    Sugar Skull

2012 version: Lemonheads candy and powdered sugar! Reminds me of Lolita too, does Bpal still even make that blend? Hmm..any how this is a sister to Lolita for sure. I like this lemon, it's not "Pledge-y". Perhaps more of a summer time scent than a fall scent. Not so sure if I need a bottle, glad I got the imp though. My first Sugar Skull sampling btw, so I can't compare it to previous iterations.

    Mischief

Of all the 2012 Weenies, I was most excited for this blend. It's a gourmand Weenie with quite a bit of complexity! Upon first application I got a lot of cucumber, now that the cucumber has backed off, I'm getting a chunk of pumpkin pie with a super buttery crust, doused in cinnamon oil. It's spicy! Most spicy lab blends with cinnamon burn my skin and turn it beet red. This is pleasantly non irritating. I'm also picking up the "raw egg" note. As the previous reviwer mentioned there is also that "fresh green smelling pumpkin"...then on my skin it settles into pumpkin pie that has been super spiced, it's not mild at all.Final verdict: I'd like to add a bottle of Mischief to my collec. I can't stop thinking about Mischief, my fav of the Weenies 2012 thus far!

    Candied Pumpkin

Cinnamon overload for me unfortunately. It dominates the blend leaving the pumpkin no room to surface. Clove makes a subtle appearance in the far background, but this is basically all cinnamon on my skin.

    Ghosts In Love

Sadly this turned out to be dusty, nauseating carnation/rose and bar soap smell on my skin.I had to wash it off. It smells like a dust covered old bar of soap with a cloying grandma smell.

    The Changeling

Blonde wood, linen swaddling, pumpkin rind, and bourbon vanilla. This falls in the "grown up fall scent" category for me.Perhaps it's a little too grown up, as it is reminding me of expired granny perfume baked in a bonfire. I was hoping for the pumpkin and bourbon vanilla to make more of an appearance. Instead this is more of a smokey woodsy scent on my skin. It's not a sexy woodsy smokey either. I will let it age and re-test.

    The Green Apple Of Venus

This reminds me of Lolita with a "greeny" quality. I do get a bit of tarte green apple, but this is bordering on synthetic lemon cleaner.I'm on the fence with this one.I will test again and see what happens but it does not look promising.

    Elegy IX: The Autumnal

Another Weenie from 2011 that just did not work out for me. There is not much that I can say about this one except all I am getting is Pine Sol, a lot of cleanser solvent type pine is bombarding my nose. The other notes don't even have a chance to appear on my skin as this dominates the whole blend for me.

    John Barleycorn

Not sure how but this is reminiscent of "Irish Spring", or another cheap grocery store bar soap. In the vial it smells a bit more interesting, on my skin this morphs into a major flop: a somewhat geriatric soap/aftershave/perfume product. This is not working out, hah.

    Pumpkin Princess

Sadly Pumpkin Princess delivers no pumpkin for me. All I am detecting is the tiare flower sweetened up with a touch of vanilla. The tiare is the prominent note on my skin, and really bombards my nose upon first application. Sadly the other notes fail to appear, and I am especially pining for the pumpkin in "Pumpkin Princess". This drys down to a boring, bland floral. I will let it age and perhaps it will develop into a bottle to keep in my collection. Not very much luck with the Weenies this year. The label is adorable, probably the my top pick for the cutest ever besides Sprinklecake's label.

    Boo

2011 version: This is a clean cotton, dull vanilla scent on my skin. It fades quickly and leaves a very synthetic vanilla lingering. I am not having very much luck with the Weenies this year.

    Halloween: Las Vegas

I was hoping for the red velvet cake, that I read so much about pertaining to this scent. I'm smitten with red velvet cake, so when I heard it mentioned many times in the will call reviews page, I had to have this. In the bottle this is a rich, smokey-vampy scent. On me this drys down to a sweet, absolutely sugar laden red wine with wafts of smoke and incense. I detect a faint whiff of snake oil lingering in the background. If only I could get the red velvet cake that others found. Pretty good, not back up worthy in my case.

    Autumn Cider

I agree with the last reviewer, their review is spot on! This smells like totally delicious fruit punch in the bottle, with a waft of apple. The fruit punch scent is so delicious you may be prompted to drink it. On my skin the cinnamon component is burning and irritating: :smite: . During the drydown the orange and citrus appear as the scene stealers. Afterward this started to remind me of an apple cinnamon candle. It's not overbearing in the "candle" scent type department, enough for me to ignore it. I do enjoy this however, I will need a scent locket due to the intense burn from the cinnamon. Please be advised if you have sensitive skin. My significant other said this reminds him of the scent inside the store Pier One.

    Halloween: Montreal

From the bottle I smell something delicious yet indiscernible. I smell a toasted, roasted something or other. Vague description, I just can't describe it and the descriptive notes are not coming to mind. Upon application to my wrists this is all PINE and MINT. Pine and mint overkill. I'm not picking up anything else, and it has faded so quickly after drydown that I am left "pining" for more, more of the notes in the description, not anymore pine. I am getting a faint waft of smoke left clinging to my skin. I picked this up from Pretty Indulgent for about 30.00 USD. A little bummed out on this one,and will be passing it on.The description was everything I wanted in a Halloween scent, sadly it did not deliver.I suggest a trying a sample first if you can. The pine may disagree with you as it did in my case.

    Sprinklecake

Smells like a delicious vanilla cake, with chocolate buttercream frosting in the bottle. And the label is possibly the cutest ever in BPAL history. Sadly my skin chemistry is doing this no justice whatsover. It went on a lovely vanilla and quickly morphed into a plastic, artificial dull smelling chocolate. It faded faster than ever, and now I am left with two whole bottles. I was banking on the description as being a total "me" scent. The upside is I will be re-gifting as stocking stuffers! I know this will work for someone.

    Best "look at me" scents?

Black Temple Burlesque Troupe, The Hellgate of Ireland, Pancake Breakfast (super sexy vanilla galore). Black Temple Burlesque is a commanding, loud, racy scent.

    MVJBA: Pancake Breakfast

I recently unearthed this bottle and gave it a spin to receive a bevy of lovely compliments! This is a sultry sweet vanilla, with a smoky quality. I do not notice any berry-ness. Highly recommended for you sweet vanilla addicts!

    Anactoria

This is a sexy sophisticated womanly perfume. It comes off a little strong and perhaps "Elizabeth Taylor" at first and then settles into something more siren-esque. Siren is not in reference to the perfume but to a gorgeous seductive woman. Luperci was simply too "grandma", Anactoria is much more feminine and pretty, more young and exuberant. I am terrible at describing notes and I am not well versed in components, so I could not tell you what this really smells like, one thing I do decipher from the aforementioned description is the golden amber and the Arabian musk. Pretty delicious but not on the light side if that is what you are looking for. This actually sticks around for a while.

White Chocolate, Strawberry, and White Pepper Truffle

I had such high hopes for this one, it is just too weak. I like the concept and the white pepper note in the background. The strawberry is a somewhat generic smelling strawberry scent but the white chocolate is nice and creamy but basic. Sadly it just disappears on my skin. I wish it had more staying power.

    Inganok Jewelers

This one was a nice golden oil that had zero irritation factor once it touched my skin. I like this! It is unique and intriguing. I am getting the stone and silver, a very earthy factor for sure. I am getting visions of rock tumblers and shining sterling silver. Then I am getting leather, a masculine leather that is not too strong. Very good, something to try out out of the ordinary. Glad I ordered a bottle of this.

    Sachs

Sachs is the perfume equivalent to Sleepy Time Tea. A bedtime scent to apply after a long bubble bath. This is a soft and cozy scent, that might make you sleepy. I am getting mostly chamomile with this, which was somewhat of a downer as I wanted more vanilla. It's ok not something I would repurchase.

    Luperci

Luperci 2009:I cannot pinpoint any exact note in this, on my skin it is a mish mash of a dusky grandma perfume, very geriatric. I really wanted to order the 2010 version but I am afraid of the 09.

    Enraged Groundhog Musk

Really ridiculous, insanely inappropriate, and staggeringly silly! Cranky groundhog musk sweetened up by chocolate-covered black cherries, cardamom, French vanilla, and caramel. When I first opened the Groundhog I went gaga over it, because at first whiff it smelled like a fresh baked batch of oatmeal cookies.Piping hot and delicious! I had to hunt this down because the scent description had me hooked. Chocolate covered cherries, french vanilla and caramel....let me fork over my cash. After applying it my ultra sensitive pale skin started burning and turned a crimson shade. This must be a spice component. If I am not careful I can get burned quite easily with these. I am trying hard to get any chocolate or cherry from this with no such luck. The French Vanilla and caramel are not surfacing for me either. Basically every element of the groundhog that I wanted has decided not to present itself. If this scent had a sound it would be a shrill cry that hurts your ears. And to the nose this is a blast of cinnamon oil with a burned quality radiating warmth off my skin. This is quite the volatile substance. Hardcore stinging cinnamon spice, not complex at all. Mr.Groundhog is a strong and boisterous fellow.

    Love's Philosophy

I finally got my mitt's on this one to suffer a grand disappointment because it's lasting power is very weak and fleeting. Upon the first application I get a minty milk of magnesia, that wintergreen so many of you commented on, then a lovely vanilla that I am quite fond of. It's a soft vanilla not cloying or too pungent. Perhaps it's the saffron tempering it. Sadly, I slathered this all over to find that it virtually disappeared within twenty minutes or less.

    Velvet Unicorn

This scent is the Easter holiday encapsulated in a bottle, pastel plastic Easter eggs included. This scent is SPRINGTIME. I am getting Peeps marshmallow bunnies and chicks crusted in colorful sugar granules. In the backdrop a pale buttercup yellow lemon meringue pie swirled with cherry and vanilla candies that are not like cough syrup at all. Just delicious cherries nothing artificial or swamped in saccharin. Then I get the pastel plastic eggs upon the drydown. If it were not for the plastic this would be a potential back up worthy choice.

    Playing with a Loaded Gun

I am getting a tall glass of highly carbonated fizzing ginger ale, and it's double concentrated. Musk lays in the backdrop upon drydown, but remains faint to me.
