Obtained an imp in 2018, & left a review on the main site, "how do you make things smell wet??" Haha But now I have a bottle, 2020. The birch is an interesting scent I'm glad to have encountered. This one right out of the bottle smells like wet, juicy apples, & fragrant apple blossoms, all growing by birch trees, & a clear stream nearby with the sweetest water you've ever tasted. Not overpowering either. That's the impression I get when wearing this. Totally balanced, & it's slightly grassy towards the end, too.

    Grand Guignol: Thanatos

I obtained this in 2018. It has become so deep & delicious smelling. Mouth watering, herbal Frankincense going hand in hand with beeswax, while opoponax & bourbon vanilla dance around in the background, but lend more depth to the beeswax. Very slowly the black tea leaf, & rosewood come forward to waltz while the rest dances circles in my head... In a good way! My overall impression is a sweet, herbal bubble gum, can't stress that enough. I wonder if this is what ancient Egyptian breath mints smelled a hint like as they had frankincense in it. It's playful, herbal, grounded, slight wax that makes it chewy. As it dries it just gets more intense to me. A nice rarity to come across!

Another bottle I never reviewed. Bought in 2018. I rarely touch this one, but mostly prefer when my wife puts it on. Her chemistry works well with this; turns to a smooth, creamy incense with a dark secret underneath. On my skin, however, it doesn't seem to change into a deeper or richer scent. It stays the same as in the bottle. As for what it smells like, in the bottle it is spiced incense with something creamy just barely there. I get sandalwood, but you know I'm probably one of those silly people that can't detect notes well. Lol & as I don't see it listed I'll guess. On my skin, the creamy note fades fast & I'm left with faded incense like I walked into an old temple that had ceremonies for decades. Not bad, & I do love it dearly, but I've not acquired a taste for it. It does bring memories of casting spells with my wife, & that is truly special to me.

Can't believe I never left a review for this. I bought it back in 2018. It's syrupy & silky to put on. In the bottle it is a pool of flowers & woods, almost sweet & candy-like. I can't pin down what that taste/scent is I'm getting. But I do know the dogwood, violet, & pine are giving it that sweet candy smell. Over time the other wood notes become prominent. This has great throw & length. Overall, I get two impressions. One is riding a horse buggy down a lovely wooded & shaded road with wild flowers & ivy growing everywhere. I also get a clean & scented bathroom smell. Not a bad bathroom smell at all. I don't think this one fits well for my more masculine presenting days, as much as I adore it. Definitely a femme smell.

Received as an imp. I'm in love with this one. The patchouli is so fragrant, & deep. The frankincense & sandalwood give this one a lot of body too. Will most likely buy a bottle in the future.

    Half-Elf

Received as an imp. A gently spiced incense. Nice! Light, airy, unisex. Doesn't seem like it lasts long tho. Small throw, so I imagine people will appreciate not being overpowered by it.

    Lust

Received as an imp. I think the Ylang Ylang is lending that fruity smell. I get the patchouli & red musk up front, followed by Ylang Ylang. The myrrh is giving so much body to this, it carries everything nicely. Deep, rich, slight hint of floral.

    Thieves' Rosin

Received as an imp. I smell resins, maybe that's copal overpowering it. Airy resins, perhaps some sandalwood in there too. Sorry, babe. This one kind of turns my stomach.

    Baron Samedi

Received as an imp. I was surprised to see this was Bay Rum, a note I'm not keen on, because I don't pick that up at first. I smell almond & warmth, but as it dries I get the spiced bay rum note more. I'd buy a bottle.

    Anathema

Received as an imp. I think the lab knows what scent I like best. Lol! Sweet opium. Gotta have plenty of those in the perfume/oil box. ❤️ The vetivert & honeysuckle plays well, & deepens the opium. The honeysuckle is light, but right there up front. Almost powdery, yet everything is distinguished. I much enjoy this one. It's refreshing.

Old Demons of the First Class

Received as an imp. An interesting list of ingredients that blend together smoothly. The musk is nice, but the black pepper really livens up this scent. The black clove, opoponax, & neroli brings it a ritual incense scent. I think this is the first time I've had a scent with Tonka, super exciting! This is overall a grounded, rich, slightly sweet & deep scent. Would definitely order a bottle.

    Darkness

Sweet, sweet opium, warmed up by Narcissus, & given depth by the myrrh. Really impressed with the warmth this smell sends out. I was expecting a floral, but not at all. Classy, sophisticated, almost like incense. A melt away scent! *This has become a GC favorite of mine. I'm usually inclined towards LEs so this really is knocking my socks off. I can't stop wearing it. & it has some similarities to La Petite Mort, too, which I'm finding fantastic as a toned down alternative on softer days.

    La Petite Mort

This smells amazing. Flushed skin, like cherry & almond. Reminds me of Coyote, except more sensual & intimate, more grown-up. The ylang-ylang & myrrh do make this luxurious, & expensive smelling. Really has great throw, & lengthy wear. Totally unisex to my nose. Plan to strike an air of mystery when I wear this one.

    Robin Goodfellow

Received as an imp. Oh I am head over heels. Woods, damp Earth, moss, deep musk. I see golden beams when I sniff this one. Saw it is currently out of stock. That's a shame, but thank goodness for the restock notification.

    Krampus

I agree with Three Moons. It is like an anti-christmas. I've been falling in love with this bottle the longer I have it. Smells so sweet, leathery, & dusty. I'm not a participant in Xmas, but I plan to wear this one a lot.

    Sea of Grief

Had to let mine age a bit before I left a comment. The few times I've worn it I smelled carrot seed mostly, with a faint lavender. However, I applied it today, giving it a good swirl first to mix up those oils. Wow, this is so musky & feminine! Very far throw, intense when applied. Haha I think I should have used a bit less. It has so many scents in it that blend together nicely, but right now I feel like I'm in a Victorian powder room or fainting room; Elegant & full of flower bouquets, luxurious perfumes being sprayed. I'm in love with this thought/impression.

    Krampus

I have the 2013 version from the Etsy store. Loving the red musk & leather. I get a hint of the woods. As for the rags, I could swear I smell a fabric note, but maybe not. LoL Feels like a Winter & Spring scent.

    Like the Very Gods

This one is a shifter. Smells different every time I sniff it. In the bottle there is that lovely incense note, white sandalwood, mixing so well with the orris butter. I also smell the honeyed olive blossoms. The vanilla cedar is so gentle, it's almost ghostly. Not picking up much musk at first, but as it fades it starts to come out. Overall, the smell is gentle, but maybe my nose has been sniffing too long. Haha

    Könnt Ihr So Verwegen Handeln

Received this as a decant. Smells beautiful. Something grassy/herbal going on with it that I enjoy. Slight soap, powder, but I get the orange blossoms mostly. I wish I could get that labdanum smell more. Anywho, it's a winner!

    Lacus Solitudinis

It smells faintly like "An Excerpt from Speculum Heroicum Principis Omnium Temporum Poëtarum Homeri". Has to be the cedar & oud recreating that scent. Has a powdery, woodsy finish. Something strong & masculine stands out, can't place the note. Oh wow, I get a little man musk from this, smells like a sexy armpit. Haha! Ooh la la
  21. Rane.

    Oblivion

Wow, smells so darn good! I smell every note it seems. Woody musk, masculine, spiced just right, a little powdery. Great throw too! A must have for the BPAL collector.

    Flowering Peonies

This really is an explosion of peonies. I want to like it, but it's too floral for me. It's not bad, it's simply too strong for me. Smells like one of those plug-in air fresheners. Kind of tropical to me, so if you like that it will be perfect for you. Planning to swap this one.

    The Sun Rising

Too much going on with this one for me. I wore it & it smelled like plastic, with orange blossom & mandarin. I know that the saffron & bergamot are the contributors to this one not getting along with my nose or body chemistry. Guess this one is not for me.

    Discarded Sandal

Interesting scent. I can smell the black pine, hinoki wood, & juniper all creating this kind of damp forest layer. Fading out, the beeswax, tolu balsam & muguet blend, come up front. I like wearing this one because I can identify/smell every note this contains.

    Butterfly Dancer

This one is divine! Smells exactly like this LE body wash I used to buy a lot of. Flowery, warm, blushed. That rose sandalwood is something I've never encountered before, but I can tell that is a major note singing in this wonderful scent. The red oud & sweet vetiver is heavenly too!
