and plan to tackle rune stones and tea leaf readings as soon as I can find reliable sources), and essential oils, Bach flower essences, and homeopathy as learned at my mother's knee, who is a licensed and certified practitioner of various complementary healthcare disciplines. I also am part Native and grew up learning Anishinaabe practices, sacred medicine, ceremonies, culture, lore etc.

As far as non-science, medical, historical, or spiritual things I geek out about, I love reading, writing, dance (doing it, watching it, learning it, reading about it, all of it), video games, manga/anime, comics and graphic novels, fairy tales, faerie lore, so many fandoms. Many macabre things were my teething rings, gallows humor is my life blood, the arcane and taboo were my playground, and death related things, from various cultural relationships to it, practices both historical and modern, the psychology, mythology, all of it are as close as bedfellows.

I also have a deep, nearly lifelong relationship with Japanese history, culture, religion, philosophy, aesthetics, mythology and lore, and even the language (thank all the gods above and below for Duolingo, since my psudo-brother only paid for 2 semesters of cont ed Japanese classes before we went there a couple years ago, thank you Micah,) and tried to convince my momma to send me to live in Kyoto back when I was like 12 because I was "almost too old to start my Geisha training," and the idea of striving to be a living work of art was like a dream. (Between stumbling upon My Neighbor Totoro at age 5 in my middle of nowhere tiny town library in northern Wisconsin, my grandparent's extensive world travels before my birth and their many belongings from these countries, including Japan, and my brother letting me borrow Shogun when I was 10, thus spurring my interest in more than the fantastical aspects into overdrive, I've spent years reading about their history, culture, mythology etc, and my trip over there, while awful due to traveling companions, was a highly emotional, spiritual, fulfilling and remarkable journey, only solidifying my love and respect and admiration, as well as my desire to continue to learn and understand more.)

I feel like that's enough about me to either spark your interest into a conversation, or soooo much more than needed that you feel the need to back away slowly.

Either way, that will do for now.
