    Gift Certificates?

Can you make a wishlist on the BPAL site? I keep telling my husband what scents I'd like to receive, but he can never remember. I told him I wanted Vasakasajja and he came back the next day asking, "You wanted some Spanish scent right? Casa something?"

    The Ecstasy of Passion

Mmmm. My favorite of the Ecstasies for sure. When it first went on it seemed to strong. Soon the clove and vanilla melded and became a lovely very warm scent. As it adjusts on my skin the amber and musk come out to play a bit too. This is a spicy, sultry, and warm blend, makes me think of lowered lashes and slow smiles in an old building in a place you have never been.

    The Ecstasy of Infatuation

When I first put this on it is very fresh grapefruit. As it dries I can smell the cherry coming out, but only from a bit aways. When I sniff right at my arm it is still all grapefruit. Now that it is pretty much dry it is a very nice sweet and tart scent with a touch of floral and ginger. It is really beautiful, but something in it kind of bothers my nose. That is only when I sniff right where it is, but I'm so bad when it comes to BPAL. T_T I walk around sniffing my wrists and I can't do that with this one. I like this, but I might swap it to someone who loves it.

    The Agony of Longing

Quick review, basically so I don't forget how lovely this is. Pear! So much lovely pear on me, with just a touch of rose to my nose. I wore it to an appt and another woman asked what smelled so nice and if it was rose based though, so I guess the rose might be in the front to other people's noses. I wish I had a full bottle of this and not a decant. =[

    White and "Light" Musk Recommendations

Can anyone describe skin musk to me? I love Vasakasajja, but I'm not sure what it is that I love in it. lol

    The Ecstasy of True Love

This one makes me a little nauseous. =s The combination of scents doesn't work on me. The peach and patchouli combine into a weird sickly sweet smell that dominates the rest of the blend. It also has a weird menthol vibe on me. oO ETA: I think it was the honeysuckle, not the peach. I had the same nauseous feeling come from Aries.
  7. I love love love Vasakasajja. I'm not sure what parts I love though as I have never bought a blend with tonka, skin musk, orchid, or champaca in it before. So can anyone suggest similar scents so I can try some things that are close, but a bit different?

    Honey and Beeswax scents

^I bought a bottle of that because I couldn't wait for my decant to arrive. I was sad. The honey doesn't really show up on me.

    Temple Viper

Ok, everyone is going to think I am crazy, but I am not familiar with any of the individual elements in Temple Viper, and the thing it most reminds me of on my skin is root beer. Which is awesome. It reminds me a lot of Tombstone, but without the cedar. It's a sweet scent, but not candy sweet. I love it and I am so glad I have a big bottle of it. ADDED March 15: Does anyone else get a rootbeer scent from this one? I love it! It reminds me a bit of Tombstone which was too dry for me.

    Vasakasajja

Dressed seductively and sumptuously, reclining in a bed strewn with glorious, sensual blooms, she awaits the arrival of her lover. Her breath is quick with anticipation, and her cheeks are flushed with passion: skin musk, wild orchid, champaca flower, amaranth, tonka bean, and French vanilla. I can't decide what I think about this. It has a lovely and very softly sweet scent to it, but it is also very perfumey. It is like two different perfumes on me. The vanilla and soft fruit scent is great, but the rest of the florals are kind of giving me a headache. I'm not sure if I can deal with the sharp perfumey florals, but the tonka, vanilla, and whatever the fruity flower is are lovely. I think I will wear this imp out before I make a decision. ETA: Once I let it dry more the sharp perfume tang went away! I love this one!
  11. I'm looking for a Gennivre similarity too. Strangely, The Unicorn smelt kind of similar to Gennivre on me, as in it had the same "vibe" and feeling about it, but it's nowhere near as complex and meaningful as Gennivre on me. Suggestions? That Japanese Salon scent with the sugarcane and honey sounds a lot like Gennivre without the mint...I'm really looking forward to it, as Gennivre was perfect on me after the Death Mint of Evil faded away. Maybe you could layer that with a touch of a minty or tea scent? Oooh, I missed that one somehow. I will try to track down an imp of it. Thanks so much for the suggestion!!

    Midwinter's Eve

A melancholy, deep scent, poignant and brimming with nostalgia. The perfume of sugared plums over a breeze of winter flowers. I had such high hopes for this one. In the bottle: Sweet and juicy, a very nice scent. Wet: This smells just like a candy...sweet tarts maybe? Dry: Still candy. It's too sweet for me. It smells like I smeared candy powder on my arms Oh well.

    Honey and Beeswax scents

Khajuraho was really nice on me, but it didn't smell that much like honey. Thank you so much to everyone that suggested Hetairae! That has now become one of my favorite scents! It is all honey and spice on me and it is fantastic! (Wet it was kind of icky perfumey though)

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Can anyone suggest some BPAL with a similar scent to Chance by Chanel or Burberry?

    Tombstone

Oh yum. This imp spilled on it's way to me which is very sad. I decided to try it right away since it was all I could smell anyway. In the imp: Sweet. Smells like those root beer barrel candies. Wet: Ohh, vanilla and rootbeer. And just a touch of cedar. Drying: More cedar, I preferred it wet. Dry: Too much cedar for me. It turned masculine. If anyone knows of a scent that is like the initial stage of vanilla and rootbeer, let me know!

    Hymn to Proserpine

Wow. I love this one. In the imp: Oooh, much sweeter than I expected. Wet: Honey! Is there honey in this? This is making me very excited. It is very sweet, almost too sweet, but I think I like it. Drying: Still very sweet, but there is something else that is dustier, it must be the amber. Dry: Fantastic. It is the perfect blend of sweet with a dry warm amber. This isn't a happy go lucky scent to me, it has a more...luscious feel if that makes sense. Not a lot of throw on me. I may try to make this into a spray. 5/5 for me and a bottle will be ordered soon!

    Honey and Beeswax scents

I'm wearing Hymn to Proserpine and it smells like it has honey in it on me. I'm not sure if that is one of the actual scents in it or not, but it has that same sweet note I normally smell in honey blends. It is very nice.

    Serpent's Kiss

In the bottle: Whoooa, very strong and full of vetiver. I can't smell much else at this point. Wet: Still strong, a bit of sweetness joining it now. The two smells are not meshing well on me. It is actually making me a bit nauseous. Dry: Much, much nicer dry. Now it is cinnamon and a bit of sweet with a nice spice to it. I like it now, but I don't think I will get another imp as the wet stage is too much for me. 3/5

    Honey and Beeswax scents

Oh my, that made me laugh so hard. Wow. That is another one to add to the bad suggestions thread. Cocoa and cigarette butts. Ahem... I just tried Queen of Sheba, hoping for lots of honey, but it was almond and soap on me. =/ I have imps of Sudha Segara and Hetairae on order so maybe they will work for me. I will give O another chance I think. I spilled my imp the day I got it. =/ So it may have turned powdery because so much got on me. Which was a shame, I loved the scent wet.

    Queen of Sheba

My first review, so bear with me. =] In the imp: Almond, almond, almond. It smells just like the almond oil I use when baking. I am a little disappointed. Wet: Still almond, but a little sweeter now. I can live with this. A few minutes later: Soap!? What the heck? Why is it getting a soapy tinge? Dry: I'm not sure what I think. I put a drop in my hair and a dab on my neck and I like the scent. But I don't like it when I sniff my wrist. Right up against my skin it has this weird almond soap smell, but from a distance it is nice. 3.5/5

    Honey and Beeswax scents

I liked the smell of O, but it turned into baby powder on me, is La Petite Mort prone to the powder stage as well? Blood Kiss works well on me. It smells like cough syrup for a moment, but then dries into a really nice cherry-vanilla-honey scent.
  22. I am loving Gennivre and I am going to very sad when the Carnaval set ends. Can anyone tell me a GC scent that is similar?

    Honey and Beeswax scents

Did you guys notice the honey in Gennivre? That scent worked really well on me, but I can't tell why. I'm wondering if it is the honey that smelled so nice and sweet on me. Edit: It looks like some of you did. What do you think would be a similar honey type scent? I just loved Gennivre to death.

    Burt's Bees fans will know...

Oooh, I'm new to BPAL so I haven't tried many, but I am interested in knowing too. I love Burt's Bees products.
