    Spooky

I now have a 5ml bottle of this thanks to the kindest person, to whom I am ever so grateful I've had it on for 6 hours [at the time of posting] and it is lovely. For some reason, my initial reaction to it, was that it reminded me of Snow White. Clephan suggested it's because it has the same gentle quality to it and yes, I have to say that captures it exactly. I've had two compliments on it today already - both said it smelt like cocoa butter! I don’t know what cocoa butter these people are using, but I want some! I can smell the mint/coconut scent but it is also very smooth smelling with a slightly floral note to it, even though I know there is nothing floral in it. It really is lovely, although it's not knocking Snake Oil or Haunted off my top favourites. It hasn’t changed much at all from the bottle to the skin for me and is still going strong at 6 hours

    Incapacitated for a day.

*crosses legs and ties ankles together* and I thought I had it bad with a sadistic nurse at my last smear test Eeep. Poor Elizabeth. Hope it passes quickly and your bits are happier and pain free afterwards. xxx

    Incapacitated for a day.

You are more important than an email. A couple more days to wait for a reply wont hurt. Hope its nothing too leg-crossing and that it all goes smoothly. Take care xxx

    Email replies. Delay notice.

You have my deepest sympathies! Speaking from experience of 10+ reinstalls of Win2000 over the course of 18 months I feel your frustration. On WinXP now, which is *touches wood* fine. But then, the installation a new hard-drive may be the reason for the blasted thing finally working! Microsoft Hope it fixes the problem, else stomping on it might work as a stress-relieving therapy

Elizabeth, thought I'd mention that on the website, in the Mad Tea Party section, the forum link links to the old URL, not this one. Sorry for being anal

Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

Oooh yes, Rose Red would be lovely! But my bottle will have gone off by then That is a lovely idea I forgot about Bridesmaid gifts - luckily I only have the one then! That is very good advice. If I couldn't afford a custom scent I am tempted to go with good old Snake Oil. My favourite.

Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

I am curious about recommendations for this too (getting married 03 Sept 2005 ). I was going to save for a custom scent for the day but on top of all the other things I have to save for I might not be able to afford it.

    International Orders

Hi, sorry to bother you Elizabeth, but I emailed an order to you on 30th Jan, then, as I hadn't heard anything and I wanted to add stuff to it, again with an update on 5th Feb. I then sent an email about it on the 16th Feb. Did you get any of them? They also had a request about the Random LJ contest that I won - to include that in the order to save on postage... If not, I will try to make an order via the website instead.

Hullo, update, and a welcome to Brian!

Elizabeth, please dont burn out with all this Please make some time for relaxation Hi Brian Edited to add: Brian your screen name made me laugh (sorry! ), reminded me of an Eddie Izzard sketch about the Corinthians - "the corinthians letter back to st paul ... chapters 1 to a MILLION, more letters to follow...... love and kisses the corinthians. steve corinthian, jonathan corinthian..." hehe

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

That is really useful to know, thanks, Koumori Btw, your avatar is lovely. My fiancé loves hedgehogs - my first gift to him when we were first going out was a small fluffy hedgehog, unfortunately I found out later that every other gf had done similar before Quinkel, that is a good idea, I am trying to save my gorgeous Rose Red and this is a good way of being frugal

    Rose Red

Thanks to fellow forumite, Donnababe, I now possess a 5ml bottle of this gorgeous scent. I didn't know I could love a rose perfume so much! For me it smells exactly like the perfect rose - uncut from the bush, in the open (morning) air. I often find rose scents to smell less fresh and more shop-stale if that makes sense? Once on the scent's freshness intensifies, more so than in the bottle. And it keeps getting better and better - the longevity is wonderful and still strong after 8 hours. Thank you Elizabeth you have created a utterly amazing scent once again – please, please bring it back next Yule

    Before I go...

Have a wonderful break yes, everything will be fine when you get back... things can only get better surely? Take care and enjoy yourself - you deserve it!
  16. Eclipse is gorgeous! Very much almond! As a almond scent lover I heartily recommend this. Haven't tried Gluttony, but I am looking forward to it - sounds wonderful. Vice also has a chocolatey scent from what I remember, haven't tried that either. Useless, aren't I?

I need help with a database.

I would love to say "I can happily do it for you", but I am entering last semester of (computing) degree and all my brain power (what little is left) must be directed towards that. If you were to ask in July I would jump at the chance.... but I'm sure there are plenty of people on here capable right now . Sorry I would have loved to help out.

    Site update.

LMAO. Ditto!!! And I only emailed my order off two days ago now I want to add more to it!!! Must... resist.... must.... Update: Oh blast, I've just seen Jolly Roger Sea spray with an undercurrent of leather, Bay Rum, and salty, dry woods!. These are my two must try new scents... oh and all of the seven deadly sins... *squeak*

    Jack

This scent makes me have two opposite reactions. Initially, for a few seconds, I love it (spicy, warm and definitely very foody - seasoned pumpkin)... and then almost immediately afterwards something else kicks in (starts to have an slight smell of smelly socks to me! ) and I cant get the lid on fast enough This is the only one I've smelt so far that I really cannot abide. I'm so sorry Elizabeth. Nasty nose of mine.

    Black Rose

This is the first scent I ever sniffed (and wore) of BPAL and I still hold it in great affection. Initial impressions in the bottle other than the rose, is of a slight chlorine smell! Very bizarre! However, once on, that chlorine smell goes completely (thankfully) and then it reminds me of the smell of roses in a closed-up musty room, a room with wooden, dusty floorboards and sheets over the furniture. Yes, it is mostly roses (what do you expect with such a name?) but the hint of musk give the scent a still and quiet quality. Truly beautiful and peaceful scent. Longevity? About average, a top-up may be required during the day.

    Eclipse

Eclipse in the bottle, for me, is: Almonds! It is also very strong in the bottle, so sniff it gently or your nose may not thank you! Once on, the pure almond smell is complimented with subtle wafts of sweet vanilla and warming cinnamon – so quite a foody scent overall. A warming, golden sunshine scent - think of sitting on a porch outside a kitchen cooking loads of almond cookies watching the sun go down with a beautiful red horizon! It lasted reasonably well, but not as long as others such as Haunted. A top up may be needed during the day. I wear this after washing with Lush's (Christmas limited edition) Snowcake soap, as I believe they compliment each other perfectly.

    Haunted

Haunted works amazingly well for me. It's almost overpowering in the bottle but settles down once applied. The amber and musk combination works wonderfully (I adore musky scents) - a very warm, snug scent. It makes me imagine I am sitting by an open fire on a big (faux) fur rug with a glass of mulled wine or hot honey and lemon whilst the snow or rain is falling. Yet, beyond the amber and musk I also found I could smell slight fruity tang, that gives it a slight boost. It's definitely one of the longer lasting ones - after 12 hours I could still smell a hint of it. I would wear it at any time, although I think it lends itself to evening wear perfectly.

First and most important, a thank you.

Yes, thanks to Slythwitch for doing a brilliant job, and to all the moderators for keeping it tidy I was very impressed with the mature way the troll was dealt with. The members here are the sweetest and hopefully it wont develop any of the spats that sometimes occur over in Lush. But importantly a BIG thanks, to you Elizabeth, for feeding my obsessive nature with your gorgeous and wonderful products. Your customer care is first rate and, in my experience, incomparable to any other I have come across. Your products are amazing, and your care, dedication and skill shows in all you do. So thank you.
