    Snowblind Atmosphere Spray

So, this atmos reminded me of a smell. The problem was, I couldn't think of what it reminded me of! It wasn't until one of my coworkers spoke up that I realized-it smells like yellow cake! Yellow cake with mint frosting! It's delectable and delicious and as it fades it becomes a soft, crumbly sort of vanilla/peppermint blend. I'm so glad I splurged and bought a bottle!

    Dorian in the Pumpkin Patch

So, I was really excited to try this one. Dorian+Pumpkin sounded awesome! However, through the entire process-from in the imp to on my skin, this smells just like....plain old Dorian. I mean, I LIKE Dorian, but I already have a bottle of it and I don't need another. I have a friend who might like this, though, so I'll send it off to her.

    Theme in Yellow

I..........don't actually get much pumpkin from this one! (Not that I'm complaining, mind you.) In the imp: Woah, woah, woah. Back that truck UP. Is that...Gluttony I smell? Really? Yep, it's true. To my nose, Theme in Yellow smells almost identical to the now-defunct Gluttony in the imp. On, wet: Less of the Gluttony smell now. It's changed into some dry, almost woodsy spices. No real pumpkin. On, dry: The spices have calmed down a bit. There's a tiny hint of pumpkin waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back, but I get mostly spices and slightly sweet candle wax. Overall: This isn't really what I expected from Theme. It's not at all bad, in fact it's rather pleasant. But there are several scents I like more, so I think I'll just stick with my imp.

    Ooky

Oooo, this is a very VERY red/orange scent! In the bottle, it's all warm and glowing spices. On, wet: Cinnamon candy with Jack (the BPAL scent). It glows and almost burns. It's bright and cheerful and I love it. On, dry: Still warm, but it's more orange than red now. The pumpkin has become stronger, and it's mixing with a creamy frosting scent. It's spicy vanilla frosting on top of fresh-baked pumpkin cupcakes!

    The Perilous Parlor

Just bought this one from the lovely forumite, ralenth. On applying the oil, I get a big blast of juicy pear. Not plastic or fake pear, but so close to the real thing that I can almost feel the juicy goodness! Once it warms a bit, the pear recedes and a sweet, gentle vanilla comes out. This is a bit different from other BPAL vanilla notes. This one (on me) is almost crystalline. Visually, it would be like looking at a tower made of clear quartz. It stays true to that smell for the rest of the wear. I love it!

    Scent for Halloween?

Hope everyone had a happy Easter! I suppose it might be a tad ironic, but my scent of the day ended up being my new bottle of Dorian.

    Lich's Laboratory Atmosphere Spray

I got a tester of this with my BPTP order. When sprayed, it starts off being the smell of water and stone and darkness-as though you're in the dungeon of an old, haunted castle. As it has a chance to breathe, it retains that initial scent and adds a delicious, resinous incense. I LOVE this!

    Villainess and BPAL

You know, I keep intending to get an imp of Tombstone. But it always gets preempted by a new LE or something else that catches my eye. And yeah, Villainess has a different feel from BPAL, but they are my favorite soap brand ever! So I try to at least wear a BPAL that's not going to fight with whatever soap I used.

    Villainess and BPAL

Yesss, that's true. However, I'm not as fond of their extraits as I am the soaps. (One too many of them made me sneeze/sniffle all day.) And BPAL is my main fragrance provider, so I was hoping for ideas on these scents! Thanks for pointing it out though!

    Villainess and BPAL

Hey all! I'm looking for scents that might match (or blend well with) the "Supervillainess" soap by Villainess! The soap scent is: "Dry woods, worn-in leather, bittersweet cacao and arabica, succulent blackberry and lime, and a salty thread of cilantro." Any ideas?

What BPAL would this fictional character wear?

I just recently came into a frimp of Ekhidna that made me think a bit of Riku after he went over to side with the Heartless. There's a scent to it of dark, murky ocean water mingled with something dark and almost swamp-like, and a very dark spicy quality that makes me think of Dark Riku in all of his hotheaded, vicious glory. Not sure what scent I'd associate with Kingdom Hearts 2 Riku or Riku pre-Heartless, but I think Ekhidna might suit his darker side quite well. I keep thinking Sora would have something with a coconut scent to it, if only because I always get the mental association with him of a warm, lazy summer day on the beach, slathered in suntan lotion--one of those sorts that has the thick, coconut-cream scent. Kairi...I personally associate her mostly with flowers, due to her Kingdom Hearts 2 Keyblade. Flowers with something fiery behind it, since she's kind of a temperamental, take-charge little lady. Oooo, such lovely suggestions! I must find me some scents to match!

    Mourning Lace

I'm not terribly good at picking out individual notes, but here's my "visual" description of Mourning Lace: It's a time long since past. Perhaps colonial America, or perhaps even Victorian London. A procession of black-robed people moves slowly down a cobblestone lane. At the front of the procession, six strong-backed men carry a long casket of highly polished oak that gleams in the fog-light. Behind them, leading the trail of mourners is a stately woman, garbed in somber black dress, with smokey-gray lace draping down from her hat. The lacework covers her face, hiding the details better even than the fog around you. Laced through her hat are small vanilla blossoms, and she carries around her a cloud of incense from the church the group has recently left. The crowd arrives at the nearby cemetery. You sidle closer to the bereaved woman, close enough to smell her. As you step beside her, the casket is lowered into the ground, and the woman's calm facade shatters like glass. She begins to grieve-not in the silent, stately way of many people, but in a loud, gutwrenching sob. She sobs, and wails, and pleads with God to bring back her lost love. The flowers and lace fall into the grave thanks to the violent tremors that shake the crying widow. Suddenly, for an instant, the scent of the woman mixes with her grief, and it becomes cloying. You start to run, fearing that you might suffocate in the tangible heartbreak around you. But you don't flee. Instead, you get closer, and touch her briefly on the shoulder. She looks at you, and gives you....not exactly a smile, but something close. As she does, a few humble rays of light pierce the foggy gloom, and the grief that was so asphyxiating lessens, becoming a lighter feeling. You turn and walk away, thinking that perhaps you'll see the woman in black again someday, and you smile as you walk out of the graveyard, back onto the cobblestone road. As the funerary group fades from view you turn, taking a flask from your pocket. With a quick twist, you remove the cork, toast the group behind you, and take a quick sip of the delightful cognac within. The fog swallows you soon enough, and the scent of this misadventure is left to float through the air, alone.

    Pink Moon 2012

I'm not very good at picking out notes, but Pink Moon '12 is the scent of sitting in a field of wildflowers on a white tablecloth, gentle eating ruby red strawberries dipped in fresh, sweet white chocolate. Yummy!

    L’Eau de L’Ardeur Bath Oil

I'll be honest about a couple of things here: 1. I'm reviewing this mid-sinusitis, so my opinions may change when my nose is back up to 100%. 2. I HATE rose scents. Hate them. Now, #2 having been said, I actually really like this oil! Haven't used it directly on my skin (more of a shower bomb type thing), but I get a strong, strong blast of creamy white chocolate right off the bat. After awhile, the chocolate mellows a bit, and it starts to smell like white chocolate covered rose petals. Yummy! While I wouldn't by another bottle of it, I will for sure use up the one I have!

What BPAL would this fictional character wear?

How about Kingdom Hearts characters-specifically, Sora, Riku, and Kairi? I think both Sora and Riku would have salty ocean water in theirs. Kairi too, though not as strong. And for hers, something like stars and space? :S Ideas, anyone?

    Temple Viper

Cross-posting this review: I got a partial of it in a PiF (thank you, dear toomuch!), and I'm in loooo-oooove! It's sweet, thick, and....does "twilight-y" make sense? It's not exactly a dark scent, but not light either. I get the impression of a man (only, I suppose, because I am male), dressed in a white robe, walking through a temple in a desert. The sun is setting, casting long shadows in the building. He carries a bowl of burning, sweet incense and has several jewel-toned snakes slithering around and on him. He is both comforting, and somewhat frightening. You know that if you look close enough, you'll see that his teeth are just a little too sharp, his face a tad too pale, and his pupils ever so slightly elongated. But you feel you can ignore that, because overall he is quite handsome.<br style="background-color: rgb(250, 251, 252); line-height: 19px; font-size: 13px; font-family: tahoma, arial, verdana, sans-serif; color: rgb(93, 93, 93); "> You just hope he isn't as venomous as his....companions. 5/5

    Yules?

Well, I only have one so far (Lick It, Discreetly), but I love it! It's a deep mint with soft sugar and tiny droplets of vanilla. It's not precisely what I think of when I think of a candy cane, but more like those soft, almost chewy peppermints. (Now, I only have about eighty gajillion more to go!)

    Scent for Halloween?

I wore (well, am wearing) Lick It, Discreetly today! It smells like a wonderful, soft candy cane. Plus, it's fun to tell people at church what you're wearing, lol.

    Sprinklecake

In bottle: Concentrated essence of vanilla-sharp, strong, and a bit overwhelming. On, wet: Boozy vanilla cake batter! On, dry: Something sweet and purple comes out of hiding, but the vanilla is as boozy as ever. Overall: 4/5 (Btw, I'm totally jealous that Lilith gets boozed up cupcakes for her birthday!! I want alcoholic cake for my birthday too! (Just kidding, just kidding, lol))

    Clockwork Couture: Female

Awww, and this had bunches of notes that I love, too! Sadly, while it smells awesome in the imp, it turns to (gag) Baby Powder of DOOOOOOOM! on me.

    Port-Au-Prince

Dark, decadent and incomparably exotic: the rich scent of buttered rum flavored with almond, bay, clove and sassafras. On me, this is a slightly sweet tea. O.o In fact, it's like a softer version of Plunder-not that that's a bad thing mind you. At least this one doesn't leave red marks on my skin! However, it really shines as a room scent-it's a spicy/sweet scent, with a hint of fruit. Mmmmm-mmm.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

Strongest vanilla BPAL ever? Detestable Putrescence, from the Gris Grimly line: "Melty vanilla ice cream." Mmmm-mmm!

    O

Oh. Oh my. Wow. Um, yeah. This is quite possibly the closest thing to sex in a bottle I've ever encountered. I would grab someone wearing this and ravished them on the nearest horizontal surface. And mind you, I'm asexual-so for a smelly to inspire this kind of reaction in me, you know it has to be good! Imp: Amber, with a touch of sweetness. Not bad per say, but amber tends to make my nose itch. On, wet: Ooooooh yeah. There's that honey-vanilla! Work it baby! On, dry: The amber has come back a bit, but it's still dominated by the sexy Honey and Vanilla sisters (brothers?). It gets a teeny bit of baby powder to it, but not enough to ruin the scent. O=awesome!
  24. StevenBoatman

    Bon Vivant

Mmmm, yummy! Bon Vivant is a very simple scent, that stays true from imp to drydown. It's a crystalline, airy note and the scent of freshly picked, beautifully ripe strawberries. It'll make you want to eat your wrist!

    Calico Jack

Calico Jack: In imp: Water and spice! Cool, refreshing spring water (isn't this supposed to be a PIRATE scent???) and some mysterious collection of spices. Very nice, but not what I expected! On, wet: Water! Wet, wild water. In fact, it's cold water-like a river after a storm. There's no trace of other scents though. But hey, it's still awesome-I love smelling like fresh, clean water! On, dry: Now, the water has warmed up as the day draws to a close. It's also mingling with sea water, giving it just a hint of salt. And there's a spicy, musky, leathery scent floating on top. Perfection! A++++! 5/5!
