I've had a bottle of this socked away since shortly after the original release, so it's about 3 years old. Mostly sweet pine and green forest, supported by soft leather. It is sweet enough that I wondered if there was some amber in it before I looked up the notes. I think it's the pine turning a bit sugary/sap-like on my skin. Cologne-y vibe but nothing high-pitched. Love. <3

I was hoping this would be great and it didn't disappoint! On me, it is a lot like The Bow & Crown of Conquest, which makes sense since it shares a lot of notes (lavender, leather, sage, carnation, vanilla, and musk), but Bow & Crown is heavier on the vanilla where Knight is heavier on the lavender. I do get some really nice leather in Knight, but it's not as strong here as it is in Bow & Crown. And the lavender is not too sharp or medicinal; the vanilla keeps it sweet. Unfortunately it faded quickly on me. A few hours after applying I couldn't really smell it anymore. I'll have to stock up and carry it around in a roller bottle for reapplications.

This one is a lot simpler than I thought it would be. On me, it is mostly just a sweet, honeyed beeswax from the vial to drydown. I get some leather throughout and a bit of ashy woods at the beginning, but mostly it's just the beeswax. Very pretty, decent throw.

I'm kind of torn on this one. Applying it, I got woods, aquatic mosses, and some citron. It definitely gave me a pirate-y feel, which I liked, and it was slightly cologne-y. But the longer this wears, the more I smell dryer sheets. The woods have faded a lot, unfortunately, and I get no coconut at all. The saltiness is nice, but combined with the dryer sheet scent it's quite sharp. I wish this worked for me. The rest of the notes are so nice!

Almond Blossom is an almond-y version of Snow White to me. It was weirdly appealing and I kept sniffing my wrist, but the almond/mint combo was strange and didn't work on my skin. It also had a bit of a plastic/Playdough vibe that I don't get with Snow White. I applied it mid afternoon yesterday, and when I woke up this morning my wrist smelled exactly like Playdough. I imagine this would work really well for other people, but not for me. I do recommend trying it if you like Snow White.

This one was strange to me. I love leather scents, but sometimes food+leather scents are an odd combo on my skin, and that's what happened here. I think it's the chemical aspect of the leather making the food note seem...off. I did get some paper and flowers, but it was mostly leather and Scottish Tablet. I wanted this to work but I think my skin chemistry messed it up.

I've never tried the perfume because I was afraid the combination of notes wouldn't work on me, but this atmo spray has me reconsidering whether I need to try the perfume after all. This is primarily tobacco, to me, and oh I love it. Tobacco on a base of leaves, flowers, smoke, and chocolate. The tobacco stays front and center the whole time, fading only a bit so that the chocolate comes out more over time. I sprayed it a couple of hours ago and it's still going strong with only one spritz. I definitely think I'll need a full bottle of this.

This is very pretty. I couldn't remember the notes when I tried it, but my first impression was lavender and vanilla ice cream. It dried down to a sweet vanilla ice cream and musk scent. I can definitely see myself reaching for this, especially when I want something comforting and sweet.

This was a little fruitier than I was expecting, but very good! To me the yuzu is dominant, with a bit of mint at the beginning. Everything is blended so seamlessly I have a hard time picking out notes, but they're all there. It's a fresh, slightly sweet, creamy citrus scent. I agree that it will be a great summer scent, although I'll probably wear it year-round.

This is just as good as I was hoping it would be. At first I got mostly lavender and fir balsam, with vanilla musk and cedar right behind it. I got a touch of clove when I looked for it, but otherwise I couldn't detect any coconut or clove. I put it on wet, freshly shampooed hair. As my hair dried, the vanilla and cedar came out more. Right now I smell like a vanilla forest, and it's really lovely.

The city clocks had only just gone three, but it was quite dark already—it had not been light all day—and candles were flaring in the windows of the neighbouring offices, like ruddy smears upon the palpable brown air. The fog came pouring in at every chink and keyhole, and was so dense without, that although the court was of the narrowest, the houses opposite were mere phantoms. To see the dingy cloud come drooping down, obscuring everything, one might have thought that Nature lived hard by, and was brewing on a large scale. Creaky wood, thick fog, and dying embers. This is so different from what I was expecting! In the bottle and on my skin, it is mostly slightly sweet aquatic-ozone. I think I was expecting the fog note to be slightly smoky and not as sweet, but I really don't get any fogginess from this at all. I also don't get any dying embers or smokiness on my skin. I do get some wood underneath it, but it's not prominent. I've been wearing it for a couple of hours now and it hasn't changed. I pulled this out of the mailbox last night, so I might let it settle for a week or so and then try it again.

On my, this is pretty much what it says on the tin. Mostly clean skin musk with moss and berry. Slightly sweet, very musky in a soft powdery way. Very clean smelling. I like this a lot!

This is definitely clean and powdery, I think from the chypre and the rice paper, but the jasmine dominates the blend for me right from the beginning. I love chypre and was hoping it would make this one a winner, but unfortunately the jasmine is just too strong for me. It's a pretty blend though, very soft. I'm just not a big fan of jasmine. ...and as soon as I say that, the benzoin makes a stronger appearance, tempering the jasmine a bit. I might need to retest this a few times.

You might also look for blends with chypre listed as a note. Chypre is a combination of oakmoss, labdanum, patchouli, and bergamot. (There is a lot of variety among chypres, but to my limited knowledge, most chypres will consist of an oakmoss base note and a citrus top note like neroli or bergamot.) It has a very woodsy feel to it and the oakmoss is very dominant. Nude Male, Arms Upstretched had a great red chypre note in it. (Full note list is "Dark musk, linen, and red chypre.") Frederic is also listed as a chypre. For oakmoss, Crowley is a great one. The Caterpillar is very mossy as well, to my nose.

Wow, this is amazing. It's pretty much what's on the tin: chestnuts roasting on an open pyre. Sweet nuts and a wood-burning fire. It's a great fire scent, so spot-on. I need my apartment to smell like this when it's cold outside and I have the heater on and I'm cuddled up under a blanket, and I can pretend there's a crackling fire behind me.

This is so good! I definitely get the Snake Oil comparison, especially when I first put it on. (I tested it on my arm like a perfume, not in the bath.) It goes on as dark, deep and sugary. It's really well blended and hard to pick out any individual notes except for the sugar. The rose is really pretty and doesn't take over the whole blend. The leather comes out the longer it sits on my skin, but it's not too strong. It's mostly a sugar, honey, and rose blend on me. It smells expensive. I thought a half bottle from a decanter would be enough but I might need a couple more bottles...

I just noticed I'd never reviewed this. Mahogany Hall is my favorite GC atmosphere spray. It is mostly woods, moss, and patchouli rounded out by vanilla. Slightly sharp but sweetened by the vanilla, which isn't foodie at all. I do smell the cigar smoke but it's nothing at all like an ashtray. Overall, very rich but comfortable. It lasts for a long time. I get traces of a slightly powdery vanilla hours later. I think it's a nice scent for bedrooms, living rooms, and offices. I keep a bottle next to my bed and another one in my office at work. Yesterday my co-worker got a whiff of it from down the hall (accidentally sprayed too much) and came to ask me what it was. She really liked it.

When I first used this I couldn't remember the notes exactly. It smelled like cedar and vetiver to me, although I think it was the spikenard that was making me think vetiver. Definitely a very grounding, earthy scent. I smell a bit of fig if I sniff closely, but I only noticed it after I'd used the soap a couple of times. I like it very much and have ordered a full bar.

Wet, this is mostly lavender with a bit of citrus and patchouli. Maybe a hint of lilac but it's hidden under the lavender. I get a bit of pine, but it mostly comes through as cool earthiness. As it dries, the patchouli and pine come out more. This does have a sharp, astringent quality to it. I don't mind it but I can see where someone would not like this blend if they weren't a fan of lavender, pine, patchouli, or sharp herbal scents. I think this is well blended though. I feel like all of the notes complement one another well. It is a dark, cool, sharp scent. Color associations for me are black, purple, blue, and green.

This is pretty but very faint! I had to apply very liberally and I can only smell it when I huff my arm. On me, this is mostly coconut and tobacco rounded out by tonka and vanilla. After a while something a bit sharp and ashy peeks through. I thought it was a hint of vetiver at first but maybe it is the tobacco. I don't notice any patchouli, and the musk is barely there. I'll have to try it a few more times to see if it's bottle-worthy. I quite like the coconut-vanilla-tobacco combo, I just wish it was stronger.

I mostly get the pine/cypress, and the cinnamon comes out the longer it sits on my skin. The leather is there at the beginning but not very strong, although it comes out more later. Drydown is leather with spicy pine. I like it!

It's funny what body chemistry does! Rogue and Winchester smell nothing alike to me. To me, Winchester is sweet vanilla/amber/leather, while Rogue is very pine-y and green with leather in the background. If you like Winchester, you might try Crowley: Infernal musk, red patchouli, lilac cologne, mahogany, lemon rind, oakmoss, leather, and vanilla husk. To me, it is mostly leather, vanilla, red musk, and patchouli. The Black Rider might be in the same family as well. It is leather and black amber. Maybe you could layer it with something vanilla/tobacco, like the Antikythera Mechanism. I'd also suggest Dee: Soft English leather, rosewood and tonka with a hint of incense, parchment and soft woods.

I really like this! Wet, the patchouli and leather are dominant (especially the patchouli!) but I get all of the notes and they are blended together well. Aside from the patchouli, leather, and vanilla, I probably wouldn't be able to pick out any individual notes if I didn't know what I was looking for. The patchouli/leather combination is sharp (mostly due to the patchouli; the leather is a nice soft brown leather), and the other notes are sweet and almost powdery in contrast. The vanilla is nice, not too foody. I was a bit worried about the sarsaparilla being too sweet when paired with the vanilla/honey, but it's not cloying. The longer it sits on my skin, the sweeter it gets and the more the leather/patchouli calms down. I do get a slight impression of coconut as some other reviewers have mentioned, and I think it's the vanilla/sarsaparilla combination. I've had it on for about 3 hours now, and it's mostly sweet vanilla/sarsaparilla/honeysuckle with a bit of patchouli. Very pretty!

This is definitely lighter than I expected. I barely smelled it the first time I tested it so I used more the second time. It is mostly patchouli and smoke on my, with suede in the background. There's something comforting about it, and I think it'd definitely be a good fall/winter scent, the kind that leaves traces on your scarves and sweaters. The patchouli was clean and sharp but a bit too strong for my tastes.
