    Leather

Quintessence sounds quite lovely, but I haven't tried this one either! In U, there are definite foresty balsam notes, though.

    Leather

After reading back a bit, I definitely need to try goblin sack and jareth... I whipped out U mutter mueseum tonight, any similar recommendations? One of my current fave leather blends currently is the horseman by morbid and the merrier! Gahhh.....

    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

To this day, I enjoy this scent SO much. After a rough day, or the dreading of a day (I wore it a lot while in school before exams!) this scent does wonders. If you are comforted by chocolate bonbons and a lavender pillow before bed, give this a try. At times I find this scent to be unisex, but I prefer it on myself vs the husband. The lavender and vanilla mix is soothing and oh so comforting.... I have to agree with the previous poster re: if you love TKO you will adore this. Just thinking about Wulric makes me want to reach for my bottle!
  4. Are there any scents which are similar to Phoenix rising and Let the good times roll?

    The Hessian of the Hollow

Ah, while digging through my imp box in search of some autumn-goodness, I stumbled across this little one. Goes on quite masculine, it's dark, reminiscent of those cool fall evenings when you are enjoying a lonely walk. I couldn't quite smell the leather (disappointing as I love leather scents). There is definitely some smoke and the forest moss, which leaves me longing for a bonfire. If you like dark, moody, smokey scents, give it a try.

    Creepy

I have to say Creepy is probably one of my favourites, from all perfumeries. I find it very comforting. It is boozy, dark caramel (the kind of sauce you make at home that is buttery, rich, and almost burnt when you walk away momentarily), and who can forget the apples. Some apple scents I find to be soap like, or very artifical, not this one!

BPAL Patchouli - there's nothing else like it

Right now, my favorite patchouli blend is Voodoo. Illustrated woman was pure smoke on me I'll be stalking this thread.. I love patchouli!

    Ü Mütter Museum

Freshly applied, I get pure grass! This is a very earthy/woodsy scent, reminds me of being outdoors and planting! As it dries, I get a little of the vanilla note, and it actually smells a bit spicy. I'm not sure if I'm smelling leather, because i've honestly never smelled a leather bpal note/blend before... To sum it up, woodsy, vanilla & spicey! After drying its nowhere near the initial OMG GRASS scent, which is good.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I have no idea if last squished jelly bean is BPAL or not... but it's most likely the cinnamon that's doing it to your skin!! It seems the most common oils that are prone to giving people rashes are pumpkin and cinnamon... and a lot of pumpkin/halloweeny blends use cinnamon in the mix. Last October I purchased a "pumpkin crunch" scrub from a etailer, hopped in the shower, and emerged with red blotches ALL over my body, where I had used the scrub. I had no idea what was causing it, until I posted on the LUSH forum...Cinnamon is very strong, a lot of people will dilute the oils or just stay away from them! I'm not sure why it happens, but it gives me blotches that almost look like burn marks, and it ITCHES! It doesn't happen to everyone, but everyone's skin is a little different... and some obviously more sensitive (like ours!)

    Inez

Golden amber, vanilla musk, myrrh, cedar, carnation, and red sandalwood. This is very reminiscent of Hod to me. Strong carnation, not much of anything else, sadly. As it dries, it softens up a bit.. and I get a little of amber, which smells like powder on my skin.

    Jolly Roger

This is weird! I smell the sea spray, it smells like the ocean. I get a little woodsy note in the background, but no rum. I'd love this on my boyfriend...

    Nuclear Winter

Wet, this is strong mints and smells a little bit like old man cologne. As it dries down, the pine takes over and i'm left with a nice minty piney blend. Much lighter mints than initially. There is still something cologny about this, though..

    Candles Moon

I'm so glad I purchased a bottle unsniffed! When first applied, I get very strong blackberry/fruit mixture. As it dries down, it becomes a little musky but i'm not going any beeswax (a note I love!) I can smell a bit of the snow note/ozone lurking in the background. This is a very beautiful scent.

    Werepuppy

Smells very similiar to Stinky on me on first sniff, which isn't a bad thing! This blend is much more creamy and comforting, though. On the drydown it becomes a little bit spicey but still soft, warm, and comforting. I will try wearing this to bed tonight.

    Pink Snowballs

I'm so glad I ordered this from the Lab unsniffed! In the bottle it's strong roses, but snow white is lingering underneath... wet on skin, mainly roses with a hint of the snow white scent. This is beautiful, I don't mind rose, but I love this! As it dries, Snow White emerges a little more, and the roses fade into the background. The rose note's still there, just not as in your face. beautiful!

    Crowd Pleasers

Velvet Clown - if you check out the sales forum, i've seen some lingering there My mom and I seem to have somewhat similiar skin chemistry... example, "O" both goes powdery on us, and ends up smelling like pure baby powder. But our tastes, that's a whole other thing.

    Crowd Pleasers

I second this! A lot of my personal top favorites are the halloweenies.
  18. doublehelix

    Habu

Very sweet and fruity when first applied. On the drydown I get more woodsy notes and musk... very little fruit, and no spices from the snake oil. Overall this is a pure woods blend with something sweet (fruit) lingering in the background.

    Asp Viper (2006)

Oh, yum! This is soft snake oil with cherry amaretto. Very nice, and foody! Once dry, the almond note is very dominant. Like a spicy marzipan pastry with very light snake oil.
  20. doublehelix

    Pink Mood

wet, this is HEAVY anise. On the drydown it fades slightly, making it a little more tolerable on me. I get a little bit of creamy florals, but the anise dominants this blend.
  21. doublehelix

    Womb Furie

Very reminiscent of "O". Just like the description says: Snake oil and honey! Sweet snake oil with honey. this is definitely not the spicey snake oil we all know, but a comforting, sweet version!

    The Zadok Allen Vineyard

in the imp: strong red wine wet on skin: less wine, more fruits and especially plum notes. very sweet, warm and fruity. dry on skin: wine and fruit. something about this has a sort of baked goods smell, like a fruit pastry.

    Banshee Beat

Omg. this is great. Very sweet vanilla and patchouli. The vanilla is almost foody sweet, but mixed with the patchouli and hemp it smells sooo yummy. like eating cake in the woods? This blend actually reminds me a little of voodoo, but more sweet. I *need* a bottle of this...
  24. doublehelix

    Prunella

Ripe purple plums, wildflowers, and cream. Strong plum with a hint of florals. There's got to be some babys breath in here! This is a very summer blend. I'm not getting any cream though. As it dries, the wildflowers take over, and that's all i'm left with.
  25. Second Banded Sea Snake But only if you're good with snake oil.
