    Sea of Glass

This is the perfect linen scent for me. It reminds me of a summer afternoon in the south after the rain when the honeysuckle is in bloom. Its expertly mixed and while I wouldnt want to personally smell like this, having it as a room scent for the laundry is a perfect use of the frimp.

    Baron Samedi

I dont know why today my brain is making mainly food and drink correlations with scents, but this smells like sweet and spicy pretzels, the kind in a chex mix bag on long road trips. I dont get rum, or alcohol or anything else in the slightest, but weird pretzels. Interesting, perhaps I will revisit this again and see how I feel about it.

    Persephone

This smells like a drink I would indulge in in college. Very much a fruity floral with a saccharine sweetness like too thick simple syrup oozing along the bottom of a glass. Not for me, but glad I got to try it.

    Shango

I admit to not really enjoying the orisha blends I have been frimped or given in my time, and right off the bat, I can tell that Shango is on that list for me as well. I just dont like to smell like a frozen beach drink, personally. In the vial it's a harsh blend of banana, pineapple and alcohol, and on my skin the candy-banana note is so strong it makes my eyes water. Then it smells rather like fresh cut apples and...mens aftershave? I must be interpreting the coconut as aftershave. I mean no disrespect to Shango but I am very put off by the combined weirdness that is this blend on me. On a positive note I suppose, the throw is incredible and I can smell the tiniest drop even if I have my hands out as far as they will go.

    The Night-Raven

Oh dear. This has jasmine in it, doesnt it. Luckily I am not one of those poor souls that Jasmine turns to poo on, however, Jasmine loves my skin and I amp it like no other. This ends up being a very perfumey Jasmine with a light green background. I am forever doomed to avoid Jasmine it seems. Sadness, for I do love the other notes dearly.

    Nemesis

On me this is very cypress forward, with a slight hint of the ginger to make me regret shoving my nose to my wrist and huffing for this review. As you can imagine, on me this is a skin scent, very low throw, if any. After a fair amount of time ,the heavy evergreen lightens and the sweetness of the rose comes to the front. With that mix, it smells a bit like an austere Victorian Lady with no mirth in her life whatsoever. Not for me, and I know why I have passed it by on numerous occasions.

    Dragon's Heart

On me this could almost be a Dragons Blood single note. To be fair, my imp is fairly aged, and viscous so it could be that the time has diminished the other notes into quiet whispers of their past selves. Lovely, but not spectacular.

    Dragon's Musk

Musk and Dragon's Blood has a tendency to go powdery on me. Its almost as if my nemesis myrrh is in this blend its so baby powdery. Im starting to suspect that Dragons Blood has the same effect on me a soft, powdery dry down that blurs the edges of all the other notes and drowns them in the quiet, irrepressible blizzard. Other than the excessive powder I can make out a nice dark musk - like a shadowy figure. Ah well, thats okay, not everything can be winners.

    Vicomte de Valmont

My first and only impression is that I must have the Husband wear this. On date night.

    The Black Tower

This is sweet grape soda on me instantly. Where are all of the other notes? Hell, where is the wine? No wine has ever smelled like this, unless it came in a juice pouch and also gave you a raging headache. Actually no, I take that back, there was a restaurant in Rome I vaguely remember where the owner gave our table "sexy wine" which was sparkling and bright pink. This smells like my hungover felt the next day. Probably not a scent I will return to. Ever again.

    Bloodlust

The dragons blood and vetiver are an interesting mix on my skin; I get very little patchouli which saddens my patch-lovin-heart. A slight drop of cinnamon makes this a very dry spicy blend, like dried blood, but not the gushing stuff itself.

    Sloth

As a vertiver fan I am rather surprised I havent tried this before now. This was frimp from the Lab in my most recent order and after blithely applying to my skin I see why I havent tried it before. The myrrh. It takes over everything. It is really hard to overpower vetiver but this powdery devil still does and softensall the sharp edges I like about vetiver. That being said this is dark and smoky and lovely for certain moods or events. Just not a bottle scent for me.

    The Buffalo Man

This smells almost exactly like an ancient Horned God altar oil my old pagan shop had in the back for the covens sabbats. As I never wore that on my skin, the similarity starts to fade as the oil warms. This is much sweeter and warmer, less smokey and dark. I love the animalistic musk note, and I love civet and I wish this blend was heavier with that note on my skin. I will say that this has good throw, I can smell it as I type, and It is very comforting.

    The Illustrated Woman

Wet on the skin this smells exactly like my summers at camp in the NC mountains. Ceder-y, Pine-y and with a hint of preteen girl perfume. As it warms, the light and airy vanilla strengthens and almost overwhelms the blend. Where is the patch or tobacco? I could really use some deeper base notes here, so it doesnt just put me back in middle school, sweating around a campfire. There it is. More patch, but the lightest, softest patch I have ever smelled. This is very feminine on me, and lighter than my usual choices.

    Hearth

The first thing I notice is a smack of cherry. Like cherry soda, almost, with a hint of sweetness. Luckily this stage is over very quickly and the tobacco and leather come out. I really love it, its very evocative, and as many other reviewers have noticed, perfect for creating or re-creating a scene. At the moment, the 77 degrees we have here in Philly with bright blue skies is a dichotomy to the snowy winter's eve coming from my wrist. Utterly beautiful.

    Fortuna Obsequens

Very rose prominent, with a slight edge of darkness. its very soft and gentle and close to the skin. I imagine a woman with many secrets to wear this. Lovely, but for special occasions

    Fortuna Praecantatrix

The pomegranate at the beginning overpowers almost everything else, ad for a moment I thought it had rose in it somewhere. But then the patch and vetiver come out to play, which are two of my favorite notes in bpal scents. They are met with the tonka and it sweetens it, along with the honey. I very much love this, it is similar to Mme Moriarty but different enough to earn its place on my shelves.

    Snake Skin

Well, I am in love. It is the same leather that I get from Iago, which delights me. Its like wearing my worn leather jacket and snake oil at the same time..with not much else. The fiance approves. I am so happy that I ordered this and that it came back

    Tobacco scents

I can't wait to get my bottle of this!! It is so good. It smells like commingled incense smoke and tobacco on my skin. I couldnt stop huffing my wrist- which concerned my fiance until I shoved it under his nose as well. Tobacco lovers will adore this

A Savage Veil, Severe and Strong

I also get a lot of plum in here, and something aboutbit reminds me of Lucille Sharpe. The purple note of the plum perhaps? Or maybe how much it smells like a femme fatale in a film noir? The kind that kicks ass and takes names, not so much the honeypot variant. I like it, but I suspect this will be a special occasion perfume, something to wear when the time is right.

    Brangwy

I bought this for my fiance and a little bit for me because I love blackcurrant and patchouli together. Surprisingly this is lighter than I expected, an older brother of Lyonesse almost, with that sweetness shining through. On him, its sweet leather and pulpy red fruit. On me it is mostly patch with a slight leather hint. Lovely, but not expected.

    Tobacco scents

Just popping in here to gush about how amazing 'Snaky-Hair’d Moirai Many-Form’d' is. Its slightly sweet chewy tobacco smoke with long staying power.

    Snaky-Hair’d Moirai Many-Form’d

I adore this. Adore. It feels like the same incense/tobacco note in St Clare, one that has a depth and warmth to it. Almost feels round, if that makes sense. The vanilla sweetens the scent ever so slightly, but this very much tobacco dominated, which delights me to no end. Picture a sunbeam illuminating a smokey, hazy room and youve got it. I may need another bottle.

    The Small Brown Cat

Warm brown fur, cardamom-infused bourbon vanilla, and a touch of cedarwood. The vanilla in this is very reminiscent of Lyonesse, the spice note reminds me of Dee. Its like a child of the two,and evokes a soft warm feeling of curling under the blankets.

    Azathoth

This was a frimp from a Post purchase. And man am I happy they sent it. Its dairly masculine on me, and the vetiver sings on my skin. I love love vetiver and it usually does nice things for me, and this is no different than usual. The tangerine, which was a worrisome factor, is completely quiet and soft. Well blended and yummy, I love it. GC scents for the win.
