    The Season of Ghosts

I just got this and I am in love! I think it's the bergamot and frankincense that are coming out strongest on me, and I'm definitely not getting the citrus as much, nor anything sparkly/happy. My first impression was dark and bitter, though definitely with something comforting and gentle underneath.

    Neo-Tokyo

This is very bitter and cold and green--but bitter in a good way, if that makes any sense. I think I can pick out the bamboo and ozone. It doesn't smell especially oriental or remind me of Japan, but it's a fresh and pretty scent, light and herby, with a little cherry blossom sweetness as it starts to dry. I'm very fond of this, but unfortunately, it disappears to nothing on me in an hour or so. I will try this as a room scent, though, because I'd love my apartment to smell like this.

    Wolf's Heart

I'm not sure if it's that I can't smell the jasmine or just can't put the name "jasmine" to what I'm smelling. What I think I'm smelling is clove and juniper--a darkish herb scent that I really like. Smells like what you would imagine an apothecary's shop in the middle of the woods to smell like. And it lasts quite a long time. Very peaceful and comforting, but bold, too.
  4. Thanks very much! I will definitely be getting a good variety to see if there are specific categories that are more bothersome than others.
  5. I have scent sensitivity that ranges from mild to less mild; cigarette smoke makes me nauseous, I can't stand to have incense burning, and at one time I couldn't even bear to walk into a Bath & Body Works. I think that sensitivity has decreased somewhat with time. (I can now walk into Starbucks and Bath & Body Works, for example). Sometimes these things just smell unpleasant; occasionally they trigger migraines. I have a lot of trouble with fragrance counters at department stores. But I really, really want to try some BPAL oils. Just a drop or two should be okay, right? And I can always use them, very diluted, in lotion or as home fragrances. I'd like, if you would be so kind, a little reassurance or dissuasion, so I can make up my mind, and suggestions for a couple of very light oils that should be safe. I'm thinking Kumiho, for a start, and maybe Shanghai... I'll probably end up getting a pack of imps with a few mild fragrances and a few bolder ones. Thanks in advance!
