What do bottles and labels look like?

    Wow. Green is beautiful.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I think my skin must really amp scents then. Because the ones I do just use the cap, it's really potent, often hours later. (Aeaea is a great example of this.) Lately I've been upending my bottle of Dorian for a bedtime scent. (Strange dreams have come from that.) But in the morning, I still smell like it. It's great on days off, when I don't feel like having a shower right away.

Would anyone happen to have the Long Night Moon lunacies yet?

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

I'm finding all sorts of neat threads today... Heh. Nope. I upend the bottle once against each wrist, then apply wrists to opposing inner elbows. It depends on the scent, and how much I want to smell like it. For light ones like Vampire Tears or Phantom Wooer, I'll apply straight to one wrist, rub my wrists together, then rub each wrist on my neck and shoulders. (And in my hair, if there's still a lot of oil to go around...) If it's one that has a lot of throw, I just apply from the edge of the bottle, or the cap. I like the idea with the bobby pins though. I may have to use that in the future.

    Milk Moon 2007

Someone frimped this to me. I've been interested in trying it though, because of the reviews. Generally I like the ones other people don't, so... In the bottle, it was sweet and fruity. Certainly a possibility, I thought. It was not meant to be. On my skin it went a sour-sickly flavour and nauseating. I think I ought to blame this one on the fig - every other fig scent I've tried in the past little while has gone nasty. Will try at a later date to see if it's just my skin acting funky.

Wow. Gorgeous! I didn't expect the Mirror Mirror oils to look like that, but they're still beautiful.

    Pirate Moon

Both in the bottle and on my skin, it's very cologny. I think I would like this better on a man than on myself. Once again, it's an attack of the aquatics that don't work well with me. All I get is aquatics, possibly a bit of the tobacco and that's all. I was hoping for more red musk. I'm still 50/50 though - it might mix well with something which I have yet to try.

    Spiked Punch

If I didn't know better, I would drink this. It really does smell like punch. On my skin I don't get much of the booze, rather it's mostly fruit. I'm not complaining though. Spike on!

    Dragon's Blood

Dragon's Blood.... Rich, powerful..slightly sweet (?) It's a definite red scent. And I can understand why it's in Wrath too.... I knew I would love this one because I was, indeed, frothing at the mouth when I got Wrath. I realize that I now have to get all of the Ars Draconis collection.

    Scent for Halloween?

I didn't get really dressed up today. Just wore my Trick tee to work - and kids will be greeted by it. (And the boozy smell of Spiked Punch. ) whee!

    Orpheus

Orpheus In the bottle it smells a bit woody. Scared? You bet. I'm not fond of cedar. At. All. Upon dabbing on skin, the fruits come out to play. Yay! A sweet, fruity blend. And lasting time! I think I got whiffs of myself for the whole workday. Not to mention that I couldn't stop sniffing my elbow. A definite "love this" from me. Possible 5mL later on.

    Cloister Graveyard in the Snow

Cloister Graveyard in the Snow Snow? I'm there. In the bottle, it smells minty and snowy. I'm sure I can pick up the musks in there, but not much else. Reminiscent of my other snow-themed oils. It's definitely cold; I can picture the snow on the graves. An all around beautiful scent. I can see a bottle of this coming my way.

    Swan Maiden

Swan Maiden I looooove gardenia. Much to my luck today, that is all that came out in her. Unfortunately, my skin eats her up like it's going out of style. It lasted about an hour and a half, but definitely no where near the expectancy as some of my other favorites. Overall, still a wonderful, light oil that I'd wear on a regular basis.

    The Oblation

I realized long ago that I couldn't wear lavender. I was hoping it would take a back seat to the berries and honey. Unfortunately not. But it is a lovely blend in my diffuser. It starts out with a lovely lavender (sleepy time) blend which gives way to the blackberries and honey, but still keeping a soft hint of the lavender. If you can't wear this one, I'd definitely recommend it as a room scent.

    October

October I was afraid to try this one because Death of Autumn just did.not. work on me. In bottle: All I get is dry leaves. (oh no) Wet on skin: Wet, moldy leaves with the faintest hint of smoke in the air. Drydown: This wasn't so bad after about half an hour or so. It turns very musky and bearable on my skin. Quite possibly the sap in it. I should have known that I couldn't wear (many) of the Halloweenies. I'm still 50/50 on October. Maybe aging it would help....

    Vampire Tears

Vampire Tears In the bottle: Upon first whiff, I get a blast of creaminess. I'm not sure where it comes from, exactly, because it smells foody. Almost like Misk U. (At this point, I was afraid to try it.) On skin: Very grapefruity, not a sweet grapefruit. More like the sour ones I try to avoid getting. (ack!) I'm glad this stage didn't last very long. I was prepared for grapefruit, but not the power this one is packing. Drydown: I think it's the tea and ginger at this point. It's very soft, and no longer tangy or creamy/foody. Unfortunately, it's not very powerful and faded over the course of my lunch hour. Love it, but will have to cart the bottle (or one of my two frimps ) with me if I'm to wear it to work and want to smell like it all day.

    The Hamptons

The Hamptons I've never had a Cosmopolitan before, but it definitely smells like a drink. Sweet and tart, both on skin and in the bottle. Oddly, on my skin, it reminded me of a yellow Sweet Tart candy. This one is such a fun scent, I couldn't give it up.

    Zephyr

In the bottle, I can definitely pick out the white musk and vanilla. I can't smell citrus from Zephyr at all, which is a bit of a disappointment for me. Wet on skin, the florals pop out. It's quite a potent blend on my wrist. Dry: I can still smell a lot of vanilla and still no citrus. I think I'll pass on this.

    The Death of Autumn

I hadn't tried any of these notes before, so it was a real shot in the dark. In the bottle, dead leaves. Very dark, almost forbidding. Wet on skin, still very dark..almost nauseating ( ) I can't pick out any single note, it just smells like rotting leaves on me. Drydown: Spicy, which was surprising considering I had to fight not to wash it off right away. A pleasant surprise. I'm not sure if I'll keep this one yet. Have to decide if I can handle the drydown period before it starts to smell gorgeous on my skin.

    Eve

EVE: I wanted to love this one. I'm quite fond of apple blossom. At first sniff in the bottle, I can definitely find the rose and ylang ylang. On my skin, it goes soapy. To be honest, it reminds me of my grandmother's house. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I don't want to smell like the memory of granny. It doesn't change much from the time of putting it on to hours later. I still smell the same.

    Undertow

I avoided Undertow for so long because aquatics either love me, or don't. In the bottle: It definitely has that aquatic scent to it, with a faint hint of floral and mint. Wet on skin: The mint takes over everything. I'm not complaining - I love minty scents! Minutes later, the mint takes the back seat and makes way back to the aquatics and florals, which I wasn't prepared for. Dry on skin: The aquatic dies down to a lovely floral with a hint of mint scent. Lovely! Unfortunately, this one doesn't have much staying power. I put this on before dinner, and it's already gone.

    Doc Constantine (2006)

In the bottle: Very woody. Wood scents make me wary, but I applied it anyway. On skin: The wood fades away to musk. Sort of a dusty, old cabin in the wood sort of scent. Strange, but not completely unpleasant. It's almost definitely a male scent. I'd love to have one of my guy friends try it.

    Zombi

In the bottle - cool, dry, and earthy. On skin - still very earthy, but not quite as dry.. It's almost like moss just after a light rain shower. Overall - a very calming scent for me. Normally I don't/can't wear earthy scents, but this one comes off very pleasant on my skin.

    The Phantom Wooer

The Phantom Wooer - not much change from the bottle to skin. Overall it's a very cool, light floral. When first applied to my skin, it has A LOT of throw, unfortunately it doesn't last very long. About an hour later, I couldn't smell it on me anymore. A definite keep, definitely love. Wish it would stay around longer though.
