    Kuang Shi

Interesting, this smells like lemon and orange candies on my skin. Not sure if it's really a "me" scent though.

    Hurricane

To me this really evokes the sinister nature of a hurricane rather than all the water and washed-up earth, grass etc. I get light aquatics with a deep, smoky vetiver that definitely brings visions of dark clouds to mind. Gorgeous

    Baku

Argh, on me this is very, very menthol, which unfortunately would keep me more awake than asleep.

    Kyoto

Ooo, this is like sweet and sexy licorice; the cherry bossom sweetens up the anise and the sandalwood gives it a come-hither feel. Makes me think of Memoirs of a Geisha.

    Kitsune-Tsuki

I have no idea why, but even though there's plum listed in the notes here, on me Kitsune-Tsuki comes out like...melon and banana?! It's probably an effect of the florals. Too bad, because plum is normally one of my favorite notes.

    Sophia

My skin doesn't agree with this at all, unfortunately On me it comes out like very strong lemon verbena with something menthol and a slight cat pee undertone. The cat pee fades and the rose comes out more on the drydown, but it still hits me as very lemon verbena for some reason. I

    Snake Oil

I know a lot of people out there are terrified of Snake Oil, and some plain disgusted by it, but I love this stuff. On me it's like exotic musks, almond and vanilla, sensual and delicious. It doesn't come out very patchouli or head shop on me at all, but I do have the type of skin that amps sweet stuff so I'm definitely amping the sweeter elements. But I love it in Cake Smash and I love it alone too. Hey, if you don't want it, just send it here!

    Ivanushka

This is all warm woods when it's wet, but my skin turns it very overpoweringly powdery--like really strong baby powder . I appreciate the concept, but hopefully this will go to someone whose skin appreciates it as well.

    Sleepy Moon

True to its name, Sleepy Moon is a claaming scent that's comforting to me because it reminds me of a certain soap we used to have in the bath when I was really young. This is by no means a soap insult! Whatever soap that was, and I can't remember fo rmy life, it was lovely and smelling this tkes me back to a smipler time when all I had to worry about was twhether I had enough bubbles to build a bubble castle in the tub. It's also special because it reminds me of my dad, who passed away 20 years ago but was still alive when that soap was still in the bathroom. A lovely scent

    Prospero

This is rich, red, plummy and beautiful, with the warmth of the golden amber and crystalline white musk only adding to its depth; reminds me of a grown-up grape candy, in a very good way.

    Black Lace

Though it's incensey out of the bottle, you really need to wait for Black Lace to dry down to get its full beauty. It's after it dries that the incense gives way to a gorgeous smoky vanilla, which must be the vanilla cream mixing with the tobacco, the come-hither warmth of musk and just a *hint* of booze that isn't overpowering at all. This is just lovely, dark and complex and has a simultaneous depth and ethereal quality to it, like actual black lace. Gorgeous!

    El Dia de los Reyes

All-out yum My skin does well with chocolate blends, and this creamy, spicy mocha doesn't disappoint. Omnomnomnomnom

    The Fruit of Paradise

This is all deep, dark, dripping, delicious, diabolical red fruit, and gets richer as it dries down. I can't wait to see how it ages, because if it's like this now, it's going to be positively droolworthy in another year...

    Joulumuori

Oh yum. This is just so, so good...I know prune soup might sound sick to some people, but come on, people, prunes are just dried plums, and aren't the holidays about visions of sugarplums? This is a richer, darker plum note and the mead is sweet and golden; there's also a slight creaminess from the rice pudding and a brimstone-y warmth which I'm guessing is the "hearth" note. This year's Yules are all winners so far

    Now Winter Nights Enlarge

Wow. This is out-and-out sexy. I absolutely love the vanilla-infused resd musk, which is really the star of the show on me along with the nutmeg, honey and caramel. The rest of the notes really add a nice dark base with a dash of mystery. Smells like something hot and creamy I'd want to be drinking on a cold winter's night.

    Yule Cat

The musk, civet and vetiver really kick this up and make it dark and sexy. A very night-out-wearing-a-leather-jacket type of scent. There really is something of a black leather-ish undertone, which only adds to its allure. Fierce and feline--amazing!

    Diable en Boîte

I love red musk, so I was sure this one would be a winner for me, and it is. The clove and redwood are at the top, supported by red musk and soaked in sweet blackcurrent. It's a murky and spicy scent that may have been inspired by something that comes up in people's nightmares, but is actually very alluring!

But Men Loved Darkness Rather Than Light

This one starts out deceptively cold and almost evergreen-ish and then warms up and just bursts with depth and spice. I'm definitely getting the clove, which I love and also amp The labdanum adds a lovely dark bitterness, the ginger and saffron and pimento berry spice it up, the smoky vanilla gives it an enticing sweetness, and the myrrh adds a hazy, incensy quality, the patchouli and sage and moss ground it in earthiness. So complex and so beautiful

    Ded Moroz

This really is both warm and cold at once: there's the warmth of the golden amber and crystalline quality of the white, the warmth of the woods and the coolness of the sage, tree moss and snow. For anyone afraid of rose, because I know a lot of people are, the bois du rose is barely noticeable, if at all. An ethereal and mysterious scent that really makes you want to sniff tiwce.

    Faunalia

This is just amazing; it's just intoxicating, for lack of a better word. Reminds me a bit of that E.M. Forster story where the girl is so enamored with the woods she eventually turns into a tree. It's got a lot of evergreen, and a great mix of evergreens, but the musk adds this wonderful feral quality that just makes it burst into life. Faunalia is rich, dark, warm, cold, inviting and sinister all at once--hard to describe in words--you have to smell it for yourself to see what I mean.

    Evening Cicadas and Red Peppers

This is very, very true to the description. I get it all: icy evergreen branches, dry leaves (I'm a huge sucker for dry leaves), a soft floral background and a certain warmth brought on by the musks and what must be the red peppers (no, this doesn't smell like regular or hot peppers I swear), the kind of warmth you get from sitting in a lighted room while a storm rages outside. This must have been a difficult concept to bring to life through scent--beautifully done!

    Sleipnir

This is delectible. At first I get hazelnut, then the honey appears, and finally the sweet wild berries. I'm not getting any hay or carrot specfically, but something of a warm undertone that the honey blends into perfectly like it does with the hay in Hay Moon, though the hay is much less obvious here. Sleipnir is just a delicious Christmas treat!

    Red Phoenix

I love this. It actually come out very cinnamonny on my skin, and before I looked at the note list I could have sworn there was cinnamon; maybe it's just the way things reacted with my chemistry. Cinnamon is one of my favorite notes, and to me this smells like cinnamon red hots all grown up and sexified, especially with the red musk. It's the bottled equivalent of a slinky red dress.

    Lilith and the Jarocho

I like the dash of lime mingling with the vanilla and candied tamarind in this blend, which is a perfect summer citrus for people who don't do stereotypical summery scents, but unfortunately it's battling with one of the florals that's taking on a cat pee undertone on my skin. I can't figure out what it is that does this--it's not jasmine or verbena for sure, maybe it's the marigold? The same thing happened to me with New Orleans. What a shame, because it really is a beautiful blend with a beautiful story behind it.

    Rose Moon

This has a very dominant rose note in the beginning--I'm thinking a deep pink rose color--but as it dries down the other layers surface and give it more sweetness and depth. Not sure if this is a "me" rose blend, since I tend to like prefer rose either mixed with something foody or as a supporting note, I'll have to try my decant again and really explore the layers.
