    Cinnamon girl...

And Satyr is good for the spring, I think. It smells like a forest god in hot pursuit of his mate. 'kay, scratch spring and make it fall. That's when the deer are getting it on.

    The Sportive Sun

The Sportive Sun is hot, dry, and rich. It reminds me of grasses drying in the sun. It's a little sweet, yet also earthy. It's a strong scent, very powerful. Quite delicious and heated. Faerygirl's review - Laying down in the sun in a giant bucket of almonds! It is quite rich. done

    Two, Five & Seven

Yummy roses! But then I got the Jolly Rancher scent on the drydown. Faerygirl says "MMM! I'm in the middle of a rose garden!" She gets the imp.

    Come to Me

I agree that the scent is very clean - like a nice soap. But as it dries down, the commanding essence emerges. Perhaps that soapy bit is a clean your aura type thing. After, I felt like a Southern Lady - the kind one says ma'am to. The kind of Lady that good ol' boys feel compelled to hold doors for, the kind young fellers tip their hats to and wouldn't even consider not following her wishes. It's very queenly, this blend. In an ultrafeminine way. I can smell how it's compelling. It's just not forceful. It's more of a womanly power sort of thing. A goddess that you cannot help respecting, liking, and wanting to be around. Scarlett O'hara without the sex kitten bit. There's nothing innocent nor overtly sexual about this blend. It just - is. Hmm... perhaps this is the scent of a Mother Confessor from Terry Goodkind's tales. ETA - When I wore this to a wedding, traffic crowded around me, and so did the people at the wedding. I have a bit of people claustrophobia, so I think I'll be passing this one on.

    Morella

This is such a soft, soft scent. Like sinking down into a very comfortable pillow encased in pastel flannel. It reminds me a lot of The Raven, but without The Raven's sadness. It's sweet and gentle - civet is certainly only a hint in this blend. Morella makes me want to cuddle in big deep comforters and feel warm on a chilly fall day. Yes, it's like staying in bed all morning with a good book. It's that comfortable. Faerygirl's review: Very interesting. It's spicy. I like it. Thumbs up!!

    Vegan Oils

Thanks for the clarification, Ahania! I wrote about my own honey practices in the "Sweet Honey" thread, if anyone is interested. But it didn't belong here. So, I'm assuming the "leather" and "milk" notes are also Beth's amazing scent creations? She can really do some incredible things.

    Vegan Oils

Why do vegans have a problem with honey and beeswax? Do they also have issues with wool? I don't know anyone who is a vegan, so I'm just curious and would like to better understand this perspective. I must add that the Lab's musks and civet are amazing! And you can indulge in them with no guilt whatsoever.

    Red Moon 2007

Red Moon has the same subtle lunar oils as Crow Moon, which I'm finding make me mildly headachy. Otherwise, it's a nice summery scent. The lunar oils, though, make it chillier than I would expect - a summer night as opposed to a summer day. I think this would be the perfect scent to wear for Lammas/Lughnasadh.

    Oberon

At first, I loved this scent, because it reminded me of my favorite smell in the world... dryer sheet exhaust. But on my skin, it quickly dissolved to soap. It smells much nicer on Faerygirl, but for some reason, I can't remember the scent at all.

    Titania

This is a fizzy fruit drink, a sweet tart, a Pez dispenser. It's light and fun, a spritzer on a summer day! Not really for me - it starts to smell sort of artificial. On the Faerygirl, though, it's perfect. The peach and fruits are truer to their natural counterparts. She smells lovely.

    Satyr

When I first tried it though, I thought, "sweet!" because I was amping the dragon's blood. Then it was sweet and cinnamon. Then it was vetivert-musk and dragon's blood and cinnamon. Oh yeah, this is a sexy scent! Lots of cinnamon, that is true. But not cinnamon like Big Red Gum. No, this is down and dirty cinnamon. Smells like the Horned God is ready to rut. Actually, it reminds me of the smell I get from the trees in my woods where the deer have rubbed their antlers... Very appropriate for a satyr. One of my absolute favorites.

    Puck

My lovely adopter let me have an imp of this wondrous stuff. Puck is amazing. It's rich, deep, and yet light enough to be feminine on me. I think civet is fabulous. I really wish this were not a discontinued blend! I will be seeking out a bottle, hoping that there's still an unloved or less-liked one out there waiting to find someone who will adore it.

    Rose Red

This is the rose's rose! It smells like a fresh rose all day long! I, too, get the hand-soap roses effect, but not with this one. And this rose is not a "girly" rose. It's a true, magical, garden rose. The kind that will resist Japanese beetles and make big rose hips. Many thanks to my "adopter" for letting me try this one!

    Fallen

If this is what Hell smells like, I think I'd like to go there. On me, this scent is delicious smoky incensey hint of flowers and a richness I find hard to describe. Doesn't smell evil at all. Then again, I like vetivert and violet and musk and sandalwood... Just wonderful. It does go a little soapy at the end. But then - the VETIVERT! Yeah, I like that stuff. And the violets seem to go with it. On the Faerygirl, it smells sweeter. Faerygirl says "I like it on me but not on my mother".

Campfires, bonfires, fireplaces, burning wood and leaves...

On my lover, Loviatar smelled like the air at a re-enactment (settlers and Indians type) in the fall - woodsmoke and leather.

I want to smell like Kauai

Pele, to me, smelled just like an orchid farm I visited in Maui near Io Needle. Also, try Black Pearl for a beachy scent. And Jolly Roger has that salty sea scent. I wonder what would happen if you layered Pele and Jolly Roger?

Black Opal and other stone, mineral type scents

Hee! I clicked on "what to wear to a rock show" actually thinking it was about going to the rock shows I mentioned above. Shows where my mind is, I guess. Er, rather, where it is not.

Looking for any Harry Potter scent recommendations

I'm tellin' ya, GROG smells just like BUTTERBEER!

Black Opal and other stone, mineral type scents

So, the Faerygirl is into rocks. We go to the occasional rock show and we visit our favorite rock shop on a regular basis. What do you recommend as the proper perfume for surrounding oneself with stones, gems, minerals, and fossils?

    Loup Garou

This is a most delicious conifer forest scent. It's got the proper earthiness, unlike its kin Black Forest, which smells more like pine cleaner to me. Loup Garou is a wolf rolled in pine needles, and the smell of waking up the next morning with the sun-warmed dry needles prickling into your newly naked human skin. So rich and redolent of the woodsy adventures you must have had in the night. It is the smell of being lost in the forest - there is a slight panicky feeling in there. I suppose it depends on if you see yourself as the hunted or the hunter when you wear this scent. It is NOT a safe perfume. It is feral, and dangerous. Most chillingly delicious.

    Tiger Lily

Tiger Lily smells blatantly like lilies - sweet and orange and slightly wild. On me, it smelled strongly of lily and stayed that way for a very long time. 'Tis a most powerful flower. Rather yummy.

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info

It went! I wonder if I had typed in an extra space or something? Thanks, Macha, for encouraging me to try again! And thanks to Bill at the Lab for fixing my problem!

Who do I email with questions? BPAL/BPTP contact info

I'm worried - I tried to send a message to the lab twice and got "failure" messages. I need to get hold of the lab immediately because PayPal sent them the wrong mailing address for me and I'm afraid I won't get my order! What do I do now??

    Jolly Roger

This is the smell of the sea! It's very salty and delicious in a wild oceanic way. If I had a signature scent as a pirate maiden, this would be it. This scent is a little less aggressive than Calico Jack and Anne Bonny, but it is all ocean. I couldn't help loving the smell of salt on my skin. It made me so heartsick for the sea.

    Grog

Grog smells like butterscotch! I wasn't sure I wanted to smell like butterscotch, but I must admit that it is the perfect Butterbeer scent for Harry Potter fans. So I wore it to the movie. Surprisingly, the warming and chemistry from my skin made it rather lickable. Eventually, the scent sweetened somewhat, but still had that butterscotchy flavor. It was fun. Definitely a fun and playful scent.
