Sweet, sugary, and... something in it reads "dry spicy dust". I'm starting to realize I just don't like carnation. Which is a shame because phlox is DELICIOUS and I can smell the freshness of that, too, and I love it - Beth! Make more phlox blends!

There is something REALLY REALLY SWEET in here... plus a herbal-y powder that means "jasmine Voodoo Oil". I really dislike it; I couldn't explain why, it just hits the wrong chord with me. As for its voodoo efficacy - well, I can't test its intended purpose with other humans right now. As for dreams & whatnot... eh. I tried it before bed, it did nothing, I'm not especially interested in further testing. Oh well.

Bottle came to me by way of Muse of the Winds, who is a total sweetheart. I expected this to be the perfect, tart, spiced apple; I'd just tried Poisoned Apple and that was DELICIOUS, so I had even higher hopes for Punkie Night! ... But it's potpourri. Lovely potpourri, with a sour apple undernote (but sour in a good, green-apple kind of way.) Except I don't want to smell like potpourri, and I'm rather sad now! But kinda happy, I guess, since Poisoned Apple is everything I'd wanted out of this, and that is GC. Ah well. I'm just glad I got a chance to try it, at least.

Gifted with a half-imp of this from the astoundingly cool thatmadgirl on LJ. This is the first coconut note to work on me from the lab - it's soft and lovely and gentle, and there's a hint of fresh mint, nom nom nom. BUT. This is that play-dough vanilla note, oh, goddamnit. I have NEVER encountered play-dough vanilla before! Never! Why here? Although it'd probably be equally traumatizing to love this, and never get anymore, ever. Woe!

First test: hmm, sweet, sort of candylike, sort of powdery... Second test: OH GOD I KNOW WHY IT SMELLS FAMILIAR. I smell like orange and strawberry Pez :| I don't think I'll wear this again, because, Pez? What? But I miss Pez now. There's something delightful about eating candy from the decapitated head of a cartoon character.

iiiiiit's jasmine. I was expecting a lot more complexity, I guess, but this is just straight-up jasmine; I'm not even one of those what hates it, I just get very bored by it. Ah well!

In the imp, this is a sugared red wine - I can smell that very high alcohol top note, and I love it! On me, it's still high and sharp, but not as distinctively... alcoholic. Just a sharp, sweet berry. I don't usually smell in colors very well, but this is very distinctly pinkish-red. Delicious!

Incredibly sweet, white floral-y powder. This is kinda calming, I guess, but I was expecting something in the vein of Szepasszony or Shattered, and I'm just kind of... disappointed. White florals are really hit-or-miss with me, though.

This is just beautiful - a sweet, fresh orange/mango blend, without any sugar to it (I have enough sugared fruit to last a lifetime!) The sandalwood plays nice, considering its tendency to amp up on my skin; it provides a lovely base for the rest of the notes. I'm really surprised by how much I enjoy this!

Whaaaat. This starts on my skin as... dry, old peanuts? WHAT? I don't even know. It dries down into a candy-sweet orange blossom, with a hint of sugary cherry. Honestly, though, the initial scent is so incredibly off-putting, and the drydown is so mediocre... I JUST WANTED SOME CHOCOLATE, IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK.

My notes on Elegba: "ACK BUTTER" My notes on Drink Me: "ACK BUTTER 2, ELECTRIC BOOGALOO" Hooray. I smell like a tub of butter :|

Fresh, clean, almost sweet aquatic with a dash of citrus. I don't get much floral out of this - if there is any, it's blended so well I hardly notice it. It is VERY reminiscent of Shattered, for some reason; I think I need to sniff-test and see the difference, but I think Shattered is a bit colder.

Delicious tart faintly-spiced APPLE! I adore BPAL's apple note, and have been snapping up everything with it that I can get my hands on. All I have in my hands for comparison right now is The Hesperides; that's a lot sweeter and higher, a sort of yellow-gold apple. This is a greener one, but it doesn't smell GREEN, just... very tart and juicy. I was a bit wary as I'd never tried the other notes in this blend, but they definitely sit back and let apple take the lead. I'll probably end up with a 5ml of this, as much as I try to scold myself - "you don't need more apple perfume". Who am I kidding? I need all the apple perfume I can get my hands on!

There is rose in this. I can tell because it is unholy disgusting sour baby powder, as has not been seen since I tried Blood Kiss (I AM STILL MOURNING THAT.) In the imp, though, it's wonderful sweet bright cherry-almond. AGH. It is tormenting me and I want to cry! CURSE YOU, ROSE.

No lilac here at all - just a lot of violet, with the spice of the tuberose kicking in as it dries down. Lovely, but I'm starting to realize that as much as I enjoy smelling violets, I don't want to smell LIKE them (I just keep thinking I smell like violet candies. Which, delicious, but no.)

Very sharp, dry wood, with a leather undertone and a hint of... herbal? What? no. Something sharp. Maybe that's just my nose reading the leather oddly (I haven't had a leather scent yet! This is a first! Hurrah for lab frimps!) Anyway, this is ENTIRELY too masculine for me. I'm not sure I'd even like a guy wearing this; he'd be too butch for me! I like my dudes to wear dresses and eyeliner But if you like your men manly, slather 'em, I guess.

Starts out as a very bizarre fruit-potpourri scent in the bottle, and while I love it, apparently no one else does. HOWEVER this dries down into perfect spiciness, with the vanilla turning the whole thing into a sort of creamy, sweet, fruity spice. I really liked Saw-Scaled Viper because it provided this lovely spicy note, but this knocks it out of the ballpark - so much more depth and nuance. I NEED a bottle of this.

I... like jasmine? And moonflower? But purple fruits can go either delicious or awful (see: Bordello), and I've had little luck with incense, so this was a maybe-maybe. Anyway, something in it went sour and strange. Maybe-no.

Frimp from the lab! This had actually been on my wishlist, so I was pretty excited about it. Starts out as a sickly, sticky-sweet apricot - nearly rotten, it's so SWEET. Ack. Then the spices come out in full force, and it's very odd - I can smell both notes at the same time, very strongly, and they don't blend. I wait for them to blend! They don't blend. Boo. Instead, the apricot just charges right back in, and somehow overpowers the CLOVE. This is the reverse of the way it should be, folks! But sadly, it is this way, so off it goes.

Very grapefruit-y, but in a very harsh, muted sort of way. It doesn't feel fresh or natural to me in any sense - I mean, it doesn't smell FAKE, it just smells kind of... not-grapefruit. Really, really weird. Fades off my skin pretty quickly too, which, meh.

Oh wow. Got a half-imp of this via bpalanon's switch-witch, and ooh. Man. Very crisp, nearly herbal, cool, watery... all those adjectives everyone keeps using. There are about twenty notes in here, but the sharper ones are kind of amping up on me. It's a very quiet, still scent; it's almost like a voodoo oil in that sense - I'm smelling it and while I really appreciate the scent, I also feel very relaxed by it. It's strange, but incredibly lovely. Since it is an LE, I'm not going to be tracking down anymore, but if more happens to find its way over to me, well... I won't kick it out of bed for eating pretzels, y'know? And I wouldn't have paid $30 for an unsniffed bottle... but next time this comes around from the lab, yeah, I'm gonna pick up a bottle or two. ETA: I wore this the other day and it was strangely sweet - like hard candy with a thin powdery coating - strange and reminiscent of SOMETHING but I couldn't name it. Very different from original tests, but still lovely. Huh.

In the imp this is The Best Scent Known To Man, perfect glimmering strawberry champagne, OMG, WANT WANT WANT On me it goes to a sort of dull soft pink, with a glittery background. Not strawberry, just... PINK. If that makes sense. It's nice enough on me, so I'm keeping the imp, but, omg, I need a scent locket yesterday so I can wear the imp version. Because. Wow.

The green tea note is REALLY nice, and dead-on accurate; sadly, something about the whole combination turns plasticky and strange on me - I think mango, as other fig blends are lovely on me. It's a really strong, overwhelming plastic note too; on some sniffs I get a hint of sweetened tea, but otherwise, nothing :|

Ehhh. Sweet candied fruits with a horrid dusty undernote - I was PRAYING the rose in this would play nice, but, sure enough, it hates me. Terribly. I've got another imp I'm giving to a friend; hopefully she'll adore it so I can unload mine onto her as well.

Surprisingly sweet; a very deep, earthy sweetness, but the fruit aspect is lovely and bright (and I can definitely detect the fig note from Carnal, which I ADORE.) I can actually see myself wearing this quite often when I don't feel like being all sunshine and rainbows! And, ehehe, the name is so great~
