Frimp from the lab. Lovely and delicious honeydew melon. As it dries down, it does get a hint of floral to it and the grape pops up too. Reminds me of the grape in Titania. Like this a hell of a lot and will eventually get a bottle!

    Lawful

Lawful was very woody and herbal on my skin. Not really what I dig. I was hoping some of the chamomile or rhubarb would come out to play. I'll probably play around with layering this with the other RPGs I bought, but on it's own, I couldn't see myself putting this on.

    Good

Musky sweet honey, a little bit floral. I used to think honey was one of my death notes, but Elf also had honey (well, honeycomb ) in it and that one worked on me too. I like this one a lot more than I thought I would. Very pretty and pleasant! I'd gladly wear this by itself. I wish it had more vanilla though.

    Thanatos

Frimp from the lab. Smoky, woody, floral, and a little bit sweet. Good staying power too! For some strange reason, it made me remember my old favorite, Queen Mab. I think it's because Thanatos contains a couple of notes (sandalwood and rose) that Queen Mab had. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who liked QM. I probably wouldn't have ordered this on my own because I thought I didn't like incense blends, but maybe I should rethink that. Thanks to the lab for frimping me this!

    Neutral

A sweet clean musk. I don't think I would wear this on it's own, but the RPG scents are meant to be worn together anyway! Can't wait to combo this with the other RPGs I like.

    Cleric

Incensey, woodsy, sweet. This blend plays very well on my skin. Normally, I'm totally not a resin/incense sort of person but frankincense seems to play very nicely on my skin, as well as myrrh. Of course, I also do well with florals too, especially rose. This is a beautiful blend and it does a great job at evoking the image of a cleric in my mind.

    Paladin

First applied on my skin, it's all white musk with frankincense and vanilla coming up the rear. As it dries down, the white musk calms down a bit and I do get what I believe is a tiny peep of leather playing in the background. I'm not sure what shining armor should smell like, but I really love this! Paladin is my favorite class in World of Warcraft and on top of that, this one had a lot of notes in it that play very well on my skin. Love it.

    Elf

Soft, woodsy, sweet, musky, clean. As it stays longer on my skin, the berry definitely starts to pop out. This would totally be a wood elf scent. Can't wait to layer this with my other RPG scents! I tend to play Elves/elven like creatures in the various online games I enjoy.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Ah, those pesky hormones! I'm thinking about asking my dr for a try on those, as well, as my skin is rebellious even at 41. Good to hear you're healing! Mae Yeah, the birth control is working out great. I had very heavy somewhat tortuous periods so it's pretty much killing two problems with one stone. The nasty cystic zits I have now that I'm not applying perfume to those areas are almost totally gone now so I am happy. And I can still enjoy my perfume. All is well.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I actually saw my doc about the acne problem I was having back in January but I didn't make the perfume oil connection until just a few days ago. I'm on birth control for my acne since I didn't want to take anti-biotics and my skin tends to have bad reactions to benzoyl peroxide. Every spot on my face has cleared up except my chin, neck, and chest... Which are now healing nicely now that I'm not applying my perfume oils to those spots. @ Mae - I actually thought that it could be my make up too! So I stopped wearing it for several weeks, and the acne was still going strong. I know there's no bismuth in the foundation I use though. I specifically bought a mineral make up that didn't contain it. @ AmandaArcana - I'll have to try just applying to my wrists from now on and see what happens! I know the skin on the chest and neck are similar to your facial skin, so maybe those parts are just too sensitive for perfume oils.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

Hmmm, it could be! These spots I've been getting on my face, chest, and neck are these large cystic feeling lumps that actually come to a head just like a zit would. And, here comes the icky part, when they come to a head and pop, they ooze the typical white puss that I get from regular old zits. I can't seem to find any eczema pictures that look like what I have though... I don't get any itching or anything like that which is supposed to be the first symptom of eczema. I'm thinking I'm probably going to order a scent locket because I totally don't want to give up my BPAL!

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

So I have, unfortunately, realized that my beloved and wonderful perfume oils are... what have been causing my acne. I've been getting really bad acne on my chin, neck, and chest lately and I just could not figure out for the life of me why it was so bad. Until I tested to see if it was my perfume oil. I did a test on my inner arm, a place I normally never ever get any kind of acne, and then little zits started popping up. I don't apply perfume oil to my face, but I wonder if because sometimes I would dab some on my neck before bed, it would rub off on my pillow and end up on my face? I don't have any acne anywhere else on my face other than the chin, neck, and chest now. And I would always apply the oil to my neck and chest. It's strange because I've never seen anyone talk about their BPAL or any kind of perfume oils causing their skin to break out in zits. I've seen discussion about allergies to certain notes but nothing like this. Has anyone had experience with this?

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Now I don't know what Armani Code for women smells like but when I saw this, what first popped into my mind was Jezebel. A gloriously decadent blend of honey, roses, orange blossom and sandalwood.
  14. My absolute favorite tea scent so far is Ehecatl: "Hibiscus, matcha, white musk, and lime" Matcha is green tea used in the Japanese tea ceremony. I'd say Ehecatl is Embalming Fluid's cousin with lime instead of lemon. I'd also have to say Ehecatl is probably one of my top ten scents, period. Shanghai, Kumiho, and Maiden are on my "to try" list.

    Manhattan

In the bottle this scent is lemon and... chocolate? It smells kinda like dark chocolate to me! Is that the leather?! I'm baffled! Same on my skin on the initial application. As it dries down it gets more floral with the grapefruit over taking the lemon peel and the white tea lingering closely behind. That chocolate like scent has pretty much disappeared. This does smell very elegant. The wet and initial application phases made me iffy of putting this into my rotation but the dry down is very pretty. I do believe the orchid coming out to play helps since orchid seems to smell really nice on me.

    The Hanging Gardens

Got this as a frimp and was excited because I did want to try this. Love fruits, love florals, this should be a winner? Nope. In the bottle is smelt super sweet. On my skin, it had a fake chemical banana type smell, like those fake banana candies I've seen in little gumball machines. As it dries down it goes from fake banana to generic floral candle with a strange spice to it. It's not an unpleasant smell, but it's definitely not what I was hoping for.

    The Last Unicorn

In the imp and when wet, the white chocolate stands out the most. On my intial application to my skin, the lilac wafts around behind the chocolate. The coconut comes out to play now too in a big way. It's also getting more floral and the chocolate is starting to fade into the background. Coconut seems to be the most prominent note on my skin with a floral background and just a smidgen of the white sandalwood. This is a lovely scent and I do think it's befitting of The Last Unicorn.

    The Butterfly

Fuzzy, brown, sweet, and I would agree that this is a gender neutral scent although I find it to be more on the masculine side. I have no idea what petitgrain smells like, but I can definitely detect all the other notes. The bergamot fades more into the background as this dries down on me, with the tonka being the most prominent note and the amber coming in close after. I would love to swipe a little of this on a man.

    The Lilac Wood

Lilac, greenery, and fresh. This is a really lovely scent. I've always loved the scent of lilacs but... Oddly enough, I don't like this on me! I really like it in the imp, but I can't see myself wearing it! So odd considering how fond I am of the flower. My mother really liked this one a lot too, so I gave it to her. My mom and I have very similar skin chemistry so it smelled on her the way it did on me. The lilac really came out on the both of us with the greenery gently wafting around in the background.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

Black Opal is a wonderful vanilla and I usually am not crazy about vanilla scents!

    What's the best coconut blend?

Roses, Pearls and Diamonds is a wonderful coconut with a bit of rose and pretty musk. Omg, so freaking nice. One of my favs. I really wanna give a try to Black Pearl too. I know someone mentioned that Black Opal had a coconut smell to it but it was more vanilla to me.

    Seraphim

Warm, white floral. The rose is very subtle. The lily stands out the most on intial application. The dry down gets a little powdery, which is most likely due to the sandalwood, but it doesn't get overly so. This is a very pretty scent, I think it would be great for spring/summer. This scent makes me think of a warm, sunny room with clean white walls and a vase of white flowers.

    Dance of Death

No idea about the notes, I like to give my initial impressions on my frimps. This is... sort of sweetish. And there's something in there that's like... mentholated to my nose? It makes my nose feel cold sniffing it. The sweet scent sort of reminds me of bubble gum. Okay, looking at the notes, I'm not sure what to make of it! This is a very interesting blend and that cold mentholated feel works for a scent called "Dance of Death". It evokes the image very well, in my opinion. I think I'd really have to be in spooky mood to wear this blend though. It's not as offensive to me, as patchouli and "dark" musk blends usually make me go "BLARG" for the most part. Although, now, it's giving me a minor headache.

    Anne Bonny

Woody, spicy, manly! Reminds me of this guy I see at work every morning, he comes in smelling like he rolled around in the woods. This was a frimp from the lab so I have absolutely no idea what notes are in it... Till now! I'm not surprised that there's patchouli and sandalwood in this at all. This scent isn't offensive or anything, but it's not me. I do think fans of woody sort of scents would like this though.

    Snow White

Snow White 2010: Well... This wasn't anything like I thought it would be at all. I thought for sure it would be something I like from reading all the reviews but I'm getting that "plastic" note that other people have found in this blend. You know, it's not even quite "plastic" but it's very close to it. I'm wondering if this is the "snow" note in the blend that's feeling like plastic. Other than that, I'm getting a very nice vanilla with a minor almost "not there" hint of florals. If the "plastic" wasn't there, this would be something enjoyable. The longer it stays on my skin, the less "plastic" like it gets. Unfortunately, it is still lingering there under the surface. People say this blend ages very nicely, so maybe I'll check back on it in a couple of months and see what happens.
