Starts off as 80% a sweet, golden, resinous frankincense and 20% a lovely, spicy, herbal tomato leaf. The frankincense goes a little smoky in the drydown and completely overtakes the tomato leaf, though. It's a gorgeous frankincense single note, but I do wish the tomato leaf were stronger. I have a lot of resin dominant blends that smell almost identical to this one at this point. Similar to Cathedral, Midnight Mass, Clement I's Phoenix, etc)...

Banana laffy taffy and chilled whipped cream. This reminds me very much of Splatter Comedy, which was previously my favorite of bpal's banana scents. The only difference is that instead of the hint of metal from Splatter Comedy, there's a hint of warm cake in this one and something like salted caramel. I didn't like the musky, dry banana scent in Banana Cream Pie, but this is creamy and delicious. Banana Laffy Taffy, lots of chilled whipped cream, and hints of warm cake and buttery, salted caramel. Yum.

This reminds me of a candy that I cannot really place, as I don't really eat much candy anymore (boo adulthood). It also reminds me of strawberry scented shampoo, even though it's not really soapy. It's bright, tart, realistic strawberry with a clean edge to it. And some sort of sour, powdery candy, kind of like pixie stix powder... but not quite. As it dries down, this smells a lot like my most favorite bpal EVER - White Chocolate & Strawberry. Realistic, tart strawberry and creamy sweetness. This just has something like pixie stix powder sprinkled over it as well. Another love for me from this year's Lilith blends Real strawberries, whipped cream and hints of powdery, sour candy. I want backup bottles of so many of these...

This smells like heaven. I don't know how to describe cardamom, other than to say it smells like cardamom. Wonderful spiciness. Baked into a moist yellow cupcake and dotted through the best vanilla buttercream frosting ever. Some of bpal's gourmand scents smell dry to me, but this is moist, sweet cake and tons of vanilla frosting. Uncomplicated and perfect. I want to hoard a million bottles of this.

I really love popcorn and buttery scents, so I went with a full bottle instead of a decant of this. It is even better than I was hoping it might be. The clove and blood in this smell like a spicy dragon's blood to me with a hint of sweet cherry (and I usually hate cherry, but it's just a tiny bit of extra sweetness here). It's a pretty even mix of sexy, dark, clove spiced dragon's blood and fluffy, airy, lightly salted popcorn with a hint of a creamy, buttery note. The butter is creamy and subtle, though, not smelling like I dropped movie theatre 'butter' on myself. I love this scent so much. It is Evil Popcorn and it is amazing. Airy, fluffy popcorn mixed with sexy, dark, clove-spiked dragon's blood incense. Dark, sexy, and wonderfully unusual.

Cool, smooth lavender with a touch of what I think is powdery, frosty white musk. The rain gives it a clean edge. A clean, cool, spa-like lavender scent. I don't smell the oudh or asphalt at all.

This is very sharp, strange and jumbled smelling to me. The apricot, peach and citrus come off very sour to my nose, with the red pepper adding a spicy, hot, sharp bite that I also don't enjoy. Light, sour, sharp fruit... like fruit that is hard, sour and not ripe yet.

I don't get any of the listed notes from my bottle of this it's a damp, strange, sour, green leaf scent, with no sweetness, resin or chocolate.
-
I thought that I would love this, with the coconut, vanilla and orris notes (three of my favorites), but it's all sharp, musky, perfumey white floral to my nose.

I expected this to have intense throw and staying power, but it's lighter and turns a bit baby powdery on me, which I don't get from the perfume oil at all. Mostly it smells the same, though, like a wonderful mashup of juicy, sweet strawberry and cherry with a grownup, sexy vanilla musk at its base. Just turns a bit baby powdery and fades rather quickly.

Olibanum, Blood, and Clove Atmosphere Spray
Little Bird replied to razzlecupcake's topic in Atmosphere
Dusty, powdery type resins with a sharp, astringent, medicinal type of clove and a cold, metallic edge from the blood note. I like my spices and resins to be sweeter than this one is. -
Yum. This smells like sweet, raspberry scented gummi candy to me, with a slight smoky undertone that I think is the myrrh. Mostly it is sweet berries, fun and candied.
-
I like the lab's melon blends, but my decant of this doesn't smell particularly melon-y. I get a watery peach with crisp tea on a bed of powdery sandalwood and musk. I was hoping it would be sweeter and have a more noticeable melon scent to it.

Candiru Cove Frisbee Tournament Atmosphere Spray
Little Bird replied to Lycanthrope's topic in Atmosphere
I wish that I got the lemony notes from this (was hoping for refreshing lemon and coconut), but it's still a very lovely room spray. It's warm and dry to me, with the furry, slightly powdery musk and spiciness from the clove and carnation. Then there's lots of sweet coconut cream and perfumey/sharp vanilla orchid. Warm, dry, musky, slightly spicy, and coconut cream. -
Clean, tart, green apple with a hint of soapiness on my skin. Has kind of an apple air freshener scent to me in the drydown. Light and not really boozy or sweet enough for me.
-
Dark, smoky vetiver and sweet, syrupy opoponax with an undertone of sharp, clean, citrus cologne.
-
I wish that I could pull the cumin note out of this, because the rest of the blend is wonderful. The cumin just adds an off, sweaty undertone to the whole thing, which I especially don't like when it's mixed with the patchouli. All of the other notes come together into a lovely, complex, masculine cologne, sweetened with vanilla, but the patch and cumin combo, along with some smoky vetiver, just ruin the drydown for me.
-
Metallic, herbal honey-sage with a drydown that's mostly soapy aquatic on my skin, with just a hint of that herbal honey.
-
This smells like the lab's snow/ice note on me, but soapier and not as sweet as usual. Definitely a clean laundry type of scent.
-
Lots of tart, sweet, herbal lemon verbena with a hint of dirty, dry, slightly powdery patchouli on my skin.
-
Sharp green grass with a slightly soapy, wet, spring floral scent. I prefer Bestiaire du Moyen Age and Egg Hunt Grass Stain for my green/grass perfumes.
-
Mulch-y, dead leaves and dirt scent with a slightly sour pine and green, damp moss and leaves type of undertone. The drydown has a dry, soft, warm woods scent on me, with hints of the dirt and pine. I don't dislike this, but I don't feel like I'd ever wear it either. It's more atmospheric to me. I'm not getting any fruit or berries.

The tea, mate and lime are a very sharp, sour, overwhelming, green citrus on my skin, with an undertone of smoky wood. Reminds me of citrus scented floor cleaner + a hint of smoky, ashy wood...

Smells the same as I remember the previous year's version smelling - pine, cinnamon and tart berry. Smells like a waxy holiday candle.
-
Smells similar to the prototype imp that I got, which I thought was waxy lilies, lemons and powdery vanilla. I wish I had the two to compare now. This is still a waxy, sweet, vanillic floral with sweet, lemony edges. Maybe a little more fresh and bright, and slightly less waxy and sweet than the proto?
