    Nefertiti

In the imp: Exactly like the stamen of a flower with a lotlotlot of pollen on it. On, wet: Green and spring-like, flowers just starting to emerge from buds. On, dry: Unpleasantly floral, on the verge of turning into baby powder on me.

    Shoggoth

In the imp: This one morphed on me in the space of one inhale. It's sharp and coconutty with a lot of lime, but not like a tropical drink -- more like something from deep in the ocean. On, wet: Citrus that is no longer identifiable as lime and sweet coconut meat. There's a gentle bit of musk running underneath. On, dry: This is such an interesting scent. Sharp and sweet and aquatic, the longer it sits on my skin, the more I smell of hinoki, one of my favorite notes. I really, really like it.

    Manhattan

In the imp: I get the notes in this order -- leather, teak, lemon and mint. It's delicious. On, wet: Very lemony and I kind of want to say that it smells kind of dusty, but not in an unpleasant way. It's like a man's study that has just been dusted with lemon Pledge. Which I like the smell of, apparently. On, dry: Mmmm, lemony leather with a touch of mint. It smells like a distinguished older gentleman. I'm not sure how I feel about wearing it out, but I could happily huff my wrists for the next couple of hours...

    Delight

In the imp: Okay, this is weird, but my very first impression of this one is . It's, um... interesting. On, wet: The background of this is exactly like plumeria scents that I've smelled before, but the foreground is something sharp and unpleasant to my nose. It's unexpectedly tangy. On, dry: Yep, sharp, unpleasant, dirty. I stand by my first impression.

    Bess

In the imp: Whew, that's astringent. Rosemary, which isn't one of my favorites, plus mint. It's very strong. On wet: Okay, the mint takes a backseat almost instantly and I get more of the florals, but still a very strong rosemary presence. Oddly, this one smells purple to me, almost like this "grape" scented plastic ball that I had as a kid... On, dry: Alrighty, I expected this to go absolutely haywire on my skin, because most of the time that's exactly what roses do. Instead, I'm just getting a vaguely musty generic perfume smell. It's not highly objectionable, but it's also not very personal -- it's just kind of eh. Also, I'm getting no throw at all from this one.

    Kill-Devil

In the imp: Mmmm, something sugary and deep, balanced out by the freshness of the oak. On, wet: Mostly oak with the faintest touch of molasses. On, dry: This is delicious. Super sweet honey and a touch of light-colored wood -- a very golden scent. I like it a lot.

    The Coil

In the imp: A very interesting minty smell, almost like toothpaste or mouthwash -- not sweet, more medicinal. On, wet: Sweeter on the skin than in the imp, like lightly sugared mint. After a few seconds, something floral peeps its head out at me. On, dry: This settles down into something purely eucalyptus on me, like the backseat of my grandmother's car after she'd been driving around with eucalyptus wreathes in the trunk. I kind of like it, just not as a perfume.

    #20 Love Oil

In the imp: Holy crap, I was not expecting an oil so light in color to be so very strong. I'm not great at picking out individual notes, but there's something in there that clears up my sinuses, like eucalyptus. It smells so very *green*. On, wet: I'm still getting something menthol or minty out of this, plus something maybe a little musky. On, dry: Okay, it's still menthol, but over a base of a really down-and-dirty musk. It really does smell like a cathouse.
  9. catatonic1242

    Glasgow

In the imp: Mmmm, wet, juicy, plump blackberries, grounded by something green and lush. On, wet: Somewhat the same as it was in the imp, but with a dash of something that smells like clean linen and soap. On, dry: There's something about this that reminds me of a perfume I wore when I was much, much younger called Sunflowers. It's seriously kind of tripping me out and taking me back to the early '90s. I like it, just as I liked it then, but I can't see myself wearing this because I'd just cringe at the memory of 12-year-old me.

    Aeval

In the imp: It's all sweet pea, all the time in the imp. On, wet: It reminds me a lot of the B&BW Sweet Pea lotion that I used to love years and years ago. It's such a pink smell. On, dry: Still very pink and feminine and girly, but not overwhelmingly so because the throw is minimal. I wasn't anticipating liking this, but it's really lovely and warm and comforting.

    White Chocolate, Marshmallow, and Coconut

In the bottle: White chocolate and coconut, without any of the promised marshmallow. On, wet: White chocolate and coconut, again, without any other layers. On, dry: This fades into pure white chocolate on me, like all of the other white chocolate blends did.

    Glowing Vulva at Ryogoku Bridge

In the imp: Man, this stinks. It smells like vinegar. On, wet: Yes, vinegar and baby powder. On, dry: Okay, it's a little better now -- the vinegar smell has mellowed and now it's a softer powder smell, light and airy but not altogether pleasant. The throw isn't great, and on me, the application was completely gone in about an hour. Thank gods this doesn't work on me -- I don't have to go crazy trying to find it!
  13. catatonic1242

    Swank

In the imp: It smells like a very strong vodka martini with just a hint of pomegranate. On, wet: It's striking me as maybe a little more traditionally "perfume-y" than I was expecting. It's almost too warm for a scent that's supposed to be crisp. On, dry: Okay, it's a little heavier on the pomegranate now, but I'm still getting a load of clear alcohol and a traditional perfume aroma. It's nice, but not really what I was expecting or hoping for.

    Carnal

In the imp: When I was prying the imp open, I got a big whiff of something floral. But smelling the oil on the wand, I only get the sweet fizziness of oranges grounded by a touch of fig. It's really, really nice. On, wet: Sweet orange candy, almost like those bottlecaps that are meant to taste like sodas. It makes me want to lick my arm. On, dry: So, so yummy. It smells like blood orange to me -- I don't get a lot of fig, but I think that's probably what's keeping the orange under control. It smells clean and bright and inviting. Honestly, it's what I was hoping Orange Phoenix would smell like.

    Black Phoenix

In the imp: Wow, this doesn't smell like I was expecting at all. To me, it's clean and cool and crisp and fruity. On, wet: My nose isn't really sophisticated enough to pick out individual notes, but I certainly smell either cherry or almond. On, dry: Black cherry cola. I want to say that it's nice, but occasionally I get a little whiff of something that smells slightly medicinal.
  16. catatonic1242

    Crimson Christmas

In the bottle: Dirty, dirty peppermint. On, wet: Still getting the peppermint, but there's something underneath that smells almost floral. On, dry: A weird plastic-mint combination that is making me think of a car air freshener. Not too great on me, unfortunately.
  17. catatonic1242

    Snake Charmer

In the bottle: A slightly lighter version of Snake Oil. Less dry, if that makes any sense. On, wet: Musk and incense and what I'm interpreting as a faint bit of smoke. On, dry: I finally get the coconut, but just as in the original Snake Oil, I can't smell the vanilla. *cries* I'm going to have to keep this one to age for a while before I try it again.
  18. catatonic1242

    Screeching Parrot

In the bottle: Rum and pineapple with just a hint of grapefruit hanging out in the background. On, wet: Gosh, grapefruit and lime and I feel like I occasionally get a weird hint of cinnamon. It smells SO GOOD. I want a frozen drink that tastes like my wrist smells. On, dry: Where did it go? No, seriously. I've had it on for less than 10 minutes and it's vanished. Come back, fruity frozen drinky beachy goodness!
  19. catatonic1242

    Rangoon Riptide

In the bottle: I could *swear* that I am smelling coconut. Like a light coconut rum. On, wet: I still get coconut, but also pineapple and sweet, tropical fruits. The alcohol smell is strong and sticky sweet. On, dry: Like a fruity rum drink on the beach. I was hoping to get something a little more berry out of this, but it doesn't really appear.
  20. catatonic1242

    Sugar Skull

Sugar Skull '07: In the bottle: Light simple syrup, almost like corn syrup, with something sweet but unidentifiable underneath. On, wet: Okay, this is weird, but I'm getting sour red wine out of this. On, dry: This smells exactly like sangria on me.
  21. catatonic1242

    Pirate Moon

Caveat -- I currently cannot hear out of my left ear, and while that shouldn't really affect my sense of smell, for some reason, it makes things smell a little less than they normally would. I'm weird. In the bottle: Wood and grass and something just a little bit sweet. On, wet: I get something different every time I smell this. It's a faint bit of leather with just a little bit of lime, woodsy and salty. On, dry: I'm getting a little more musk than I would normally like, but the leather is nice and full-bodied, as most leather tends to be on me. It's nice, but a little too men's cologne for me.
  22. catatonic1242

    Orange Phoenix v6

In the imp: Spicy orange Fanta. On, wet: Kind of a delightful orange soap smell -- not floral at all, but not really fruity, either. Actually, I used to have a shampoo from Bath & Body Works called "Orange Creamsicle," and that's exactly what this smells like. It's nice. On, dry: Fizzy orange candy. It's light and uncomplicated -- very refreshing. I would wear this every day if I had more than a drop in an imp. *g*
  23. catatonic1242

    Vixen

In the imp: I'm sorry, but my first thought was, "yuck." This smells dirty. On, wet: Dying, too-sweet flowers and cheap incense. On, dry: This is just not my smell. The flowers have turned into powder on my skin, and the incense smells "off."
  24. catatonic1242

    Santo Domingo

In the imp: Blossoms, blossoms, blossoms. On, wet: So many flowers. I'm not getting anything else at all. On, dry: Fabric softener. Very, very faint fabric softener.
  25. catatonic1242

    Mad Hatter

In the imp: Lavender-citron cologne describes this perfectly. On, wet: This makes me crinkle my nose, and I can't decide if that's good or bad. There's a touch of peppermint in this. It's fascinating. On, dry: Still really weird. I wasn't expecting lavender to be masculine, no matter what the description said, but this really is. I think I'd like it on a guy, but not so much for me (and I like some of the more masculine scents).
