    Thirteen (13)

Ha, ha, Mina, you said "Chapstick-y" and I read "Chipmunk-y"!!! LOL! That would be like Alvin, Simon or Theodore? I wonder. Anyway, I have a bottle of 13, which I wanted because 13 is my lucky number, (me and the husband both born on the 13, met on the 13th, etc) but food scents don't work on me, so if anyone is dying for a decant or two? I will trade for something good and amber-y, musk-y. But I have to keep the bottle!

    Aeval

Okay, I really love Aeval. It starts out floral, very sweet pea, this is good for me, because lots of florals bother my allergies. Then the sage kicks in. I do have to reapply every four hours or so, but ALL perfumes are that way on me as I have very dry skin. At about the two hour mark, the floral is mostly gone and only the lovely light musk is left. To me, that makes it the perfect daytime scent because I can layer Hetairae or Bastet over it for evening and night! Aeval is my first BPAL love, even though I also have been having a thing for Black Pearl. I think Aeval will remain my everyday scent for a long time. For any and all of you who don't like it, PM me!!

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I have REALLY bad allergies of all kinds, mostly hay fever, but sometimes contact dermatitis, too. Part of the reason I looked into BPAL was because I am often allergic to whatever commercial perfumes use for bases, but have seldom had skin reactions to oils and I know, more or less, what to avoid for the hayfever. I can usually smell an oil and know if it is going to cause me problems, so the imps work well for me to test with and all. I had a bad "hay fever" type reaction to Chiroptera, which is too bad because I really liked it, but I KNOW flowers are a problem for me. That is why I stick to lots of resins and musk/amber type scents (I know resins are from plants, but they don't seem to bother me.) One thing I have found is that if something is going to bother my skin, it will be worse 1. if I am stressed, 2. on my neck/cleavage. I have found that Lush's Phresh Pharmacy soap (or however it is spelled) is wonderful for break outs from allergies (I think it is pink because it has calamine in it) and Benadryl works wonders, too. I know to avoid things with strawberries and strawberry oil, be careful of tomatoes, etc, all my bugaboos. Narrowing down what caused a reaction is very difficult, so for me, I just do a sort of sniff and wave, if I am going to react with a hay fever attack, most of the time, that is enough to let me know. As for contact type rashes, I do a sort of patch test, by putting a little on the inside of my wrist and waiting, then the inside of my arm, before slathering. And, yes, I am a slatherer, due to dry skin soaking everything up.
  5. My husband really likes Bastet, Hetairae and Snake Oil, but he's an old (although younger than I am) hippie/goth/computer geek guy, so factor that in. All the guys at work seem to like Snake Oil and Chaste Moon.

    Bliss

There is obviousloy something wrong with me. I smelled this when I first got it and just went -- AAAAHHHHH, that is so rank!! What is it? A skunk? Something crawled down in that bottle and died!!! Oh no!! I just tried it again and the same. Nasty!! I had to take a big hit of Blood Amber to get the smell out of my nose!!! Yuck, and it's supposed to be chocolate? The best I could come up with was -maybe- burnt almonds that a nasty big animal had already eaten and disposed of. I am so sorry. Maybe later on in the month (if you get my drift) it will smell better. My husband doesn't even like chocolate and he said it wasn't bad, but to me..... Sigh! So, anyone want a sniffed decanted imp of Bliss? What else is chocolate? I luurrrrvvve choccies. I don't get it!!!!
