Lanolin

Wet, it reminds me of Centzon Totochtin, as the only notes I can pick out are cocoa and wine. I don't remember much about the drydown, except that it was still very boozey. Not my thing.

(probably not work safe) This scent is manliness embodied. It is the sunbaked leather of ageing bikers, it is the tobacco impregnated into every surface after decades of smoking. It is the ambergris torn from a still-living whale with your bare hands. It is glorious.

Starts out being much too almond, ends up being much too patchouli. The vetiver and pine give it an ashy burning-incense feel. V. v. v. headshoppy. There's a brief moment where it has a cola vibe to it, which is nice, but the initial wet stage and drydown aren't my thing.

Buy, beg, borrow or steal this, it doesn't matter how but if you like pumpkin you need this. The wood/linen keeps this from being strictly foody, but it's pretty darn close. And it is awesome. My husband said that I smell like pastries.

Loli.Goth is one of my favourite BPALs, and every time I wear it I look at the diminishing imp and know I'll probably never be able to get it again. Tamora is very, very similar fresh. The candied peach note balanced by wood is very similar in both. As it dries, Tamora distances itself from Loli.Goth to become its own scent - a woody warm vanilla-peach blend. It's fantastic, and I'm so glad to have found a worthy replacement.

There's a new race coming in the next expansion - Pandaren. The obvious choice would be something with bamboo in it, but most of the blends with bamboo are LE's. Starcraft I've got nailed though. Protoss - Lightning Zerg - Devil's Claw or Yorick (for the burrowing ones) Human - The Robotic Scarab or Galvanic Goggles

I don't know if it's all the gardening I've been doing lately, or if this is the scent version of pica, but I've been craving The Premature Burial lately. Unsure of vintage, but it's one of the imps with the oldschool tie-on label. On me, it's damp, fertile gardening soil with a faint breath of orchid and it is heavenly.

Mellow, smokey woods that stay closer to the skin than I normally expect from patchouli. For people who love headshoppy blends but are worried about overwhelming others. I'll probably use this in an oil warmer rather than on skin, but I will use up the imp.

I don't know what year this one is, because the imp is second-hand and doesn't have its original label. I'm not normally a fan of rose, but in this it's lovely. It's a rose-heavy blend, but the frankincense and myrrh deepen it to where it's not powdery. The gardenia adds an undertone of sweetness, which is very welcome. Overall, it's a balanced floral-incense with good throw. I like it.

The last thing I tried pink musk in was sickly-sweet, and so I expected the same of Loli.Goth. And instead got THE BEST FRUIT SMELL. The musk and wood elements tone down the sweetness enough to be pleasant instead of overwhelming, and the strawberry and peach are realistic rather than syrupy. I'm going to need to track down more once my imp is gone - and at the rate I'm using it, it won't be long. I need to stop myself from wearing this every day!

On me, this doesn't change too much from imp to dry. It's largely cedar, with equal parts sage and bay leaf. It's a comforting domestic smell to me, and I think I'll be using it more as a room scent than a body scent.

In the imp: Vomit. I think it's the kvass that does it - the fermented scent makes the food notes smell partly digested. Dry: Much more pleasant. The honey, bread and meat notes now smell delicious. However, the kvass is still in the foreground, giving everything a boozey funk. I didn't notice any wine, but wine is never very prominent on me. I probably won't use this again, but this would be great for someone who likes boozey blends.

In the bottle: In the words of Roland from The Dark Tower series, when he first tries Pepsi - THE SWEETNESS!! THE SWEETNESS!! On skin, it's not much improved. I can't smell anything but a nauseating cotton candy sweetness. I think, based on the other reviews, that this is the pink musk. Not my thing. Learning experience.

Testing an imp of unknown vintage, but judging by the condition of the label I think it's at least a year old. This changes dramatically once it's on skin, but both in the bottle and on skin are enjoyable. In the bottle, it's cherry syrup - to me, it doesn't smell fake, just oversweet, like they've been pureed and slowly simmered. On skin, it's just-harvested cherries, picked at the peak of freshness, sitting in an exquisitely polished mahogany bowl. Neither note seems more prominent - they seem happy to share the space, and I'm happy with the result. Overall, I love it. It's not too sweet or too feminine for me, and it has a generous wearlength and throw on me.

Testing an imp of unknown vintage, but judging from the condition and design of the label, it's a very old one. Exactly what it says on the tin, and I am okay with that! It's a sexy blood-forward, deep and strong blend, only needing the tiniest amount to make an impression. Very pleasant if I remember to be sparing in the application.
