    Titania

Titania smells like cold fruit cocktail, sweet pea, and a subtle waft of rose musk. White grape is the dominant fruit, followed closely by the pear. If fairies went to middle school, this is what they would smell like. Painfully pretty, but I don't know when I'd ever wear this. I just can't seem to let it go... I've been enchanted by the fae fruit cocktail!

    Yellow Jessamine Honey

I have a bunch of different Rappaccini's Apiary imps from many moons ago (10+ years) that I never tested, so here goes. Ooooh, yes, this is the good stuff. Needless to say, you must like jasmine in order to appreciate this one, because it is a heady and sweet gooorgeous jasmine. The honey here is pale golden and floral (finally no throat lozenges), and extremely enduring. It overtakes the jasmine after a decent amount of wear, and I can still smell it almost 24 hours later. The comparisons to LUSH's Flying Fox make sense, but Yellow Jessamine Honey is softer, sweeter, and just overall better. The honey in Flying Fox always smelled funky to my nose, this does not. I'll certainly be keeping my imp of this, but won't be too depressed about it being discontinued since I don't tend to wear honey-forward scents. It's a wonderful jasmine, though!

    Tenochtitlan

Tenochtitlan is interesting in that it begins as a juicy, fruity, green scent and morphs into the opposite -- arid and spicy. Wet, it's prickly pear forward with a slap of fresh greens from the hyssop and coriander. It has the same feel as Mean Green Production Project during this stage. It doesn't take long (five minutes or so) for it to turn intensely spicy on my skin. The juiciness fades away and I'm left with spicy, dry amber and sage with a hint of pear. I can't detect any floral, wet or dry. I highly prefer the wet stage, and it's too brief for me to consider wearing this again. I'll be passing on my imp.

    Whitechapel

Whitechapel opens with a blast of zesty lime that quickly peters out and makes way for a strong white musk. The citron and lilac are present, but this is mostly about the white musk on me. Decent wear length, I can still smell it lingering faintly after four hours. Old-fashioned and not particularly masculine, clean without being soapy.

    Daphne Honey

I have a bunch of different Rappaccini's Apiary imps from many moons ago (10+ years) that I never tested, so here goes. I'm getting honey throat lozenges again, this time with a sharp white floral that eventually amps up its sweetness to unbearable levels. I haven't smelled Daphne flowers before, but whatever I'm smelling here is sticky candy sweet and I want no part of it. Sorry, little imp.

    Black Hellebore Honey

I have a bunch of different Rappaccini's Apiary imps from many moons ago (10+ years) that I never tested, so here goes. This one inexplicably smells like LUSH's You Snap the Whip plus honey throat lozenges. So, there may be cassis in this? There is a sort of rubbery medicinal aspect to it. Herbal and lightly fruity rather than floral.

    Black Lily

As far as I'm concerned, this is the most perfect lily fragrance in the whole world. I have a poor track record with lilies, they tend to go sharp and screechy, but this is magic. Creamy, pollen-y, fresh lilies, and I swear there is some dark musk here and maybe a bit of vanilla. Alluring, whatever it is. This perfume is the best way to huff a lily, and you won't even get pollen on your nose.

    Voodoo Lily

Spicy orange, almost fizzy, with sharp white lilies far in the background. Really, there is barely any lily here. Pomanders with a splash of cola is the best way I can describe it. Not what I was expecting!

    The Dormouse

Testing an imp of unknown age, but I believe it to be quite old. This is extremely faint. I can smell both white and green teas, but they lack the crisp and refreshing qualities that normally give them appeal, and are instead rather bitter. I'd be hard pressed to pick out any herbs, but there is a wisp of peony after it's dried down on the skin. Not a winning tea blend for me, sadly.

    White Rabbit

If you're looking for crisp, peppery tea with a splash of milk, get 'er fresh. Gingery milk with a splash of tea? You want it aged. I enjoy White Rabbit at all stages of life, and think it's always perfect to wear whilst curled up with a book. Linen oddly never makes much of a presence on me in any version.

    Grasshopper Pie

Wet, this is bang-on Mint Oreo pie, whipped cream and all. Unfortunately, my skin chemistry turns it into plastic, but I'm sure it would be gourmand wizardry on the right person. It does have good throw, so I may try it in a locket.

    Bread-and-Butter-Fly

When I was little, my mom would make me sugar bread (just like it sounds, buttered white bread with sugar) as a special treat. This is sugar bread + anise, and I love it. I get a bit emotional wearing Bread-and-Butter-Fly, and I'm grateful to have a few imps to help me relive that part of my childhood.

    Alice's Evidence

Yum, plump spiced prunes and piquant quince. If you haven't smelled quince before, it's pear-like with a tart bite. I agree there is something more to the spice than just ginger, it reminds me of old-fashioned Christmases, or what I imagine they would have smelled like. Some sort of mulling spices going on. It's very quince-y in the drydown stage. If it was a president, it'd be John Quincy Adams. Excuse my sense of humor. I'll need to tuck this away for the fall/winter.

    Croquet

In a word, whimsical. Vibrant candied citrus and nectarine partnered with mellow rose, bergamot, and a generous dose of sage. The citrus is not zesty, but playfully bright and almost creamy. Unfortunately, it's just about as skittish as my cat, and fades quickly. My hedgehogs must be extra ornery because that musk amps to extreme levels until it's all I can smell. Too much for me, even as a musk lover. I need to try this in my scent locket because I love the candied citrus + sage phase. The musk powderbomb, not so much.

    Drink Me

This surprisingly doesn't do much morphing on me. It opens with a bright pineapple note, which slowly recedes as the toffee and butter take over. There is also quite a bit of spice, and I have no idea where it's coming from. I tested both new and aged imps out of curiosity, and I didn't get turkey from either one, just pineapple and buttery toffee. Too sweet for me, but fun to test!

    High-Strung Daisies

Uncomplicated cute floral. A mischievous daisy plays peekaboo and then dips out. This is almost all peppery pink carnation, and yes, it's slightly bubblegummy. I'll keep my imp, but don't find it necessary to upgrade because I have Teenagering to fulfill my sweet carnation needs.

    Blackcurrant Sufganiyot

This actually smells more like lingonberry preserves to me than black currant. More tart than Raspberry Suf, but still quite sweet. I haven't been able to smell much pastry from any of the Sufganiyots, but this the only one that goes temporarily plasticky.

    Invisible Man Milk

I've spent so much time trying to figure out how to describe this. There is something clinical about it to my nose, like a powdered medical glove filled with sweetened condensed milk. Or maybe the glove-flavored candy from Glove World. Much sweeter than I expected, with a strong clean musk.

    Raspberry Sufganiyot

If Blueberry Sufganiyot is blurple, then Raspberry Sufganiyot is a bright magenta. Sweet and tart glossy raspberry gloop, it's sooo good. It reminds me of the raspberry Jell-O salad my mom has made every Thanksgiving as far back as I can remember (yes, I am from the upper midwest, haha). There is a smidge more pastry than Blueberry Suf, and a similar powdered sugar drydown. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the same staying power on me. Even so, I think this is my favorite fruit Sufganiyot. For what it's worth, I find Golletes sweeter and more strawberry-ish.

    Blueberry Sufganiyot

This is most certainly a BLURPLE scent, an artificial but enjoyable grapey blueberry jelly, and it is on steroids. Definitely the strongest Sufganiyot of the ones I've tried (Raspberry, Blackcurrant, Snake Oil, Dorian). Blueberry Sufganiyot is light on the pastry, as others have noted, and dries down to a realistic powdered sugar with a hint of blueberry goo.

    A Boy and His Zombie

I never can resist a perfume with marshmallow listed in the notes. I included this in my Weenie decant order, even though I knew the marshmallow wouldn't be as loud as the lime and cherry. I wasn't wrong, those fruit candies are poppin'. Because the cherry and lime are so fragrant, this reminds me of hard candy in its liquid state, still boiling. Oops! Some lime was mistakenly added to the cherry pot, but hey, that smells reaaaally nice. It takes a while for the marshmallow to emerge, but it's a true marshmallow in all its creamy saccharine glory. Candy scents don't usually have much lasting power on my skin, but this one surprised me by lingering from afternoon to late evening. It packs a wallop!

    How Doth the Little Crocodile

Warning: this might make you hungry. I wore it the other evening, and got up in the middle of the night to eat a mint chocolate chip Klondike Bar. This is not a nose-tingling mint scent. The pistachio is actually the strongest note on me initially, supported by creamy chocolate mint, and the cedar gains power over time. At its peak, the cedar ventures into pencil territory, but only briefly. I love me some oakmoss, but it's buried deeply here (it did greet me the morning after, all by its lonesome). I really dig this cedary gourmand, possibly even more than Tombstone. I'll definitely keep my imp, but will need to make sure I've had a full meal before slathering!
  23. I'm probably insane, but Uruk smells SO MUCH like Keep It Fluffy on my skin. I can't even explain it. Like the Very Gods reminds me of The Olive Branch.

    In Silvery Accents, Whispering Low

Ugh, I love this. It somehow feels like being enveloped in a rich dark chocolate hug without being a chocolate scent at all, there's a kind of thickness to it. The spices are Morocco-like, but I wouldn't say this really reminds me of Morocco overall. The spicy coffee bean hits first, then the myrrh smoke, and finally the fir. One of the most well-behaved evergreens I've encountered, it lingers in the background and I have to inhale deeply to get the whole tree. A northern comfort.

    Incolumitas

I really, really wish this was available in a 5 ml and/or atmosphere spray. I love it so much, and think of it as my bedtime Banshee Beat. Take BB's vanilla patch (turned down from an 11 to a 4), add a strong spa-like lavender and a smattering of sage, and you've got Incolumitas. Gorgeous, relaxing, hoard-worthy.
