    Akuma

I put off trying this for a while (it was a frimp) because it sounded like it would be a disaster on me. I don't do well with orange or sweet scents. However, I am finding that I really like this. In the imp, it was all blood orange. However, upon dry down I am getting much more neroli and raspberry. It smells like raspberry candy, but a bit softer and darker and with more of a floral undertone to it. I'm pleasantly surprised by this one...I keep on sniffing my wrist, which is always a good sign!

    Dreamland

God, this is beautiful. I love the Poe collection. On me, this is a spicy floral and musky blend. In the bottle and on the skin, the musk jumps out at me, but upon drydown it becomes the most gorgeous carnation floral scent, with a hint of skin musk. It doesn't smell like I'm wearing perfume, if that makes any sense - it feels like I'm naturally emitting a gorgeous floral smell. It really suits the name, too - it's kind of dreamy, fitfu land refreshing all at once. Absolutely adore this

    Sudha Segara

To me, this smelt just like tea. A nice, fragrant cup of black tea with a touch of milk. It disappeared rather quickly, but it was lovely whilst it lasted. This is a very soothing scent that would be lovely in winter.

    Hades

I don't know if I love this or hate this. I love narcissus, but I'm not loving the myrrh. It smells dark and regal and mysterious, which I like, but it has a stale earthiness about it that I don't like. I have never been so confused by a BPAL scent! I think some notes in this work really well on me, some notes don't work at all. It's like there is a war happening on my wrist, which is pretty trippy. Anyway, it's very evocative of Hades - the place, not the person - and a really interesting scent.

    The Unicorn

A misty, almost luminous perfume: wispy linden blossoms, white flowers, and a touch of sweet herbs. This is a light, airy, ethereal green floral on me. It doesn't really smell fruity on me, but it does have a hint of herbs that give it a certain pale greenness. It is very wispy and light and beautiful, but it is lasting a surprisingy long time on me. I really like this, it's perfect for spring days when you just want to wear something light and pretty.

    Fae

Fae smelt very, very strongly of white musk in the imp and upon direct application. Like, it could have been single note white musk on me. However, upon dry down the peach is the dominant note. This is a ripe peach scent - very sweet and very ripe. It is a little too sweet for me, though - I like peach, but this is super peach, almost candy-like, and I'd prefer it if the white musk scent stuck around a little more. Heliotrope never seems to work for me, and I think it is turning this blend a little funky on me. The name suits the blend, though - it is definitely ethereal and airy. But not one I would repurchase.

    Kyoto

A gentle, soothing blend of cherry blossom, white sandalwood and star anise. This smelt like cough medicine in the vial, which wasn't exactly pleasant. The cough medicine scent stuck around until it dried down, at which point it became a light cherry blossom scent. Really sweet. However, that only lasted about half an hour on me and now it is almost completely gone. Not horrible and pleasant at points, but not something I'd get again.

    Ingenue

Got this as a lovely frimp in one of my recent orders, and didn't try it for ages because with that description, the chances of me not loving it were very thin. And I was right, of course. This is an absolutely beautiful fruity, floral, aquatic, feminine blend. Going on, the topnote is the melon, but as it dries down the violet, water lilies and rose come out. The wood notes lie underneath the flowers, and complement them beautifully. This is very dreamy, innocent and utterly gorgeous. I am going to horde my imp something fierce, and if Beth wants to bring it back, I'll buy two bottles straight off the bat, promise!

    The Hesperides

This is very, very appley. Almost single note apple on me. However, it is less 'real' apple and more apple-flavoured candies, if that makes sense. It's very young and fresh, but it goes a bit sickly on my skin. I much prefer Eve for an apple note - this is a bit 'fake apple' for me. Still pleasant, though, and I will probably keep the imp.

    Suspiro

This is a beautiful floral...it is predominantly jasmine on me, but I do get hints of white plum and a bit of lily as well. However, on me this is definitely a jasmine scent. I don't love it as much as I love other jasmine scents like Nuit or Black Dahlia, but it is very pretty and a kinda mellow floral scent.

    Dragon's Musk

I love this, it's so sexy. This is a fairly straight-forward blend - dragon's blood and a deep musk. Almost fruity, and spicy and resiny and musky all at the same time. A very sex, vampish, 'red' scent. On me, anyway!

    Szepasszony

This is so absolutely gorgeous. It's white florals and aquatics and a little bit of citrus and the smell of the air after it rains. It is a light scent, but it has a decent amount of throw and is so crisp and fresh. Love it - definitely have to get a big bottle. If you like the way the world smells after it rains, you'll like this scent.

    House of Night

Oh, this one is just gorgeous. The name is perfectly evocative of what it smells like - on me, this is flowers and the woods and even a swamp at night. It's sorrowful and subdued, but beautiful at the same time. It is so well blended I can't isolate one or two notes. Upon application it is very green, with flowers poking their heads out upon drydown. Love it and will have to pick up a bottle for when I want to feel really still and quiet.

    Sea of Glass

I tried The City in the Sea before I tried this, and I think they complement each other beautifully. Sea of Glass is a still beach scent - beautiful calm waters with florally/citrus overtones. It is the smell of summer holidays to me. Fresh and clean and beautiful.

    All Saints'

2005 version This is just as gorgeous as the 2004 version, although slightly different. The bread top note of the 2004 version is gone. Rather, in the wet stage, this is a full and luscious rose blend, with a bit of lily there too. Overall, I found this far more floral than the 2004 version, but the drydown is oddly similar. The incense really comes out after an hour or so, and it smells like exactly like flowers sitting in church at the altar, surrounded by wafting incense. It's just as lovely and atmospheric as the 2004 version, but is probably slightly more floral and I don't get the hint of the Eucharist that I did in the 2004 version. I loved 2004, but 2005 is even better

    The City in the Sea

I'm going to be unimaginative and say: Macha's review is dead-on. On me, this is a deep sea aquatic...the smell of salt-water and sea weed (which is surprisingly pleasant) and even old pieces of wood floating around in the water. It is not a beachy scent, but a very atmospheric and evocative aquatic. It smells like the air at sea, if that makes sense. It's absolutely gorgeous

    The Sleeper

I have to agree that this starts off very sharp - definitely the rosemary coming to the fore initially. However, it is not an overwhelming sharpness, but is actually rather lovely. Almost brittle? I can't really describe it all that well, but it is very distinctive. Upon drydown, the rosemary remains, but the jasmine, calla lily and what I think is the opium poppy come out. It is a subtly spicy, musky floral scent. I agree with the above review that is almost smoky, but there is almost a white musk feel to it as well, which might be what 'crypt musk' smells like. The jasmine, for those who are scared of it, does not dominate, but is just lurking there with the other notes. It is really well-blended and complicated. Absolutely love this. First of the Demon scents that I have tried and I am very, very impressed

    Nocturne

This is a lovely, soft, gentle scent. It is more lilac than violet on me, with a hint of tuberose. It is a very calming scent and I think I am going to use it as a sleep aid more than anything else. It's very comforting and snuggly. Excellently blended and just gorgeous. It is powdery, but that's good for a scent like this

What do bottles and labels look like?

And The City in the Sea as well, which is just gorgeous.

    Moon Rose

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love Beth's rose scents, they are all so different and special in their own way. This smells like a pink rose covered in dew. It goes on beautifully and dries down even nicer...you can smell the moonflower starting to poke its head out, which just makes the rose smell even nicer, to me. This is definitely a spring/summer scent and definitely something I need a big bottle of.

    Beatrice

A scent inspired by Beatrice, Rappaccini’s delicate, beautiful, innocent and deadly daughter. A fragile, winsome, poisonous blend of rare, precious and graceful flowers, rich blossoms and spicy perfumes that passes heavily, as a broken heart, across the borders of Time. This is everything I wanted from Beatrice, plus more. Beatrice is a sexy, sweet, but kinda dangerous floral scent. On me, it is predominantly spicy roses, with hints of carnation and other florals. I can't really identify all the flowers in here, because it is blended so well, but it is definitely very feminine. It dries down beautifully on me...the spiciness of the florals really comes out and kinda blossoms on the skin. Absolutely gorgeous. It is so evocative of the story, too - the beautiful, innocent girl trapped in the deadly garden, full of beautiful and poisonous plants.

    Darkness

This was a frimp from the lab and I would never have picked it for myself...but I find I am really liking it. This blend smells like darkness, in a way that I can't really identify. It just smells kinda dark and sultry. It is very incensey, but with a dark floral smell (the narcissus, I imagine) underlying it. I think I might be falling in love with this - it's very different to what I usually wear, in that I usually avoid incensey, candle-type smells, but this is so sexy that it just might have to go on my 'must buy bottles' list.
  23. Scarlettfish

    Rapture

This is just absolutely gorgeous on me. Jasmine is the strongest note, but there is a lovely underlying citrus and rose smell to it. It is so sexy...I agree that it is like afterglow, as it almost does seem to 'glow' on the skin. Love, love, love this.

    Queen Mab

I'm quite perplexed with this one. When it went on it was a gorgeous musky floral - really exotic and shadowy, as the description implies. But now - nothing! Where did you go? Weird, because florals are really lovely and long-lasting on me usually, especially jasmine. Might have to try this one again.
  25. Scarlettfish

    Eternal

This is a sheer, ethereal, lovely white floral scent. It definitely evokes kinda other-worldly images, so the name is very appropriate. It is predominantly white rose on me, but there is a hint of smoky, light incense and gardenia. This is lovely and I'm going to have to order a bottle of this one!
