  1. It started off smooth and almost buttery, on my skin it went sharp initially and smoothed back out. I want to say I'm getting resins and a bitter almond sort of note, and there's a floral of some kind (I think white) that went a bit too heady and funky for a moment before settling. Rather pretty!

  2. In the bottle I get cotton with a light, clean edge to it but quickly dirtied it up by soft sweet incense. It reminds me of the incense blend in All Souls. Ambergris drapes around all of this with a musky, salty fog. On my skin it smells quite the same as in the bottle, but a bit warmer and it has more depth. Less clean. I want to say there's a light wood note, but I can't really pin it. Maybe it's the herbs? I agree with the above, it's definitely a sheer and cool scent, giving the effect of gray silk.

  3. In the bottle I get a chewy patch with a lightly smoked dark chocolate. On my skin the cacao fades back a bit, and it's more mahogany and patch, with that vanilla-cherry-hay situation of tonka. Earthy, rich, with a sleekness from the mahogany and touch of smoke. As it dries the cacao comes back, doing less of a solo and more blended with the choir. It reminds me a bit of The Antikythera Mechanism, but this works on my skin!

  4. I went a similar direction as frizzlechicken, thinking 'fancy Lucky Charms'. It's oaty, sugared, with lots of vanilla.  On my skin the almond comes out (stays nutty, not cherryish!) And just a tiny bit of fig comes out, gives a bit of chewy sweetness. A really delightful gourmand-ish. It's elegant and homey at the same time.

  5. Really creamy vanilla and roses in the bottle, with a touch of fruitiness.  On my skin it's a little muskier with the ambergris coming out, and that beautiful vanilla gets a little more pronounced as well. The rose is soft and creamy, smells like white rose to me. The fruitiness hangs in the background still. This feels like a champagne-less cousin to The Waltz to me. Like an afternoon tea vs a ball.

  6. Big beautiful neroli! It's heady and a bit dark, and reminds me of the one in Orange Blossom & Driftwood, without the saltiness of course. On my skin it's gets just lightly tinged with the blood orange (more the zest than juice), and a soft warm base of amber. I can't pick out the musk, but I think it's adding to the sheerness. It's does a wonderful job of translating the artwork, it has a glowing quality about it.

  7. This one is mostly star anise and sandalwood on me. It's soft and inviting, and something about this combo makes me think of black tea. As it dries I get just a breeze of cherry blossom in the background. Not much throw on me.

  8. This smells almost fizzy in the imp, but as soon as it goes on the skin it is all bitter (in the best way) orange. It gets a little juicier as it wears, with an earthy sweetness from the fig rounding it out.

  9. Beautiful honeyed wine with a light fizz. Wet the plum blossom really comes out, so breezy. As it dries it fades a bit and I get a little more spicy carnation. Fully dry I get the vanilla-adjacent aspects of tonka and benzoin rounding everything out. So pretty!

  10. Just a whiff of musk in the bottle, but this really blooms on the skin. The rose is velvety and is the base of the scent on my skin. The resins are resining, they are thick and sweet in that rich, deep way. The black musk is here, but I have a terrible time trying to describe it. It's soft and blurry. Totally agree with the recommendations from starbrow, this is an incredible incense if you can do rose!

  11. Druid

A beautiful sweet green! Almost juicy in its freshness. Grassy, mossy, with a really pleasant soil note underneath and incense. The phrase 'sun dappled' comes to mind.

  12. In the imp this is very strawberry, with a touch of blackcurrant. On my skin the strawberry goes up in pitch and the coconut comes out. Something about it is reading strawberry-piña colada to me. Eventually the strawberry calms down a bit, it's still quite sweet. The coconut is more creamy at this stage and finally a bit of jasmine is peaking out. A pretty cloud of pink.

  13. Floaty gardenia, a touch of white rose and moss dominate this blend for me initially. It makes me think of an ethereal forest. As it dries it becomes more floral and less mossy, now a full on garden. The gardenia and rose are definitely present but in a blended chorus with the rest, which I'm having a harder time picking out. Though I think I can detect a bit of that humid, slightly green-floral note of the vanilla flower. The moss is still present, and I get just a touch of amber. A very fae bouquet.

  14. So purple in the imp. We're talking concord grape. On my skin it transforms instantly to blackberry, deep rich, with some wine-y aspects. A little glitter from the bergamot. As it dries it wants to veer into candy territory on me. The patch comes in and sort of grounds it, but it is a bit disjointed on me.

  15. This smells like my ideal chai in the imp. Lots of sweet cinnamon and cardamom, with a good dose of clove. Here it is sweetened by amber instead of sugar, giving it a golden glow. On my skin it gets a bit more atmospheric with the hay dusting about, and I get a little hazelnut underneath the spice. An incredible autumn scent, will definitely need more!

  16. In the imp I get a mossy peach in a cloud of incense. Juicy peach with a dusting of green. It's unusual but beautiful. On wet it is less smoky, even peachier. As it dries the amber and ambergris ground the peach a bit, as does the incense smoke. But the moss never comes back, and I never detect the cardamom. Apparently peach is a bit of a bulldozer on me! A very nice peach note though.

  17. In the imp this reminds me a bit of The Witch Queen. It has this somewhat purple tone, and a bottomless quality. Deep but not heavy. On my skin it gets much headier, it is very much about the jasmine! But is has this amber base that has slight clean facet for a bit of lift. Really makes me think of a full moon.
