Cold Moon: Osmanthus and Sweet Frankincense
roseus replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Oh this is so pretty! Osmanthus is one of those florals that I've never been sure about, in that I struggle to know if I'm pulling it out in blends. I'm actually not getting a whole lot of frankincense out of this blend once it hits my skin. It is a gorgeous fresh fruity-floral, I agree that there is something peachy or apricot-y about it. Nectar-sweet springtime blooms. -
The Great Battle of the Vegetables and the Fish
roseus replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Limited Editions
In the imp this is surprisingly fruity; salty, slightly spicy, grapefruit. I can also detect a dead-on radish scent, like dry spicy dirt. On my skin the salt and grapefruit fade way back and this is very much a fresh green vegetal scent on me. Something is *almost* like tomato leaf, sun-warm and green but without that ¿muskiness? I associate with it. There's a touch of salt that keeps this from being a pure garden scent. More like coastal vegetable patch. There's something crisp and watery, sort of cucumbery? Really fresh and beautiful. Was not expecting to like this so so much. -
Goose Moon: Nag Champa Smoke and White Gardenia
roseus replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Gorgeous gentle nag champs, lightly sweet and I agree sort of cleaned-up by the gardenia. Instead of an incense smoked-stained room it has the impression of incense on a tropical breeze. The gardenia isn't stealing the show by any means.- 4 replies

Black Pine and Incense Smoke Atmosphere Spray
roseus replied to doomsday_disco's topic in Atmosphere
Smoky pine and incense. Not a breath-of-fresh-air pine scent, like @bheansidhe said it is darker, and wilder. Murky deep woods.- 5 replies

This reminds me a bit of the cotton hoodie + lavender situation of You Are Not Alone, but with an extra shot of sweetness. To me this is in the same realm as Boober. But where the linden in that is honey-sweet and the scent is like laundry drying in the sun, this is less breezy and more snuggly. A gorgeous clean scent!

This starts off very juniper forward on me, crisp cool evergreenness with a bit of chewy amber underneath. As it dries the juniper fades back and I get more patchouli and musk. It's soft, earthy, fuzzy. The juniper and lemon just streak through a bit.

In the imp I get almost equal magnolia and lilac, but on my skin it is definitely more about the lilac. Waxy, cool, dainty. A touch of warm muskiness from the ambergris.

2024. Plum, opium, and vanilla stand out to me in the imp. Dark but glittering. On my skin the tobacco really comes out, giving more heft and warmth as the plum recedes slightly. The opium has a sort of bottomless quality, deep but not heavy. The florals meld in, they have presence but don't stand out. Really pretty!

In the imp this reminds me a bit of my memory of The Robotic Scarab, gleaming and bright but with a fizziness. More resinous and deep on the skin, the frankincense leaning almost woody. Stunning!

I get a beautiful pine needle punctuated chestnut-y bourbon cream in the imp. However the sage and licorice combine in an unfortunate way on my skin, very sharp and medicinal, and they takeover.

I would also say this is a more moss-heavy. I don't get so much a dirt note as a mineraly one. Not-quite-salty aquatic coolness. The scent as a whole is clean and bracing first on, but as it settles is more woodsy-fresh.

Sweet vanilla popcorn with just a haze of lavender on my skin. It gets a bit less caramelly as it wears and a bit more buttery. Cute and cozy!

Soft leather and rich, sticky tobacco. Swear I get a touch of a maple syrup sweetness as well. Super cozy!

2024. This smells nostalgic to me for some reason and I can't quite place why. A soft creamy-powdery pink scent. Woody-incense at the base, and a sheer fruity-floral sweetness draped over it. Gorgeous and I'm annoyed it took me this long to try it!

Really pretty spiced cider, a little extra fruitiness from the fig. Very cozy!

In the imp this is so bright and buzzy. Lemon, lavender, all resonating with the aldehydes. On my skin it is less fizzy, a little more metallic (in a very pleasant way, my skin sometimes struggles with metallic notes). I can still definitely pick out some lemon, ambergris, and patchouli. It is like the scent has a cool layer of chrome over the top.

2024 version. Really rich dark purple blackcurrant and blackberry. The amber and musk really ground it and make it more perfumey.

In the imp I get mostly crisp green tea white musk. On my skin the earl grey comes out, as do the florals. More honeysuckle than rose on me. It's bright and breezy, a gorgeous springtime blend.

2024 version. Chilly piney snow dominates this blend on my skin. As it dries woody, herbal sage comes out as well as some warmth and sweetness from the ambers. Sparkling, wintry, and gorgeous.

Sniffing the decant, I get the plum cognac, vetiver caramel (in the imp I don't really get the vetiver part, more just caramelized sweetness underneath the plum), rose, and tobacco. Lightly fruity and floral, mellow sweetness, and a bit of dark base notes from the tobacco. While I'm familiar with most of these notes, the combination feels unique, not quite like anything in my collection or memory. On my skin it is similar, a bit more blended and even more mellowed out. I think I'm getting the vetiver -normally it goes harsh on my skin but I think it is blending nicely with the tobacco root and just adding an earthiness, sort of roughing up the sweeter notes a bit. Sniffing deeply I get hints of the nutmeg with its sweet woodiness. It is sort of resinous, rich and dark. I keep saying sweet but it's not a candy or particularly fruity sweetness. Addicting to sniff, I feel compelled to keep coming back to it.

Oh this is gorgeous! I agree with previous reviews that it feels in the same family as Cat at the Table and To A Wreath of Snow. The vanilla is this makes it a bit warmer than either of those, similar to the vanilla in Dorian to me. Dry I would say the sandalwood, vanilla, and and oud are most prominent. It's dry, woody, and sort of spicy. The grey amber has a nice sweet sort of haze and the ti adds a bit of cool freshness.

This is much different than I anticipated! Something about the hibiscus note comes off sort of apple-y on my skin when wet. As it dries the hibiscus remains at the forefront, dry and tart and bright. I get some rose underneath and maybe a touch of tobacco.

First sniff this gives the impression of shrubland, dry and herbal. There's a strong green and herbal scent, with a camphor-adjacent edge that I think might be a combination of the cade and spikenard? That is a majority of the scent at first. Fresh and almost ginger-y. As it dries the resins come in and give it a warm, robust base. The cardamom doesn't peak out on me until way into the dry down.

First impression is smoky red musk with a touch of heat. The peppercorn is strong out of the gate but fades back on the skin, it becomes more woody and incensey. The beeswax and red musk offer a slight sweetness. Fully dry the plum peaks out. Hazy is a beautiful word for it.

Starts off very gourmand on my skin, a well-spiced brownie. As it dries the chocolate fades way back and it becomes a drier, muskier scent. The wool is fuzzy and musky (not at all clean laundry on me), the tea and spices follow closely behind. I get just a tiny hint of sweetness from the chocolate and honey. Very homey and cozy.
