Black Cherry Amaretto Christmas Puddin' Hair Gloss

Sweet Christmas pudding with black cherries soaked in vanilla-drizzled amaretto. This is so nice! Not really boozy, like I was expecting. I'd say Christmas pudding with black cherries is accurate though. It's not too sweet or in your face. It's just a nice, light cherry/vanilla kinda smell. It feels more like the smell leans on the atmospheric side of things, rather than foodie. But I love foodie, so maybe I'm not the best person to identify that.

    En Garde

This started out sweet, caramely cookies/candy. I can see the distinction in the masculine drydown, though. I think Zankoku_zen nailed it, a foodie pirate blend is accurate! Eta: Goes well with Pumpkin Spice Silkybat HG, IMO.

    Goblin Stampede

Wet: on me, I get the coffee, but I feel like it's more diner coffee than any type of espresso. Then a cleaner fluid of some sort starts to emerge. I know I'm making this sound horrible so far, but it's not that bad. I think it's the cardamom and cheap coffee pairing up to smell like lemony cleaner. That, or my nose is on the fritz again. Dry: the cardamom comes more to the stage. The coffee seems to have disappeared. It's like a cardamom-heavy pumpkin chai. Not quite what I was expecting, but nice nonetheless.

    Coffee notes?

Goblin Stampede is another suggestion, which I think is still available for the Trading Post on Etsy right now. You have to like cardamom, though.

    The Pancake Bell

It's fun, but I really just smell generic maple syrup. I'm not getting anything as nuanced as previous posters. I'll try again later.

The Fiery Clinch of Ecstasy Hair Gloss

I'll be honest, I ordered this just for the artwork! And I saw that it had notes that would work for me. This was surprisingly really enjoyable. It's just light and sweet enough to enjoy any time of the year, and strong enough to stick around for hours. I think the musk and patchouli are really the one notes that standout the most to me. The pepper keeps it from being overly sweet. I think this would make a great perfume, as well.

    Excellent Pancakes

Spicy, appley, and buttery. Like a really happy apple candle. I feel horrible categorizing it that simply, but being the apple lover I am, I feel like I have something similar in my collection. I don't think I would expect pancakes out of this, but if you think about it hard enough, you could imagine them.

    Year of the Ox

Wow, I really amped the tobacco on this, and I wasn't expecting to. It starts out warm, sweet tobacco with peppercorn around the edges. It's not harsh, it's sweeter than I would guess from these notes. I initially was going to skip it because cognac usually smells gross on me, but this seems to work. I don't know if it's the musk or the wood that's helping the cognac to work on me. This actually reminds me a lot of Fortuna Annonaria. I think the musk is making this a bit cosier than Annonaria, but it's still that sweet, chewy tobacco that I super enjoy. If you missed Annonaria, give this a try.

    Alleviate the Frenzy

Classy perfume is a good way to categorize this. When I put it on, I didn't remember any of the notes. It was sweet, and fruity, with the amber bringing a certain perfumey quality to it. On me, it dried down to a generic sweet perfume. No notes really standout, and i have to get really close to my skin to smell it.

    Bright Red Dildo

This is from the 2019 version. Wet: I definitely get the scent memory of heading to the beach, which is odd given the notes. I guess that's what red leather does on me? That kinda musky, coconutty sunscreen vibe. dry: I was super hesitant given that honey amps on me. I'm pleasantly surprised that the leather doesn't let it take over. I do enjoy the smell of this wet vs. dry, though. It's a close-to-the-skin scent when it dries. It also becomes less diverse. I get mostly dry honey and sun-warmed leather that's dried out.

Snakes in the Last Snows of Winter

Slushy, soapy snow drowns anything else in it. If there is a hint of Snake Oil, I don't pick it up. In fact, I'm a bit surprised by how much the snow note seems to amp on my skin.

    Snakes in the Lemon Tree

For me, the vetiver is far in the background. This smells like Lemon Sugar Cookies to me. Sweet and yummy!

I Was Put an Alien in Their World

Wet: I can definitely smell the crushed herbs. It's like vanilla and a mish-mash of various herbs. And they are fighting to dominate. Drydown: I can see the candy sweetness mentioned before. This is very light, a great spring smell that isn't overpowering. Super easy to wear.

Snakes Basking in the First Sunbeams of Spring

Yep, this is definitely foodie. I usually amp honey, but I'm not for this one. Marzipan is coming to mind, but it's not directly almond. It's most just sweet cookie.

    Abolish ICE

Chewy tobacco with a hint of patchouli. It's a bit sweet, but the tobacco takes over on my skin. It's wonderful if you enjoy the toffee/tobacco/patchouli blends. It's pretty loud and sticks around for a while.

Snickerdoodle Coffee with Hazelnut Cream Atmosphere Spray

I smell cookies and hazelnut straight away. Nothing burned, and the coffee isn't strong to my nose. This is superb.

Dried Apple, Styrax, Patchouli, and Lemon Peel

Maybe I need to go to NYCC for these event exclusives since they always impress me. I'm really surprised not to see more reviews. Styrax. Benzoin. I don't really know the difference, but it seems to make most blends not work for me, so I tend to avoid it. This was great on me for 10 minutes during the drydown stage. It smells like an oldish apple candle with old wreath smell that happens to be sitting in the laundry room. This smells just like my aunt's laundry room in her old historic home. Slightly sweet, clean, and fruity, with some woodiness rounding it out. It's nice, but I don't think I would be quick to recommend this to apple fans. I can see this being a better room spray.
  18. Update: Gacela of the Dark didn't quite work, but The Cross of the Snow was pretty close!

    Coffee notes?

I know a lot of people are saying that O the Joy of My Spirit is hazelnuts, but I picked up coffee from this blend. Also, Schere, Stein, Papier! is coffee that is a bit drunk. Secrets, too, but I can't vouch for that myself. Personally, if I want just straight black coffee, I like the Guatemalan Volcanic Coffee Bean.
  20. I dont have much to say about this photo except it was Liliths first time in Chicago, her first time to see it snow and her first time catching snowflakes. I love her dearly. Coconut snow, wolly lavender, and the rosy glow of my love for her. The label says Snowflakes in Chicago. Last minute change so people wouldn't eat it? Slushy snow note we are all familiar with. And there's something clean and warm, which works for the woolly lavender. I can smell the coconut if I think about it hard enough. Its not overpowering at all. I think its a sweet, minty snow with warmish lavender in the background.

    Kapitelplatz Chess Match

So, I unexpectedly have a weird memory association with this. This reminds me of all of the smells when my grandmother would get ready for church on Sunday mornings. It's like a mix of her perfume, the smell of her cosmetics, hairspray, fresh shower, and clean-clothes smell. Mixed with the wood paneling inside her house? Super unexpected, yet surprisingly lovely. On me, this is definitely feminine. I would recommend it for Snake Oil lovers, but only if you like wood, as well.

Aunt Rosie's All-Purpose Cephalopod Bath Oil

The coconut isn’t terribly strong for me. I think the tea and ginger stand out the most. The rice milk gives it a creamy vibe. And it’s not overpowering. I’d say it’s a fruity floral tea.

    Snow Moon 2019

Fruity and slushy. I was hoping for something similar to Snow. Glass. Apples, but this is not that. The yuzu is pretty strong and constant. That, mixed with the white tea remind me of the fancy department store perfumes. When I get in closer for a whiff, the apple and the musk make it more complex and bearable. I can't place which snow note this is, but it's not the minty gum one. I'm going to guess it's more of a green, herbaceous one. I think I end up catching some pine trees, but it morphs into something else. Overall, I think this is really well blended. But it's fairly perfumey for me, and I think I don't like yuzu that much.

    Atsui-Mono

How do I even follow up after that amazing review? This is so pretty and creamy. It starts out smelling like fancy soap, I guess that's the tea and fig. To me, fig doesn't have a definitive smell. Just generically sweet. It ends up smelling like a fancy version of a cream coconut. And the honey isn't overpowering or amping on me, which is a plus. It's really nice, I recommend it!

    National Emergy (sic)

This smells pretty amazing in the bottle. It smells really nice after it's on, but that's about it. Very tropical, like ginger flower and a hint of orange. I can see the link to suntan oil, but this smells too much on the citrus side for me to consider that. Wet, it's great. But it only seemed to last an hour or two, then became this bland, light ginger smell on my hand. I can see amping this up a bit by mixing it with some peppercorn and patchouli that sticks around. Maybe it just doesn't play well with my chemistry. I can also see the link to Chimes Orange ginger candy. It's just not "loud" enough for me. I feel like it's way too subtle.
