    Unspeakably Evil Temple Atmosphere Spray

How have I not reviewed this one yet?! This is one of my favorite atmosphere sprays the Trading Post sells. It's all dark, rich resins, and grey/black smoke. Vetiver isn't listed but I get something that smells like it. This is the smoke from ritualistic incense, and it's not like the incense of Midnight Mass, this smells far more sinister. If this came in a perfume oil, I would wear it. Love for-evah!

    Hippie Ghost

When I first applied, Hippie Ghost is a clean linen. It's not the type that's been drowned in obnoxious fabric softener, but the type that's been hand washed and hung to dry outside. There's a fresh, airy quality to this. In the background I can detect the smallest bit of suede. As it dries, the leather note fades entirely, the patchouli comes through at this point. It really does smell patchouli-stained. It's the memory of a patchouli oil, faded and dry. With the fluttering, pale linen note I really am getting the impression of a hippie ghost. It's perfect. I love this.

O Love and Time and Sin

When first applied, this is almost entirely red musk on my skin with a hint of rose. Lookingglass mentioned that the rose was "syrupy" and that's my impression too. It almost has a honeyed quality to it. As it dries. it's a battle for the top! I amp both rose and musk and they sure duke it out for first place. In the end, musk beats rose…but only by a hair! This is an incredibly sexy, red rose incense. I may need to track down a bottle, this is exactly how I like my rose.

    When Stars are Weeping

Just reviewing this before I swap it away. When Stars Are Weeping was the same musk from Glittering Apple from the Stars and a watery honeysuckle. Light and airy musk + honeysuckle. It reminds me of springtime and unfortunately, my mother. When I smell this my heart breaks into a million pieces and I want to cry. Honeysuckle also doesn't work very well on my skin. This is gorgeous, just not my type of scent and the scent association is far too sad for me.

    The Grand Inquisitor's Heretic's Fork

This starts out with an almost honey-like sweetness, which I'm assuming is the blood note. As it dries, the smokiness of the vetiver comes out. The sweetness from the blood note tempers the vetiver and keeps it from getting too aggressive. When I inhale deeply my nose fills with a mentholated coolness giving the impression of cold metal but not actually smelling metallic. It's so interesting! The final dry down is a soft, honey-kissed vetiver with what I can only assume is menthol. This is fantastic. If you have a chance to try this, please do!

    Rapture

Out of the vial this is all jasmine to my nose. Unfortunately, it's not the type of jasmine I can wear but rather my arch nemesis...band-aids and diaper flowers. On my skin this is ALL indole and maybe a bit of rose. I want to keep testing this but I need to wash it off. :/

    Kyoto

In the vial this is all black licorice anise. When first applied to my skin, it's still a delicious, sweet smelling anise. Black licorice is my absolute favorite candy in the whole world. In fact, just today I bought a bag of those sugar-dusted old fashioned black licorice hard candies, Kyoto smells like those taste. As it dries, the cherry blossom peeks through in the background. The soft, pink floral is such an interesting contrast against the dominant anise! I never would have thought to put these notes together but, they work! The final dry down is black licorice with a breeze of cherry blossoms.

    Mr. Jacquel

In the vial this is a patchouli with a dusting of baking spices. When first applied, it's still mostly patchouli and a warm, powdery softness of the amber. There's this candle from Yankee Candle that I absolutely love called "Kitchen Spice", the melange of spices in Mr. Jacquel remind me a lot of that. I get a hint of clove, cinnamon, perhaps cardamon? The final dry down is a spiced-kissed patch, it smells a bit like a gentler version of All Night Long. It's surprisingly mild and is more of a close-to-the-skin type of scent. I'm a little disappointed, I was hoping for this to be a l lot louder than it is. Beautiful, just too faint on my skin. I much prefer All Night Long.

    Hastur

When first applied, Hastur is all patchouli and the same labdanum I associate with The Medicine Show. It has a smoky, antique resin thing going on. As it dries the labdanum just keeps amping. 10 minutes later a gorgeous khus note appears. This scent isn't wet and smoky but more dry and papery to my nose. It's the smell of old wallpaper in a decaying darkroom. My grandfather was a photographer and this is the exact scent of his darkroom years after he stopped developing photos. Not the impression I was expecting but still nonetheless gorgeous. I'll be using all of my imp for sure.

    Black Taffeta

Echoing what a lot of people have already said, Black Taffeta is completely different in the bottle/wet than it is dry. Wet, this is almost unbearable bitter and funky (and for someone who loves dark and bitter scents). Have you ever had candy or food that had too much purple or red food coloring in it? This smells like that tastes. It's that sharp, uncomfortable and jarring bitterness that makes your mouth pucker and wince. It's dark and ink-like and so acrid smelling I was almost too afraid to put it on my skin. However, I did it anyway and I'm sure glad I did. The note listing is too perfect to pass up. As it dries, the bitterness slowly subsides revealing the true beauty of this perfume. I'm also realizing the uncomfortable top note I was smelling is probably the geranium. After about 5 minutes on the skin, its nearly gone, allowing a thick, beautiful black musk to come through. I'm also getting the Lab's amazing opium tar note that I love so much. This really does smell BLACK. In the background I can still detect the tiniest shimmer of geranium bitterness. It's enough to give these dark and dusty resins a shiny feeling. It really gives you the impression of an old, aged swath of black taffeta. I'll never stop being amazed at how Beth can do that! Black Taffeta is such a special scent and I'm really glad I have a bottle, it reminds me a bit of a darker version of Romati.Goth. It's got a really good throw and lasts all day on my skin. A few dabs from a wand cap behind the ears is all I need, no slathering needed, this stuff is strong! Black musk and resin fans, this is a holy grail scent!

    Oblivion

I'm not sure why Oblivion hasn't hit my radar until now, it's totally the type of scent I love and it's full of win notes. In the vial the color of this oil is actually a dark olive green. It's a little darker than Hemlock. On my skin wet, I'm getting wood notes with the slightest hint of balsam or something coniferous. There's also a healthy dose of musk. I'm absolutely loving this experience right now. As it dries, I amp the musk. When I inhale deeply there's s tingly mossy-like sharpness on the edge of the musk and wood notes. Im laying in a thick, dimly lit forest, I smell pine sap, incense, moss and maybe the memory of an extinguished fire in the distance. This is a bold Viking-like scent. I can see why folks would say this is a masculine blend but this is something more suited for a warrior woman or even someone with a pure heart and strong personality like Kahlan from the Sword of Truth series. I am in love with Oblivion. Love love love.

    Agnes Nutter

Monster Agnes Nutter 4 eva! This is smells exactly like charred wood, ashes and smoke from a dying campfire. Note wise, it's all dry wood and gorgeous vetiver. I could get lost in the scent, it's so perfect. Why do I not have a bottle of this?! If you're a super fan of vetiver this is a must-have.

    Furo

Furo starts out as bergamot black tea with a squish of lemon and dries to red patch and black tea. The throw of this one is low and my skin eats it up after only 30 minutes of wear. If it stuck around a little longer this may have been a win for me. I still prefer White Rabbit as a tea scent though.

    Beauty, the Aggrieved

Out of the vial this is straight up white rose and resins. The resins have almost a cedar-like quality to them. I'm probably going to love this one. On my skin, this is GORGEOUS. It's mostly tobacco and smoldering rose resins. Beauty is smoky and dangerous smelling. The final dry down stage, it remains unchanged. A perfect rose incense with tobacco.

    Alice, the Reaper of Cruelty

Out of the vial this is somewhat medicinal smelling. It's sweet and sharp at the same time. On my skin, still medicinal geranium with the sweetness of peach. I think the combination of geranium, raspberry leaf and bergamot is making this smell like cough syrup on me. It's somewhat stomach turning unfortunately Dry, the spicy carnation comes out but it's still not enough to tame the Robitussn accord the other notes are making. This one isn't for me. I think geranium may be a bad note on my skin. :/

    The Future Ball

YES! The Future Ball is the exact type of scent I like to wear. It's the Lab's perfect church incense with a kiss of rose. I amp rose to high heaven (heh), as this dries, it blossoms on my skin turning Future Ball into a smoldering rose incense. If you like Midnight Mass, Rose Cross or All Souls you'll love this one.

Diary of a Lovestruck Teenage Cannibal

Whenever I open this bottle I'm completely turned off by how unsettling it's first impression is (that could be the point though). However, the dry down is gorgeous and it's what keeps me coming back when I'm in an especially playful mood. Out of the bottle, I get a fizzy grapefruit note that's reminiscent of cleaning fluid or bathroom spray and sweetness from the candy floss note. When first applied to the skin it's a spicy pink pepper, grapefruit and candy-floss. My skin eats up the citrus notes after a short time leaving a spiced cupcake scent on my skin. After about 10 minutes, Teenage Cannibal remains unchanged, just a pepper/ginger spiced vanilla cupcake scent. mmmmm

    Fighter

My boyfriends D&D character is a Fighter, which is why I tested it on him. His first reaction to the scent was "leather and blood" without having me prompt him with the note listing. He nailed it! (we high fived ). Oh his skin this is mostly soft brown De Sade-esque leather with a splatter of blood. In the background I'm getting the steel which feels bright and shimmering. After about 10 minutes it's almost a single leather note on him. I'm with Udit, this makes my man smell incredibly sexy…and as I'm finishing this review he's already running over to swipe it from me and stick it in his dice bag. lol

    Boo Hair Gloss

I just love the Trading Posts hair gloss. My hair is incredibly thick, just about waist-length and 100% unruly. After a few spritzs of gloss, my medusa hair is tamed to straight silk. All of the HGs I have right now are resin or patchouli based (since those are the types of scents I wear most often, they layer well with my perfume). However, I've started wearing more foodie scents lately and needed a gloss that would layer with those scents…behold, BOO! I've always really liked the Boo perfume oil so I knew I was going to love this gloss. In my hair, this is straight up candy floss and vanilla cream OMGSOGOOD! I can't smell the cotton note at all, it's definitely more prominent in the perfume oil than it is in the HG (which is fine by me). After settling into my hair for a few minutes, it starts smelling very similar to Midway. Yeah, uhhh…I kinda wanna eat my hair right now. Overall, this stuff is pretty much the most delicious hair gloss I've tried, even rivaling Silky Bat. I will cherish my bottle.

    Bliss in the Pumpkin Patch

Wow! Unexpectedly delightful! Thank you to a forum friend for giving this to me. ^^ I'm not a fan of the scent Bliss, I find it to be stomach turning and I wouldn't think to pair it with pumpkin. However, this works! On my skin I have a delicious chocolate-dipped spiced pumpkin. It reminds me a lot of those to-die-for Pumpkin Truffles Godiva releases every year around this time.

    Peach VII

I got this bottle from a swap with a lovely forumite. I'm so so happy to finally have my hands on a bottle of this. Out of all the peaches, it was the one that intrigued me most. Peach VII definitely doesn't disappoint. This is a perfect, DRY peach with black musk (one of my favorite musks). This peach isn't juicy or bright. Instead, it feels warm, soft and subdued. Balame mentioned tobacco and I swear I'm getting a bit of tobacco in here as well. As it dries, my skin amps the peach note (I amp most fruit notes). I'm left with a peach in the foreground and the almost incense-like back musk and spices in the background. Absolutely gorgeous!

    Hearts for Ghost Friends

Out of the vial this is indolic white flowers, my death note. However, I'm committed to stepping outside of my perfume comfort zone so here goes the skin test! Wet on my skin, yep, indole. It's such a distraction but underneath I think I can pick out a bit of white rose and maybe the white musk? After a few minutes of letting this dry and madly huffing my arm, trying to drown out the sounds of my brain screaming "DIAPERS! BAND-AIDS! DIAPERS! AHHH!", I start to pick out the sweetness and tenderness of the white floral notes. There's a bit of spicy carnation in here as well along with a beautiful base of white musk and sandalwood. This is definitely a white floral dominant scent. It's supremely feminine and lady-like. There's also a classic perfume vibe to this. It's not my style at all, but I can appreciate it for the story behind it's creation (I totally teared up while reading it).

    Very Pink Surprise Cake

Woah! 'A Very Pink Surprise Cake' definitely makes a bold first impression! This has the Lab's classic cake note that we all go crazy for along with buttercream frosting and a kiss of strawberry. The berry isn't dominant, instead it's juuuuuust enough to make your brain think PINK. I agree with the comparison to 'I Fell In Love With A Floating Brain', except AVPSC is more simplistic. I'm with Duskinhereyes, I don't think this smells like Sprinklecake since it doesn't have chocolate in it. This is very simply, a hyper sweet, strawberry cake. Foodies! Come hither!

    Pumpkin Lace

In the bottle I'm getting pumpkin, spice and lots of tobacco. I can already tell I'm going to love this. On the skin, when first applied I get a strong burst of fleshy pumpkin (for literally like 3 seconds), it then settles into a warm, spiced pumpkin. Is there ginger in this? I swear I'm getting ginger, it's got a little Shub-Niggurath thing going on. After about 10 minutes, the sandalwood, cognac and tobacco join together, creating a beautiful, lacy web for the spiced pumpkin note. I think I'm getting clove in here as well, but that may be my nose playing tricks on me. I absolutely love how all of the lace scents really do, somehow smell "lacy". This is classic feeling, delicate and orange. The tobacco isn't as prominent as it is in Autumn Lace and it's not as spiced as Mourning Lace. I'd say it's somewhere in-between the two with the addition of a pumpkin note. If you liked either of those scents I highly recommend you pick up a bottle of this before they're gone forever. I think I may need to pick up an additional bottle myself.

    The Inn Atmosphere Spray

Banana bread smothered in nuts and brown sugar. The inn is definitely owned by Dwarves…I can smell their flagons of ale in the background. This is such a comforting scent, I really hope it makes it to the GC of Atmosphere Sprays. Beer, breakfast, bananas, yeast and baked goods. What's not to love? (Side note: There is an Etsy store I'm obsessed with called Purple Cat Creatives. She makes a body butter called Bohemian Lager that smells a lot like this!)
