  1. A lot of my favorite GCs have been mentioned already (Snake Oil, Dee, Old Scratch, and Dorian) but I'll throw in a few other faves that haven't been mentioned yet: Perversion is my go-to sexy scent, it's feminine but also has this amazing dark tobacco base to it. A very good introduction into BPAL's tobacco note. Halfling is my favorite non-cocoa foodie scent, it's creamy and nutty but has this hint of something sweet that I can only describe as "floral dried blueberries" even though it's definitely not fruity.

    The Language of Crows

This is way more foodie than I was expecting! The tobacco is really dark and smooth, and together with the caramelized sugar creates a sticky-sweet molasses-like aroma. It's medium-low throw means that I get constant whiffs throughout the day, but no one around me is overpowered by the sweetness. As a fan of sweet tobacco blends, this hits it out of the park for me!

    Snake Skin

While wet, this is WHA-BAM in your face leather. That sort of super clean, sharp leather that almost leans into cherry-cough-syrup territory. I was a bit terrified that my skin chemistry was ruining this, but after about ten minutes that sharpness starts to ebb and the snake oil comes out to play. The leather gets worn down and warmed up by the dark vanilla, and it melds into a beautiful unisex scent that is sexy as heck. I think the sharp leather note will age out pretty gracefully, but even if it doesn't, the drydown is so perfect I won't be too bothered!
  4. This scent broke my heart, because when wet it is the most beautiful dark, slightly bitter cocoa mixed with expensive bourbon that is just magnificent. But after a few minutes the booziness and caramel start to amp, and by the time it's dry I smell so strongly of syrup-y whiskey that I wouldn't trust myself to operate heavy machinery. If your chemistry does well with boozy notes, this scent is gorgeous! It just doesn't seem to like me

    Jack

Wet, this smells like a pumpkin marshmallow, soft and sweet and very gourmand. As it dries down, the peach comes out more to turn it into a lovely pumpkin-peach pie fresh from the oven (is that a thing? Because I would eat that). There's a hint of spice running through it, but mostly it's just peachy-pumpkin-y pastry goodness. It breaks my heart that this has no staying power! After 3 hours, I'm only barely getting a waft of it when my wrist gets anywhere near my face, which is such a shame. However, I like it so much I may still grab a bottle and just slather as needed.

    Blood Kiss

Received this scent as a frimp from the Lab. This is a dark, sticky-sweet honey and clove on me, with just a hint of red wine and musk. The honey is very similar to my '16 Womb Fury, rich and warm without being too gourmand, but the clove is overpowering any cherry or wine. I like it, but don't desperately need a bottle.

    Road to Versailles at Louveciennes

I LOVED this for the first hour, a very sophisticated, sweet frankincense with the barest hint of something herbal. But in hour two, the sandalwood and musk take over, creating a very dry, powdery scent that is not awful, but not what I wanted. This decant might end up as a locket scent, since I'm 99% sure it's my chemistry ruining it on dry-down. EDIT: a few hours later, the vanilla is peeking out again, giving the sandalwood a little more sweetness, but it's still too powdery for me.

    Voodoo

Wet: Almond! A slightly sharp, medicinal almond, like sniffing a bottle of almond extract. There's also a hint of pine in the background, grounding the almond a bit. Dry: HOLY MOTHER OF MYRRH Y'ALL. I am amping the myrrh and clove like nothing I have ever amped before, and it is NOT a good thing. This is so flipping strong it's given me a headache, and that's only from the small dab on one wrist from the imp wand. The pine and almond have completely disappeared, and the lime and vanilla are nowhere to be found. On me this is Lush's Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds plus clove (though Blue Skies is frankincense, not myrrh).
