    Coyote

This is an aged imp but I am unsure of it's age. In the bottle: Mmm, amber and musk. I get an impression of something sweet, like berries, but I have no idea why. On my skin: Comforting musk and gentle woods in the distance. It actually reminds me of casanova right now. A couple of minutes later it shifts to a sweet sunny day. I can picture myself in the green grass under a gentle sun, but I can't smell any grass or any sun on my skin. Drydown: Sweet berries and a very faint musk.

    Faustus

This imp was graciously gifted to me, so I am unsure of it's age. I do know that it is aged though. In the bottle: Sweet and sinful and sweet. Dark violet and cinnamon mostly. On my skin: I can smell the spicy, sweet cinnamon and some frankincense in the background. The dark violet makes it sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. It is exactly what it needs. Have I ever mentioned how much I love cinnamon? Yum. A few minutes later I get soft, warm and comforting spicy cinnamon with a hint of dark frankincense that weighs it down just enough and have lost the violet. I love it at this stage. Drydown: Smokey cinnamon.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

This imp was graciously gifted to me, so I am not sure of it's age. In the bottle: Some kind of light floral. Is there jasmin in this? On my skin: A strong floral scent (but what kind of flowers, I can not tell). It calms down after a few minutes, making room for faint white musk. Drydown: Gentle white musk with a small hint of flower. It's rather soft and gentle.

    Haunted

This imp was gifted to me, so I am not sure how old it is. In the bottle: Musky lemon. On my skin: Wow, the lemon comes out fast to play. It reminds me a bit of Shub-Niggurath without the ginger goodness right now. I can make out a bit of musk underneath, but it is mostly husky lemon wipes at first. About 5 minutes later the musk is slowly making it's presence known while the lemon slightly subsides. I can't get any hint of the amber so far. About 20 minutes later, the musk is much more stronger with the lemon having withdrawn to the background. Drydown: Lemony musk.

    Black Rose

This imp was graciously gifted to me, so I am unsure of it's age. In the bottle: Dark, sweet rose. On my skin: Dark rose. This sweetness isn't innocent but rather enchanting. I am wearing this with gothy attire and so far it is a perfect fit. Drydown: My black rose morphed to a red one although the transforming process was quite pleasant.

    Dee

... His scent is soft English leather, rosewood and tonka with a hint of incense, parchment and soft woods. This imp was graciously gifted to me, so I am not sure of it's age. In the bottle: Something that reminds me of almonds, or something bitter and vetiver-like. On my skin: Almondy and bitter, this must be the tonka. A couple of minutes later I can detect a faint smokiness underneath, but it is too faint to change anything - I think it is the incense. I can't distinguish any other notes so far. Drydown: More of the same, this didn't change much.

    Nyarlathotep

This is the blackest of ritual incenses charged with flashes of ozone. In the bottle: Mmm, black incense. On my skin: Mmm, more black incense! And a faint whiff of something bright and almost citrusy which must be the ozone. The incense soon fades away though and I am left with the ozone. Drydown: Faint ozone. It fades fast though and that is a pity.

    Tezcatlipoca

Deep cocoa laced with patchouli, leather armor, ritual incense, and a touch of Xochiquetzal’s flowers. In the bottle: Delicious cocoa. On my skin: Cocoa dust, which is slightly clogging my sinuses. It is delicious though and I think I can make out some incense underneath. It is yummy. The cocoa dust soon calms down so that I'm not slightly suffocating when I try to smell it anymore and the playful part of Tezcatlipoca comes out. I think it's the flowers. There is also a sweet warmth that must be coming form the patchouli, but I can't detect it. A few minutes later the cocoa has actually blended in with the incense and the result is very, very pleasant. And yummy, but not food-yummy. Barely half an hour later though it sadly fades significantly. Drydown: Cocoa incense, mmmmm...

    Thorns

This imp was graciously gifted to me, so I am not sure how old it is. In the bottle: Something that reminds me of the Bénédictine liqueur, maybe that is the vetiver other people speak of? On my skin: More of this Bénédictine-vetiver-thing! It smells wholesome and evokes almonds, or soap - it is alkaline. It isn't sharp but filling and I enjoy it. Drydown: More of the same, almost like a SN. Not half-bad; I should wear this on a Bénédictine night.

    Evil

In the bottle: I have no idea what I'm smelling, but it reminds me a bit of beer shampoo. I'm guessing it is one of the last four scents listed because I have no idea what they smell like. On my skin: More of the bottle scent, which is bold and catches the attention. I can now make out a hint of opium underneath. A few minutes later it fades away to make room for something mellower. Opium and...honey? Half an hour later, I smell plum, opium and faint powdery soap. Funnily enough, I also think I can still smell some honey. Who knew evil would smell so sweet? Drydown: Honey. It reminds me of baklava. Because being evil is such sweet delight. ^^

    Spanish Moss

I have always loved, loved, loved the lab's scents that had moss in them (when I could smell the moss anyway), like Deep In Earth and 13 Hours. Those happen to be two of my favorite BPAL scents as well. Coincidence? I think not. Therefore, when the SN went live I knew I had to buy it. With many thanks to the lovely angelamaria who organized a group order, I was able to get it! In the bottle: Oh my love, we meet again. Moss. Sweet, green, amazing moss. I want to cover myself in it and live like a dryad. On my skin: The amazing sweet green is indeed covering me now! Can I go live in the forest now? I'll behave, I promise! A few minutes later there is a feel of something sweetly powdery, which reminds me of Turkish delight, but the perfume is not powdery if that makes sense. I just feel like it is a moss-scented Turkish delight (I'd love to try that, by the way! I'm weird, I know) but that doesn't reduce it's awesomeness and green-ness at all. Drydown: Lovely, sweet moss. *hugs it* If only I could make a moss cloak that smelled like this and wear it every day!

    Phoenix Steamworks

In the bottle: Fresh, clean, sage. On my skin: Window cleaner? It's fresh and piney and it reminds me of something I would use to clean the windows. I like the crisp clean feeling I get from it, even so. I can faintly tell the incense after a couple of minutes. About a quarter later I get sweet raspberries. What is it with most green scents turning into berries on me? There is also something else under the berries, but it is too faint to tell. Drydown: Sweet, juicy, bright red raspberries with a very faint hint of something else. I like raspberries but I don't like having every other green scent turning to raspberries on me; it's getting a bit tiring.

    The Twisted Oak Tree

In the bottle: Mmmmm, oak. So, so green. On my skin: It takes a sharp note, with the ivy becoming more dominant and grasping the oak wood. I can smell a bit of the rot in the wood as well, but strangely enough, I like that scent. It is very earthy and makes me want to walk in the woods. A few minutes later the ivy mellows down a bit so that I can take a peek at the moss as well. Soon enough, it changes to something sweeter that reminds me of the berries of Ondurdis (which is similar to how the Oak Tree dried on me). Drydown: It changes again after half an hour or so, to something that reminds me of this apple/cinnamon winter spice room spray I had once. It is very similar to it's drydown with No.93 Engine on me, actually (and I think Samhain 2011, it's been a while since I wore it).

    Suck It

Suck it 2012. In the bottle: Mmmm, cherry brandy. I want to eat it. With chocolate. On my skin: Cherry storm! It is now spilled on my skin and taking over. It is sweet and mellow and inebriating. It doesn't smell like alcohol, more like candy. I really like it though. Drydown: Surprisingly, it doesn't morph much and remains pretty much the same through time, like Oya did for me. The sweetness of it reminds me of Oya as well. It is almost like a single note sweet cherry. I keep wanting to suck it, though.

    No. 93 Engine

In the bottle: Frankincense and mastic. Intriguing and fresh. On my skin: Cedar and frankincense and a faint soapy warmth. A couple of minutes later I get a faint cedar (that reminds me a bit of cedar wood trimmings) and something that makes my smelling sense tingle, like peppermint does (and I think is an echo of the frankincense). About 10 minutes later the cedar is all but gone, the frankincense is a smoky presence and I get the beeswax. Smoky wax in a soapy warmth; it shouldn't work but somehow it does. Drydown: It has changed to something different that I can't describe. It reminds me a bit of a sweeter version of vanilla's essence (which is bitter) but I don't know what it is.

    The Old Goblin

In the bottle: Icy firs. On my skin: It immediately turns to a generic cologne scent which I guess is the ozone with a hint of green underneath. I quickly lose sight of the green and I am left with the ozone note. Even though it is generic and a bit masculine I like it a lot because it reminds me of my favorite perfume when I The Old Goblin is simple and fresh but effective for me and I am really enjoying the mellowed drydown scent of it.

    Brisingamen

The amber necklace of Freyja, Norse Goddess of Love, Sex, Attraction and Fruitfulness. Her magnificent necklace was bought from four Dwarves [Alfrik, Berling, Dvalin and Grer] at the price of four nights of her passion. When Brisingamen graces your throat, no man can resist your charms. A glittering mantle of rich golden notes: five ambers, soft myrtle and apple blossom, myrtle, and carnation. In the bottle: Amber and I think a whiff of the apple blossom. On my skin: A soft, flowery, powdery smell. I think again I can spot the apple blossom, but I am not sure what myrtle smells like, with an amber note being faint in the background. The amber starts becoming more prominent after the first couple of minutes, although I have yet to spot the carnation at all. Drydown: Faint resinous amber with a hint of apple blossom.

    Tintagel

On my skin: A pleasant sweet note with a hint of spice (DBR again? also, is there any cinnamon in here?) and berries. It is cozy and slightly woodsy but not too much (sadly, because I love woodsy scents ). I also get a whiff of mulled wine spices after a couple of minutes; this is just lovely. It is transforming to a warm, cozy, Christmas scent that makes me want to snuggle up with my beloved and drink hot chocolate/cider/cocoa. About 5-10 minutes after the application I get the mulled wine spicyness (cinnamon I love thee) and, faintly, the berries. Drydown: Berries with a hint of spice.

    Black Lotus

Black lotus flower, amber, myrrh and sandalwood. In the bottle: Sandalwood and something darkly sweet (like a goth candy cane). On my skin: Sandalwood and the goth candy cane again. I can't spot the myrrh or the amber but I have no idea what the black lotus flower would smell like so I am guessing all the gothy sweetness comes from this one. A few minutes later it transforms to myrrh with some pleasant soapiness and 20 minutes after the application it has completely morphed to soap. Drydown: Lightly smoky soap. It's a pity, because I liked the gothy candy cane.

    Masquerade

This imp is aged (not sure how long). Let's see what has happened to it. In the bottle: I have no idea what ambregris smells like. That aside, I get patchouli and a bit of orange blossom. On my skin: Heavy, dark, oppressing and earthy, I get a hint of sweat and a faint idea of an orange blossom trying to come through. It is smoky and incensy but I would appreciate it if I didn't smell like sweat in the midst of this. A couple of minutes later the sweaty note begins to tone down and I get a very smokey scent (the ambergris, I'm guessing?) with a hint of spice which is the patchouli. I also think I can detect a hint of the orange blossom, buried deep down, but I am not sure. Drydown: Soap with a hint of orange blossom. I wish this didn't have the sweat note, it would have made it so much better.

The Rose in the Deeps of his Heart

In the bottle: Bitter green (galbanum?) and something sweeter which I think is the warm musk. On my skin: It rises with a sharp, bitter note that is kept at bay by the musk. I can't make out the rose at all at this stage and I can very faintly smell the frankincense. It takes a couple of minutes, but finally the rose makes it's presence known. I am surrounded by sweet rose and comforting musk, although the bitter note still remains in my wrists, if I smell too closely, although that too will fade away in another few minutes. Drydown: Rosy musk, although eventually the rose dies out and the musk remains.

Days and Nights in Vaults and Charnel Houses

In the bottle: Dirt and moss, two notes that I love when I find them in BPAL oils. <3 On my skin: Dirtied moss and a sweet hint of something (the lilac note maybe?). Considering that I love deep in the Earth and Nosferatu I think I will have a similar experience with this. After a couple of minutes I think I can also smell beetroot, which is just odd. Drydown: The dirt is the last to fade away so it eventually settles down as lovely sweet moss, which is lovely. <333

    Shub-Niggurath

Many thank yous to the lovely forumite that gifted this to me, cuervosueno. She is awesome. In the bottle: *does a cookie monster impersonation* Cookiessss. Cookies and something from the citrus family, either lemon or orange, I am not sure. I want to eat it, all of it. On my skin: Dark, delicious, gingery cookies with lemon zest. Great, now I want to eat myself! After a few minutes the raw feeling of spicy cookie dough subsides and I am left with just the spices. I can very distinctly smell clove and lemon and it is delicious. Drydown: Clove and spices and a faint hint of lemon. This smell is delicious. I never would have thought that being an evil outer deity would smell so yummy (and now I want to eat spicy cookies). >>

    Czernobog

I got a small sample of this by a forumite, and I think it was quite aged. In the bottle: Dark musks with a hint of something lemony -vetiver? On my skin: I can smell musks and I think I can smell the myrrh as well but the lemony scent is definitely peaking through. Drydown: A few minutes later it turns to soap on me. I don't know if it is because it is aged or it just doesn't work on me. Pity, I wanted this to work.

    The Red Queen

I got a small sample of this by a forumite so I am not sure how old it is but I am guessing well aged. In the bottle: Awesome black-red sweet cherries. On my skin: Cloyingly sweet black-red cherries. The scent is rich but not too strong. The sweetness reminds me a bit of the lab's raspberry note as well. I can't smell the wood and I am not sure about the currant (if it's there, it is mixed with cherry). Drydown: Surprisingly enough, it didn't really morph on me. I kept on smelling the sweet black-red cherries and the sweetness reminded me of something like adult candy (if that makes sense). It was similar in sweetness to Oya and I enjoyed it. The downside was that the smell vanished after a couple of hours. I wish it would stick around a bit longer.
