About Me

What to say about me? I'm honestly never sure what to say in these.

I'm a nerd with a love of books that spans everything from comics to Shakespeare (and a BA in English lit, to boot!), a gamer both tabletop and computer, a would-be writer and artist with what seems like a million little projects scattered about in some state of completion. I love to cook, I've been working on a little garden so I can finally have fresh produce to work with, and I've begun to try my hand at things like canning, jam-making, pickling, and the like.

I'm always getting called "cat" or "kitten" by someone, occasionally accused of being a sneaky ninja, and am terribly good at scaring the heck out of people by mysteriously appearing out of nowhere beside them. It's never intentional, it just seems to happen--I swear! ;)

I'm Japanese-German-Puerto Rican, but I've grown up mostly associating with my Japanese heritage thanks to family trips and my grandmother instilling a healthy respect for our family's history and culture in me. I know very little of any of the languages, though I have tried to learn, but I happily immerse myself in history, culture, and especially food when given a chance. Thankfully, my fiance is half-Japanese himself, and doesn't think I'm crazy when I suggest going out to a ramen shop, or start chattering about samurai culture, or try to convince him to play go with me.
