  1. I'm one of those people who loves BB/RR but can't really wear it because there's something just a little too heavy in it for the high note - it might be the vanilla. But ever since @Bluestblood let me sample her BB HG when I visited, I have been absolutely in love with the chewy spices in it. This trois is literally the chewy spices from BB/RR without the vanilla and I am in love. I almost don't want to post this so that other people knowbecause I need to go buy more bottles.

  2. Caraway forever!!! The sandalwood is a little acrid when wet and it just smells like kind of sour spices, but it dries down more subtle. I think I'm going to have to retest this on a part of my skin that isn't quite so dry. Will report back.

  3. I get like... grasses and musk and some fruit from this? It hits a strong "new england fall" vibe, but I can't pick out the pumpkin or anything else specific. I think it smells a lot like something I wore in college, but heck if I can remember which bpal it's hearkening back to. Nice, but definitely not strong on the pumpkin.

  4. Definitely a very perfume-y tea scent, as described. I don't actually get much smell on the drydown when I sniff my skin, but I keep getting wafts of very cologne type cream and tea. It's actually pretty nice, although not what I expected. There was some citrus when wet but I'm not getting anything dry. This will probably be a keeper, but has enough volume to the high notes that it won't be a scent I can wear with a headache.

  5. I don't even know how to put into words how this smells, except like Christmas. I love it so much. I'm definitely getting the gingerbread from last year's gingerbread series, and the rest is a subtle cologne that just smells "red" and woody. It's very close to the skin on me, but I get wafts every so often and it's perfect.

  6. On skin, most of what I get after a bit is dusty patchouli. Not a winner on my skin chemistry - it's not super pleasant.

In my scent locket, though, I get purple sage and vanilla with whiffs of dusty coffee. It's amazing. There was an Apricot Lane boutique at the mall in my hometown that always had this lovely signature smell, but I could never remember to ask what it was - this is that smell! I'm in love with it on a locket.

  7. I want to love this - I love sassafrass as a perfume, I love zombi... and it turns my stomach so badly I can't even deal with considering smelling it again to see if it's morphed. There's something about the food / dirt combination that takes me literally to gagging. Sigh.

  8. The first whiff of this I get from the bottle is that leathery, sweet-but-dry scent of old taxidermy in arid museum halls. It's a scent I like, but was totally not expecting... and I'm sad it doesn't last upon application.

I definitely get something sweet and a bit of masculine 'spicy' notes that aren't actual spices. It dries down to a light, musky vanilla.

  9. A playful, soft brown musk with balsam leather, wild juniper, lavender, and sweet sage.

This is not what I expected, but it's beautiful. I put it on right out of the mail so it may develop even more as it settles.

Immediately after putting it on, I started wondering which of our current houseguests had used a scented lotion that I had touched. It took a moment to realize it was wafting off my wrist!

I'm getting something oddly floral but snuggly from Jojo, wafting as I move. I think it's the sage, this gorgeous heady high note that codes as floral but without the headache I get from flowers. When I sniff closer to my wrist I get musk and juniper, a little bit on the aquatic side, and only hints of leather.

I can't wait to try this again after it rests. It's gorgeous and strange already.

  10. Out of the bottle this like, a pure butter accord and it's gross. Once it dries, I get a sweet... something. I can't pick out any of the notes, it's not super musky and weirdly enough the honey isn't doing it's normal screaming thing on me. I"ll have to retest it.
