    Cykranosh

This is quite a cute scent. It starts off lots of what smells like grape to my nose, plus some cherry and a little apricot. AS it dries, I briefly get a sour citrus note, then it settles into sugary gummy candy. This really does smell like sniffing a bag of gummi bear candy!! It's not something I'll need a full bottle of, but I'll gladly keep my decant.
  2. Alice is one of my favourites too! I second the above-recommendations, plus: Here's three from the General Catalog: HIGH-STRUNG DAISIES: Daisy, pink carnation, pink pepper, and sugar. This is a sweet, almost candy-like carnation scent. MAIDEN: A gentle vision of purity, goodness and virtue: white tea, carnation and Damask Rose. This is a beautiful carnation scent with hints of tea and rose. QUEEN ALICE: Carnation, posies, and white amber with a hint of inky treacle, sandy cider, and wooly wine. This is a spicy, foody carnation with lots of cider and sweet treacle. Plus three Limited Editions, which may be hard to find, but are worth trying if you do find them: LITTLE FLORA: Peonies and cream. This is a very rich cream scent, with peony. KATRINA VAN TASSLE: White rose and honeyed cream. This is very similar to Alice, minus the carnation. It's a beautiful rose note on a rich, creamy background. KLARA: Honey dusting powder, mandarin, iris, ylang ylang, tea rose, and carnation. I haven't yet tried this, but the reviews said it's similar to Alice.

A Companion Of The Same Nature

“If you consent, neither you nor any other human being shall ever see us again: I will go to the vast wilds of South America. My food is not that of man; I do not destroy the lamb and the kid to glut my appetite; acorns and berries afford me sufficient nourishment. My companion will be of the same nature as myself, and will be content with the same fare. We shall make our bed of dried leaves; the sun will shine on us as on man, and will ripen our food. The picture I present to you is peaceful and human, and you must feel that you could deny it only in the wantonness of power and cruelty. Pitiless as you have been towards me, I now see compassion in your eyes; me seize the favourable moment, and persuade you to promise what. I so ardently desire.” A companion of the same nature: skin musk, red rose petals, mums, carnations, white linen, and sunlit amber on a bed of soft dry leaves. This starts off heavy and the mums and leaves with a little rose and skin musk. As it dries, it gets a bit more musky and softer with hints of the carnation, linen, and amber. The drydown is a lovely skin-and-linen combination. Overall, this is nice enough, especially the drydown stage. It reminds me a lot of several past Halloween scents, like La Catrina Calavera and to a lesser extent, The Death of Autumn. I think I'll hang on to my decant to see how it ages but don't feel the need for a bottle as I have lots of autumn leaf scents in my collection already.

    The Governess

I'm usually not a fan of violet scents, but I love green tea and white musk so I decided to give this scent a try. This starts off green tea and a gentle, powdery violet that seems to be working with my skin chemistry. The white musk dominates the drydown, with a little violet and orchid in the background. This is a very quiet, close-to-the-skin scent, but it lasts for hours. I think I'll hang on to my decant of this, but I don't love it quite enough to get a bottle.

    Mrs. Grose

I think this is my favourite new Yule so far. Mrs. Grose starts off with warm, cozy baking spices - definitely cinnamon and maybe some ginger too? The rosewater comes in next, it's very floral but not perfumey as rose notes occasionally are. The drydown is lots of black tea with a hint of rose and spice. I thought this would be similar to Harlot, but it's much better - more well-blended and warmer and less perfumey. Mrs. Grose smells very much like a rose tea I have and love, and I think I need to upgrade to a bottle.

    Little Flora

I recently discovered I loved BPAL's peony note after someone kindly sent me a sniffie of Lady in a Speckled Pink Kimono. And I was hoping Little Flora would be similar to Katrina Van Tassle, one of my all-time favourites. In the opening stage, Little Flora is a green-stemmed peony with a rich, almost cake-y cream background. The cream fades quickly on me and I'm left with just peony. The peony is a bit more perfume-y than the one in Pink Kimono, but still quite lovely. So far I like this scent so I'll keep my decant, but I don't think I love it enough to upgrade to a bottle.

    Lick It Softly

I've tried every version of Lick It so far, with 2008's Lick It Like You Mean It as my favourite and 2009's Lick It Till It's Sticky the only one I didn't like. This year's version is wonderful and may be my new favourite. There's lots of soft, musky vanilla, the perfect amount of peppermint, and just a little sugar.

    Scent for Halloween?

I also wore Snow White today, she seems to be a popular choice! And my cousin-in-law told me I smelled "really good" when she hugged me.

    Scent for Halloween?

I'm going to wear Grossvater Tanz tonight, and tomorrow is so far undecided.

    Sandalwood Scents

My favourite sandalwood blend is the GC scent Velvet: Envelop yourself in the soft, sensual embrace of gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh. My second favourite is The Harp of Cnoc I'Chosgair. Although it was a LE, it shouldn't be too hard to find: Gilded amber, tiare, golden sandalwood, vanilla, cardamom, and tagetes.

    Black Pumpkin Floss

I love this, it's my favourite of all the Pumpkin Flosses so far. It starts off with lightly-spiced pumpkin candyfloss with a little maple. Then it becomes a smokey, spicy scent with some licorice and what smells to me like a good dose of clove too. I don't really get black currant, hopefully that will come out with aging. I think I need a bottle of this.
  12. TheIceMaiden

    Red Pumpkin Floss

This starts off lightly-spiced pumpkin candyfloss, but then the red fruits (cherry and plum mainly) take over immediately. It stays sweet and juicy for a while, then it dries down to a slightly-bland red licorice scent. I'm on the fence if I want a bottle of this or not, but I will hang onto the decant at least.

    Scent for Halloween?

I'm wearing White Pumpkin Extrait with Pumpkin II 2009 in my Clocket today.

    Beaver Moon 2012

I get a LOT of cheesecake from this and just the tiniest hint of warm mashed apple. I'm hoping the apple will come out more with age, although it is still delicious right now. It's not my favourite version of Beaver Moon (that would be 2010) but I do like this and am glad I decided to order a bottle.

    Pumpkin V

This starts off heavy on the spice with a little pumpkin. The pumpkin fades out, the spice tones down a bit, and I get a lovely vanilla blend. The drydown is a lightly-spiced vanilla. The throw is light, and this doesn't last too long on my skin. I quite like this and hope it will age well, as pumpkin scents usually do (in my opinion). If it does, it may beat Pumpkin II 2009 as my favourite of the Pumpkin Patch scents.

    Evening Stock

This is such a hard scent to describe because it doesn't remind me of any other scent or anything in the BPAL catalog. It does start off lush and a bit perfumey, like other night-blooming flowers, and does smell "purple" as other reviewers have mentioned. Its softer and "greener" in the midstage, and a little sweet in the drydown. I quite like this and am glad I have a decant (and would consider getting a bottle if it was still available). And I think I'll try to grow some next spring.

    The Perilous Parlor

I tried the original 2007 version of this when it came out, but did not like it as I found it too sweet. But I'm glad I decided to try it again because I quite like this year's version. It does start off very sweet pear and vanilla, but the sweetness fades quickly to a more natural pear and vanilla scent. The drydown is a pure, lovely vanilla scent. The throw is very light from start to finish, and the wear length is moderate. I will definitely keep my decant and am considering upgrading to a bottle too.

    Mango-Infused Pumpkin Chai Latte

I've been hoping for a pumpkin chai scent for several years now, and this does not disappoint. It's my favourite of the first set of Weenies. This starts off with a lot of pumpkin and a bit of mango. Next I get the chai spices, very well blended, with a hint of pumpkin. The drydown is milk with a hint of coconut and sugar. (And coconut usually goes sour on me, but it's fine here.) The throw starts off strong, but lightens up quickly and the wear-length is moderate. I didn't get any burning on my wrists either. I quite like this and plan to get a full bottle eventually.

    Pumpkin Hard Candy

This is very similar to The Kingdom of Sweets, with a little Treat #1 thrown in. It starts off slightly-fizzy, sugary orange. Then it settles into a citrus hard candy that reminds me of Treat #1. I don't get pumpkin until drydown, and it's very subtle and not buttery like many other pumpkin blends. This is a cute, fun scent and I'm glad to have tried it.

    Mouse Circus

This scent is so very adorable. It starts off a salty-and-sweet popcorn (like kettle corn) with a hint of wood and vanilla. As it dries, I get pink cotton candy before it settles into a sugared-wood drydown. This is pretty light on me, and my skin sucks it up in no time at all. So I've found that I prefer wearing it in my locket, and it pairs very well with Midway. This is one of my favourite new scents this year, and I'm very glad it's part of the General Catalog.

    Gobo

I agree with some of the previous reviewers, this smells like a creamsicle AND it smells like Lemon-Scented Sticky Bat. Gobo starts out with a tart, iced-lemon scent similar to Sticky Bat. Then I get tangerine and vanilla with the lemon. As it dries, the tangerine and iced lemon fade out, and I get pink grapefruit over vanilla. The grapefruit eventually fades as well and Gobo dries to a lovely vanilla scent. The throw on this is light and close to the skin, and it doesn't last more than a few hours. But I really like this scent, it's innocent and sweet and summery. I think I'd like a full bottle of this eventually, once my decant runs out.

    Candlelight Atmosphere Spray

This is one of the best room sprays I've ever tried from the Post. It's thick, sweet, slightly creamy beeswax with a hint of smoke. It's mysterious, romantic, and beautiful and I'm in danger of running out of my decant since I've been spraying in my bedroom every night. I think I need a full bottle of this (or two, or three!)
  23. TheIceMaiden

    Butterfly Garden Atmosphere Spray

This is so pretty and smells like a summer garden in full bloom - pollen-dusted flowers with a hint of ivy and greenery. I'm not familiar enough with the individual flowers to pick out specific notes. It's so realistic that when I spray it, I expect dozens of butterflies to fly in my window. Very pretty!

    Virgin’s Blood Bath Oil

This bath oil is amazing and is now tied with Snow White as my favourite ever. This smells like a light vanilla-cream note and a blend of different rose notes -sweet pink, rich red, and maybe a little white rose too. I used it in the bath, the throw wasn't overwhelming, but it lasted through the bath, and I can still smell it on my skin after drying off. Virgin's Blood reminds me of Katrina Van Tassle (which is one of my favourite scents), but a bit rosier and less sweet. It's also rosier than another favourite, Alice. And as others have said, its very similar to Victorian Rose Milk v1, but creamier. Love!!!

Oceans of Love and Millions of Kisses Bath Oil

I'm a huge fan of Dracula and Lucy Westerna, and I can't recall why I didn't purchase this when it came out. But I lucked out and got some from the Etsy shop. And I'm glad I did, because this is gorgeous! The main note is a very floral orange blossom. I don't get any honey from this at all. The throw in the bath was moderate-to-light (although it did last through the whole bath) and as a moisturizer, it seems to be pretty strong. This is a sweet, innocent, and playful scent. And I was amused that the label had one of my favourite Lucy quotes on it.
