    Ho Ho Ho

what can i say about this that hasn't already been said? it's warm and musky and fruity and spicy and it has just a teeeeeny hint of pine on me. the fruit might be apple or pear or both, the spicyness is like cinnamon and clove but very warm and muted. everything is really well mixed and you get wiffs of different scents at different times. it's just lovely really, i'm so thrilled with it

    Champagne and Cigars

oh, what a surprise! This is my favorite of the three scents. It's FRESH-rolled cigars and champagne. the champagne note is either less strong or better balanced then in champagne, chocolate and cheap sex ... this is balanced very nicely. the efforvescent quality is offset with a sweet (non-foody) earthy quality of fresh rolled cigars - not a smokey note to my nose, much more fresh tobacco if you ask me. Really interesting and unique, i've never smelled anything like this before ... and i like it!

    Champagne, Chocolate, and Cheap Sex

I just smell champagne. I get a teeeeeeny bit of chocolate somewhere mid-drydown but not much (have to bury my nose in my arm). I don't know if it's my chemistry but i get something borderline lemony in there too. Maybe the "cheap sex" is the something vaguely musky in dry-down, i don't know, i mostly smell bubble efforvescent fizzy champagne throught!

    Eggnog Latte

spicy coffee! it's warm and spicy and i smell cocoa and coffee and something a little bit creamy. My husband says it smells like gingersnaps, snickerdoodles and coffee. this is wonderful and a total keeper. Get this if you loved Bah! or Egge'd Mailbox since to me it smells like a combination of those two scents. i love eggnog latte!

    Humbug

it's pretty much all anise/licorice on me. No morphing, just straight up licorice. I just don't have a lot to say about it i guess ... uh, it's fairly strong and lasts a while.

    Mole

soft, warm, earthy, powdery sandalwood I don't get much of the "cologne" other people are mentioning but it does have a subtle masculinity. on my skin it has a dry musky quality ... like musk and paper? the sandalwood is soft and sweet, without any "smoke" notes. a very quiet and muted blend. my husband thought it was really nice and sensual on me (lol).

    Candy Phoenix

ok, first of all this is nothing like Sticky Pillowcase on me because that has a burned-sugar note (for me). This smells much more like Treat #1 - very much like jolly ranchers! But unlike Treat (which smells of watermelon) this smells like maybe strawberry and pear and ... something else i can't place. it is quite fizzy and efforvescent. final thoughts: friuty, fizzy, sweet (but not heavy sweetness, nothing plasticky etc). KEEPER!

    Bah!

I smell coffee and a bit of creamy dark chocolate - and not creamy in the milky sense because it does smell quite dark and delicious, but it doesn't have any of that artificial chocolate coco scent to it if you know what i mean. very rich and wonderful. i don't smell whiskey so it must be very well integrated. just up-front amazing, i'd say this my favorite inqisition blend this year

    Fruitcake

this has a foody sweetness that Eat Me has, luckily without any "burnt sugar" notes that sweet scents tend to develop on me. It's quite sweet and almost syrupy (maybe cherry notes?). the scent is very concentrated.

I Fell in Love with a Floating Brain

oh i love it! it's a little bit Cheshire moon, a little bit beaver moon, a tiny bit strawberry moon (but NOT plastic-y) and just a wee drop of carnation SN. It's sweet but not too, the citrus is balanced with the sweetness and the carnation makes it just spicy enough. it's what i would consider a mild scent w/ citrus being dominant at first and the warm carnation being more dominant later. love it!

    Rangoon Riptide

this does have a sort of brown-sugar sweetness to it, making the fruits sort of syrupy. more fruity/juicy on the drydown definately. sort of carelessly sexy ;p

    Screeching Parrot

lime and ginger are the top notes for me. middle notes seem to be green and fruity booze like in Spiked Punch. Really quite light and fresh and fruity, not at all sweet. refreshing!

    Cheshire Moon

this is quite fruity, but with a sweetness that's very creamy. If i had to describe it i'd say it was a bowl full of exotic fruit with a dollop of cream. eaten in Hawaii

    The Flower Song

sweet and floral. can't put my finger on the floral, it's a little earthy and not as aquatic as i'd hoped for somehow. there's also something in there that smells to me like "unscented" lip balm O_O kind of an odd scent that i wasn't expecting, guess you'll have to smell it yourself! edit: this is an especially long lasting blend by the way, 5 hours later it's still going strong. impressive!

    La Vita Nuova

aquatic, fruity and just a bit of floral - the floral is very like the floral in Amsterdam. Light and "green" without any of the heavyness or headyness usually associated with rose.

    Love's Philosophy

i'm really not sure how to describe this other than vanilla frosting! it's not cake-y or buttercream though, it's a bit lighter than that. I guess the saffron is in there towards the back as something very slightly and softly spicy, but not so's you'd notice too much. very foody, but gentle and not overwhelmingly rich. this is every bit as lovely as i'd hoped it would be. winner!

    Earth Rat

Did you love Fire Pig? Did you want it to smell more of melon maybe? then this is for you. Has a lot of the efforvescence of Fire Pig but where that one was more citrus-y, this one smells a bit less floral on me (at least at the onset), with a stronger dose of what i think is the bamboo and abig dose of melon (melon is somehwere between the melon in Yemaya and Fee - i can't quite make it out because of the blending). Big hit for me. love the rat!

    Sassafras

birch beer! or rootbeer i guess it's so neat, it's an almost foody non-sweet scent, something people who like resinous scents and peppermint type scents might like.

    El Dia de los Reyes

starts out smelling like coffee and cinnamon rolls ... but with my body chemistry it winds up smelling like pipe tobacco. one for the locket for sure.

    Chanukkiyah

One of my favorites from this year's update. I smell honey, but it's not overpowering, a tiny bit spicy (fig?), there is a secondary sweetness in there that's foody but it doesn't have the heavy sugar or burnt sugar scent that some BPAL "foody" scents have. This is amore wearable foody scent and i highly recommend it!

    Pinched With Four Aces

i wish it smelled on em like it smells in the bottle - because in the bottle i get a creamy sweet nutty sort of scent like i did with Storyville - on me it's all tobacco wrappers and something like cologne w/ a bit of toffee. No coffee (I didn't get any w/ Misc U either though) and only a hint of sweet vanilla.

    Fire Pig

yay! what a wonderfully happy fruity blend! Reminds me of Thalia, except more peachy/orangy, but also has that sparking sweet fruit sort of *ping* to it that i'm in love with. light and happy, but with good throw and staying power, a light floral and juicy citrus fruit w/ a little bit of sweet fruit. Tangy and fabulous, perfect to wear in the winter when you'd rather be on a sunny beach eating some sort of ripe tropical fruit.

    Mandarin Orange

wow, not a lot of reviews for this one. Well the oil i have has obviously aged significantly ... in that time i think it's changed a bit - it's sweeter and less "orange peel" than the reviews from '04 and '05 would suggest. But still does a disappearing act. 1 hour and completely *poof*

    Vampire Tears

a Citrusy-tea mix fading to inscence-y floral. What i smell first is the grapefruit, it's almost as strong as in June Gloom, only less lemony and with a note similar to the very light inscence in Cathedral - there is something just slightly sweet and something subtley floral in the background. In the drydown the citrus/grapefruit tone way down and all those background notes come forward. It's a soft complex scent that makes me think of Kumiho mixed with Cathedral, but fading to Cathedral and some minor floral notes.

    Scorpio 2007

something between Minotaur and S. Mond so if you liked those two you will desperately need this. deep and dark and resin-y but somehow not too dark to be like curb-stomping your nose. there's also a sexy sweetness in there. super sexy yum!
