    Clio

A bright, thin spark of the orange and lavender are the first to hit: a really colorful acord. On the drydown, the woods and amber combine beautifully. I usually turn woods to sawdust, but here, with the amber, the parchment comes alive, like the Marauder's Map. It is clean, sweet, and earthy all at the same time. DH says it smells like a pirate's wench...that is a good thing around here! I'll be keeping this little deary.

    Spellbound

Sexy, haunting, classy, unstopable... The rose is nearly undetectable in the bottle, but blooms fresh and red once it hits my skin. Drying down, though, it is sweet amber and sultry musk, with just a hint of powdery rose...delicious. I will save this one for special evenings out.

    Carnivàle

This IS a gypsy carnivale: colorful silks on tattooed bodies twirling in the dark, dizzying playful music, fire eaters, spicy stomped flowers in the dust of the hot earth, the juice of sweet fruit, with a big dollop of the lust for it all... Bring it back!

    Discussion of all things Amber

Labdanum is also very ambery~sweet, creamy resin. Skuld is my new fave, and I think it is quite ambery.

BPAL for Good Luck, Good Fortune, Good Karma

Aromatherapeuticly, bergamot, frankincense, jasmine, rose, lavender, orange and clary sage are used for aiding depression. Personally, I am soothed by sweet scents like vanilla and honey. I am thinking of Alice, with the bergamot, rose, and soft milk note, or Skuld with ylang ylang and honey. Hope this helps...

    Cathedral

Cathedral smells like church...the burning incense, the pews, the dust, and the divine. It smells heavenly on DH. It is now in our top 10. It must be experienced to be believed.

    Skuld

Being. warm, pulsing... the sweet pounding of life wafts on the air around the fresh memory of the flesh so new surrounding the soul so ancient... Must...have...a...big...bottle. Skuld is everything I wanted and more. A delightful skin scent; not the blatant sweet sex of O, but definitely in the same category... slightly more transparent... If O is a deep, warm golden honey color, Skuld is it is like the color of creamy white flesh itself complete with the hint of blue veins beneath, and the pink flush of the cheeks. This is a tiny bit floral, but the clean musks make this scent fresh, yet so sensual. Wear this everywhere...it stays close.

    Play-Doh smell -- should I dilute?

Black musk sometimes does the playdough thing...Haunted comes to mind... I think wearing less makes it less noticable.
  9. Hecate, Snake Oil, Velvet, O, and Jacob's Ladder if you can find it. I like my resins nice a sweet, though...
  10. Snake Oil and Hunger are the 2 that really create that "cloud"around me. I found that making BPAL into a spray can give a scent more throw as well. I tend to do this with lighter scents.

    Oberon

Fresh, but still very enchanting and sexy. I'll be making DH aftershave with this one for sure.

    Himerus

The floral combo reminds me too much of Ouija, which is one of my signature scents, so I want to pass it along. Rosewood always gets a little "pencily" on me. The juniper is nice and bright and clean, and mixes well with the florals. It is a little masculine, but a little sweet too. We'll see how DH likes it.

    Midnight

I almost didn't put this on because in the imp it smells like glue, but ON is a completely different story. A rich floral unlike any other. I get a hint of my beloved moonflower, but it is not a white scent. It is more herbal...wildflowery. On the drydown, it gets a bit sweet.

    La Belle Dame Sans Merci

Very floral...like a strong Eve without the apple. Kind of reminds me of scented Platex tampons.

    Thaleia

At first I am afraid that the apricot is going to take over this blend, being too sweet and fakey. I hung in there, though, and am glad that I did. The honey is sharp and green, and blends beautifully with the subtle white floral...clean, bright, and colorful. The tonka holds this blend together, with a buttery embrace. It reminds me a bit Caress soap, which reminds me of childhood~creamy, fresh, slightly fruity and sweet...clean. Perfect for the longing of Spring...A faerie laugh of a scent.

    Manila

Fruity. Not fakey banana, but sweet and fresh. Drying down, it becomes a sweet, white floral that is quite like tuberose, but not like BPAL's tuberose (haven't had much luck with them...). A bit of smokey wood comes through. Divine. A mysterious summer scent. Definitely in the same league as Eden, but much less green.

    Phantom Queen

At first I thought this was too floral, kind of medicinal... Dried out, though, it is fresh while still being sophisticated, fruity without being too young. It has elements of Bewitched, Vedandi, Hamadryad, Bordello, and Zombi. This is a damp, dew covered romp in the forest...a secret meeting of passion.
  18. Dark and strong: Snake Oil, Sin (equally as spicy), Loviatar (my new fave).

    Loviatar

This is my new OMFG scent. I immediately LOVE it. It reminds me of Bvlgari's Black, which is a smokey tea scent, and is the only commercial perfume still on my vanity. It is rich, a little sweet, and dark. I doesn't' smell like a leather jacket like some leather scents do. It is raw, sophisticated, exotic, and sexy. Definitely on the big bottle list.

    Queen Mab

FLOWERY...jasmine and roses. Dry (I can barely tolerate the drydown because it is so floral) there is a clean musk and a bit of dry woods. Not for this gal...

    Glasgow

A fruity floral that dries out to a sweet, dusty herbal scent. A bit more rosey than I expected. I'm not sure this is for me. I may have to hold onto it for warmer weather. I get the Mr. Bubble connection. It is also reminding me of Zombi...that unnerving old floral smell. It is a little creepy, but also clean and fruity.

    Hearth

Mmm...love the sweet nuttiness...Hellcat without the bite. ...but... Not with Pine Sol!

    Midwinter's Eve

Initally, this is very much like grape gum. Drying down, it is more like Bordello, but not as sexy, and the flowers are not agreeing with me.

    Hades

The ambegris is really apparent to me in this one. It is almost tea like, with the resins. The florals just brighten the blend...they are not very flowery at all. Quite an odd combination. There is a bit of warmth here, but not the fire that I would expect from its namesake.

    The Great Sword of War

This starts out delicious cocoa and tea with tonka making it all creamy and delicious, but on the drydown, oddly, the mandarin and herbs take center stage and make it very medicinal on both me and DH.
