    International Shipping Info+Questions

This is my first BPAL order since the increase in the shipping rates and suprisingly it was shipped via DHL (which is ) instead of USPS. This justifies the 34 USD shipping charge and at least i know DHL will deliver it to me unlike USPS shipments that get lost half of the time.

Apples?? Finding the right apple scent

Apple 2 from the Halloween 2015. It's the most summery scent of the all 2015 Halloween Apples

Best masculine scents *from the last five years*?

    Philostratus’ Phoenix

I swear there is a champaca resin in this blend, but turns out it's the orange blossom that renders a soapy vibe. All i get on my skin is incense, no honey, no vegetal musk, nothing.

    The Snow at Noon

This is not full on snow note scent. It's lifespan is pretty short and i get a faint fir/camphor traces on a bed of minty elemi.

    Père Noël

The opening greets me with a burst of juicy oranges, the same ones as in Eastern Comma. Then the lavender peeks out and the whole things dissipates to a comforting fruity sweetness. I was expecting more zest and zing and punch. This is to mellow for my taste.

    Halloween: San Francisco

this reminds me a lot of Autumn Overlooked My Knitting, minus the red currant note. It has a cologne vibe, but doesn't last too long.

    Halloween: New Orleans

It's one dense scent. It doesn't read airy at all to me. There's an unsettling note that messes up everything.

Portrait of an Unidentified Man as Mephistopheles

I get entirely nag champa cologne from this blends. Maybe it's the red musk to blame for the final outcome.

    Apple II

It's a refreshing blend. The apple note reminds me of a ripe Granny Smith apple variety, complemented by the lemon peel and juniper berry. It turns gradually somewhat powdery and reminds me of an apple mash. The decant will suffice and i'm sure i'll put it to use in the summer.

    The Unquiet Grave

from the start, i get the "chilly" accord, which reads like a faint snow note to my nose. Then gradually it opens up and i can discern the vanilla orchid and frankincense emerge. It reminds me of Venus Caelestis from Lupers 2015 minus the snow/chilly note. Would seem like a great scent during the spring/ summer time.

    Autumn Coolness

2008 decant: it's totally different from the 2012 edition. I get a blast of cassia/ cinnamon and some sweet floral. It's a spicy floral. Wow!

    The Old Goblin

A crown of hardened ice and polished fir-cones. Wet in the vial it smells sour, sharp and pine. I can detect under it all the snow note. Sharp pine and snow.

    Chaos Theory VII: Fougere

    # 66 In the bottle it smells oily and sharpish ferns. Once it hit my skin, i thought it smelled like something from the Steamworks line. As the oiliness receded, something ambery or ambergis-like came out with a powdery vibe. Upon further development, sweetenss emerges and the oiliness mingles with the amber/ambergis and reminds me very much of a men's cologne best suited for night wear. I think i pick up an oud note or maybe it could be the amber doing its naughty thing. I don't feel in any way cheated or deceived, i just can't exactly discern the notes. Now that some more time has passed, it leans more towards a middle eastern/ oriental blend. I'm pretty sure some sort of amber was added in the Chaos blend, maybe oud and resins (benzoin or opponax). The drydown has a dense/oily texture and the throw is average. 3rd day of testing: This blend falls into the Animalic Fougere category for sure. There are definitely animalic notes in there (ambergis or musks or balsams). The end-result is balmy and dense.

    Seated Couple Leaning on Hips

This smells like post-coitus, namely the skin musk is very suggestive. It's just too darn realistic and 3-dimmensional to my nose. Very arousing!

Kumiho Sea of Glass Doormouse Sudha Segara Zephyr Dirty Night Gaunt Nostrum Remedium

    Antony

It's a bright balsamic scent. The basil stands out the most on my skin, but then it fades and i get a smooth warm base with sage peeking out.

    Blood Amber

Wet: hello dragon's blood! you are incredibly powerful . the wet stage reminds me of Dragon's Blood only less fizzy and intense. Drying: the amber mellows the DB and a blanket of sweetness set in. I'm liking what i smell, I think i'm smiling and i think i will need a bottle of it!

    Mars Loucetius

It reminds of old school french cologne from the mid 60s or 70s, which today are no longer produced. I swear the combination of notes give it a more of an animalic feel/ vibe, but judging from the notes, no civet is to be found in here. The drydown is basically white tea and whispers of champaca. The scent took me back in time and awoke memories long forgotten.
  21. You could try Shanghai (little staying power though) or Embalming Fluid

    Haunted Bonbon

This is a very dilluted and watered down version of Haunted. It's void of the black musk and smells thin. Imho, it has little in common with the GC Haunted.

    Venus Murcia

Smells like fresh crushed grass/ lawn-mown grass. Way too realistic!
