    Mr. Ibis

Papyrus, vanilla flower, Egyptian musk, African musk, aloe ferox, white sandalwood. Mr. Ibis is so exactly like its character that its uncanny. There is a softness there, a delicacy, a subtly that I don't always find in perfumes. I was not quite sure about it, it was so reserved, so dignified, but I am finding myself turning to this trusty bottle on tough days or intense heat. Its cooling, calming, gentle. I didn't think I liked it, on first try, but it turns out I am a fan after all.

    Womb Furie

I can't quite make up my mind about Womb Fury. It is certainly the Snake Oil and honey combo that is advertised (and, as many have said, its Snake Oil and O), but its not as sexy as I think it should be. Instead I find it almost snuggly, an autumn hibernation scent. I think I like it? I'm not all the way to loving it, but I like it.

    Die Begierde

I love rose scents. And I love carnation! So this was an instant purchase, back when this round of Lupers landed. Others have noted that its almost more like rose water than of proper rose, and the carnation only adds a delicate spiciness, not a full blown spice. Generally I like it. I'm not tipped all the way into love, but I like it!

    Stale Sugar-Crusted Marshmallow Chick

I am one of the team who adores Peeps. The world seems divided into Peeps Lovers and Peeps Haters, so when this oil came out, as a lover, I had to have it. Stale marshmallows! There is that hint of plastic that comes when marshmallows turn stale, and I'm just chuffed with it. I was hoping for a fresher marshmallow scent, but I can't fault it- it tells me right up front that its stale. I can even smell the yellow sugar crystals. Ha! Long live Marshmallow chicks, in oil form, and in the real world.

My Baby and a Baby Goat

I have an oversized grey cashmere sweater. I wear this article when its cold out, on rainy days, on very lazy weekends, and when I feel blue. Its not the most elegant item I own, but its just so right. This perfume is what I reach for every time I want to put on that grey cashmere sweater. They go together like nothing else. This is a rich, milky cream with a touch of honey and musk. Its a cozy scent, and perfect on a stormy, cold day.

    Jacob's Ladder

I remember distinctly, when I was small, getting a box of odds and ends from my grandmother. One thing in there was a tiny bottle of old perfume, which smelled exactly like this. This is a rich, heavy, and old fashioned amber. It not my usual wear, as I find this a little cloying and a little overpowering. But there is something so nostalgic, so old fashioned and, well, perfumy, that I can't just write this one off. A memory in a bottle.

    Elizabeth of Bohemia

I'm a serious fan of rose perfumes. I love them in just about any combination. And this is, as everyone has said, a perfect rose ouhd. This is lush, rich, and voluptuous. A very nice blend indeed. The ouhd gives this strong rose a sweetness, which helps to ground it a little.

    Parlement of Foules

I love this. Its a quiet rose, a delicate white, maybe tipped with pink, and rounded out by very soft resins. I find this combination to be lovely and delicate, a perfect spring rose perfume.

    The First Rose

This is a pink rose. It could almost be a single note. Its a spring rose, light and pretty, with no heavier note to tie it down. It floats, but its not the most complicated rose scent that I've ever smelled from the Lab.

    Eat Me

Ahh, a white, fluffy perfume. I most certainly get the vanilla and the white cakes, which form a light and playful sugar confection. I can't say I get the currant at all, but I do get a lot of sugary, cakey goodness. I must say I am a fan!

    Between Your Heart And Mine

Heartwood bois de rose and vanilla-touched rose. Roses! Ahh, roses. I love rose perfumes, so this was a bottle I was eager to try. Its mostly rose, with the tiniest hint of cream and a solid base of rosewood to it. Those additions add a roundness to the scent, and ground it, so it never turns frivolous, as some rose perfumes can. Its a great rose for a cold day, and I intend to wear it often.

    Champagne Lace

As I write this note it is New Years Eve, and what better way to celebrate than some champagne? In the vial, and in its first application there is a burst of sparkily champagne. This is that note that is so damn realistic that I can smell the bubbles. As I love sparkling wines, this makes my day. That hint of sparkle never really goes away, but its quickly joined by a delicate vanilla base, and a hint of something smokey (the opium?) that grounds everything. I've long heard tell of the Laces, and this one has made me a believer. I'll keep an eye out for further lace developments!

    Little Lady Macbeth

Mmmm, but this smells delicious. Its the densest honey cake you ever have smelled, studded with sweet currents. The scent is never heavy, but it has a presence that is a solid as a scone, and every bit as tasty. Just perfect for an autumn day or a cold weather night.

    Stekkjarstaur

Wooly sugared marshmallow root. It turns out that I love marshmallow scents, so I'm so glad I picked up a bottle of this. This is a dense, rich sugar and marshmallow cloud. Like those fancy marshmallows you can get at specialized grocery stores. I can smell the powdery outside, and the slightly dense and chewy inside. Creamy, dreamy, amazing.

    A Little More Tea

This is very creamy and buttery. More crumbly cookie than it is tea, though there is a faint hint of something citrus on me. It faded down a sugar cookie in milk scent. I think its very pleasant, but its a little light, and I was hoping for more tea out of this blend.

    French Vanilla

This is a very custard-y vanilla. Its very creamy and smooth. The trouble is that it is not very strong, and it doesn't bloom into anything incredible on my skin. I'm a little disappointed, as I was hoping for something that knocked me down with its magnificence. As it is, French Vanilla is alright, but just alright.

    Theme in Yellow

Pumpkin, a touch of candle wax, and a generally lovely scent! It does a disservice to Theme in Yellow to say its Jack without the peach, but it does share the rich and creamy pumpkin base. But this is a pumpkin without pumpkin spice, which is amazingly rare, and the touch of "candlelight" makes the whole thing just glow with happiness. Ahh, Autumn. A Jack-O-Lantern glowing in the night, an illuminated smile.

    Good Morning, London

This does what it says on the tin. Amber and lavender, in equal measure. The amber is a bit powdery (which is ok in my book. I'm one of those odd folk who like amber even when its powdery), and the lavender is initially a little sharp and medicinal, but it evens out quickly. It really is a close to the skin sort of scent, and I'm afraid my skin gobbled it up, leaving a lavender and amber shadow on my skin.

    Pumpkin Sugar

I was hoping for some sort of pumpkin sugar cookie, or pumpkin infused sugar. But its rather a very sweet pumpkin spice mixture. This is not unpleasant, in fact it is quite nice, but its just not exactly what I was hoping for. In its own right, its a very sweet blend of pumpkin pie spices, with particular emphasis on the cinnamon. Its not a "light" scent, but has a decent amount of presence, and a reasonable ware time.

    Unicorn and Ram

I bought Unicorn and Ram with my fingers firmly crossed that the leather in it would not overwhelm. And this time I lucked out. If I detect any leather, its very soft, a well worn leather. This is a soft and cozy perfume, mostly the wooly musk, with a breath of the cardamom, which is just so, so delightful. Its a perfume for rainy days and soft sweaters. It reminds me in spirit, if not in notes, of My Baby and a Baby Goat. I feel similarly snuggly with this one.

    Jack

Jack was the first perfume of October for me, and what a way to start this most pumpkin-y of months. I got this as an Imp from the lab, and was somehow convinced that I was not going to like it at all. Maybe its the addition of the peach, a note that is decidedly iffy on me. But I need not have feared. This is an amazingly creamy, buttery pumpkin, sweet and just kissed by the spices. I loved wearing it all day long. It never turns into anything other than what it is. I can see why this is a classic.

    Bon Vivant

An effervescent blend of crystalline champagne notes and sweet strawberry. I'm more or less dressed up as a flapper today, so I thought a champagne infused scent would be just perfect for the whole look. I don't get any strawberry from this. Just a slight sweetness around the edges of the scent. But I do get a lot of bubbles. Ginger ale levels of bubbles. In fact, there is a ginger ale feel (minus the scent of actual ginger) to this, rather than champagne. But its not bad. It has a much longer stay than I would expect. I put it on at nine a.m. and its currently dinner time, and I still get whiffs of sparkles. Its a silly little scent, fun and, well, bubbly.

    Apple V

I'm not quite sure why I bought this, as I hate coconut. But, fortunately, for me anyway, the coconut does not show its face. On me this is almost an apple single note, with a touch of creamy fig later in the day, and maybe a whiff of the tiare? But mostly its just sweet apple on me. I should be complaining about that more, but I'm so relieved it didn't turn into a pina colada on me, that I'll give it a pass.

    Liebeszauber

I don't know what has taken me so long in trying this, but now I regret that I've not been wearing it all summer. Alice in a sundress. I'd initially bought this because I'd heard it was like Alice, and now I can confirm. This is the lightest, sunniest Alice in the world, with a touch of citrus-like scent. I'm a fan. This is a great summertime scent for those who prefer spicy, autumnal scents.

    Water of Notre Dame

This is a green scent, and quite strong, but theres an herbal spiciness to it, that keeps it from getting too "fresh," is you get my meaning. I'm always a little iffy on green perfumes, but this one didnt make me feel like I was wearing cabbage or watercress, so thats a win in my book.
