    Libertine

In bottle: a little spicy and a lot clean, there's something a little like burnt sugar Wet: a very floral scent. It's hard to characterize it--not too sweet, not too clean, not too spicy...a nice balance of florals. Dry: once again, a well-balanced floral. The primrose comes through on the dry-down, but it's not too strong. I think this is a lovely blend, but just not my style.

    Baghdad

This one totally threw me for a loop. It smelled just like a freshly baked spice cake, still warm and moist from the oven. I like the touch of saffron, it kept it from smelling too sweet. It is a very warm and comforting blend for the cold weather months. It dried down very nicely, making it a very distinctive smell that you have to get close to smell and then it explodes in your nose (in a good way!). :runs off to the kitchen to bake!:

    Samhain

Samhain was a very heavy, dark blend. The pine forest scent came straight out of the bottle and wreaked havoc on my skin. I never got any of the other notes from it, either in the bottle or when dry. No morphing whatsoever. It seems that all of the Halloween scents I've tried so far hate me. Does anyone want to swap skin with me? Just make sure it's still compatible with Snake Oil!

    Sugar Skull

After hearing all the hubub about SS, I was eager to try... In the bottle, it smells like sugared and honeyed rum. It made me think of candied fruits and hot toddies and enjoying a drink (or seven!) in front of the fire with my best friends after dessert. On my skin, it invoked images of a distillery that had been battle-ravaged by a sugar cane crop. A little too much for me. Sadness. It lasted for HOURS after my shower.

    The Haunted Palace

I was soooo looking forward to this...in the bottle, it smells sweet and a little juicy. It is very much a girly floral to my nose. On my skin, it smelled liked candied orange slices and a bit bubble-gummy. It smells delicious, like my kitchen after baking gooey, fruity sweets. I like to smell it, but not smell like it. It goes powdery on me on the dry-down and the Hubba Bubba note wouldn't go away.

    Alice

In bottle: This actually smells like I thought Alice herself would smell--the warm scent of freshly-washed innocence, with just a touch of sweetness. The sweetness is more of a "skin scent" smell, rather than foody or floral. Wet: somewhat lemony, oddly, but the honey comes out as a very smooth and warm note. Dry: woooo...love's baby soft or whatever that stuff that all my friends wore in middle school was called. The honey and carnation (which emerged with vehemence) was too much.

    Aureus

In bottle: This is a very light scent, with just a touch of woody-earthiness to it to balance out the slight sweetness. Wet: It immediately smells soapy. Woodsy too--like cedar, but not overwhelmingly so. A bitter note emerges on my skin. Dry: Moldy wood. I don't know how else to describe it. And now that's all I can smell in the bottle.

    Carnal

In bottle: I can smell the notes individually and the contrast between the fig and mandarin is a bit jarring, but in an interesting way. Wet: This is one of the most interesting blends I've come across. The fig and mandarin work with and against each other. The mandarin smells fruitier on me than usual, perhaps due to the earthiness of fig. It reminds me March, when winter is fighting spring (at least where I'm from!) Dry: it smells candyish on me (but not overbearing) and would be a good winter scent. It's very comforting, but maybe a bit too foody for my nose.

    Gomorrah

In bottle: Very, very herbal. I can smell something a little sweet and fruity, but mostly the herbs. Definitely a nighttime scent. Wet: a light herbal. Something smells kind of minty on me...very curious. Dry: for the most part, I like this scent, but I can't shake the mint note. This is definitely one to try in the oil burner.

    Nuit

In bottle: I've smelled something like this before...a light floral; sweet and fresh smelling. Wet: a very light floral. Sweet, but not too sweet. Something like a toned-down version of Queen Gertrude. Dry: a lovely white floral. It reminds me of Eternal, as well. I really like the white florals, but not enough to buy the big bottles. They smell better in the bottle than they do on my skin.

    Persephone

I agree with everyone else about the juicy floral scent. The rose is very clear and vibrant. Sadly, like most roses, this went powdery on me, with a lingering super-sweet candy scent to go with it.

    Golden Priapus

This one was just too similar to a pine forest for me. I didn't get any vanilla at all, or any other notes, for that matter.. While I love the woods, I don't really like smelling like them.

    Verdandi

In bottle: red delicious apples and dark green moss...it's both comforting and exotic at the same time. Wet: a very light apple scent and damp, dark green leaves. The apple isn't sweet like most apple scented things...more like the skin of a ripe apple. The "green" component smells like a light juniper scent, a bit clean, a bit powdery, but not overbearing. I rather like this blend. Dry: this is very much like a darker version of Eve. When I use all of that up, I'm probably going to spring for a bottle of this!

    Intrigue

In bottle: familiar and pungent--fig is the strongest note. Wet: this blend smells very fruity and dark. It's very sweet but smooth Dry: still very sweet and fruity, almost like strawberries. Maybe a little too sweet for me.

    Lust

In bottle: very sweet and incense-y Wet: not as sweet, but still mostly incense. The combo of patchouli, musk and myrrh often combine into one note for me. Dry: the patchouli overtakes everything else. I really wish patchouli and I got along better. It always smells kinda smoky and musky--too pungent and dark for my taste.

    Dragon's Heart

In bottle: dragon's blood...and blood? It smells pungent with a bit of a metallic tang Wet: on me, it smells mostly like dragon's blood. I can't really pick out any other notes. Kind of sweet and citrusy without being sharp. Something about db smells a little like lotus on my skin. Dry: the metallic note is back. It's not unpleasant at all--it tones down the sweetness of the db. I never got any of the fruits, but a nice blend overall.

    Elegba

In bottle: sweet syrupy rum with a hint of tobacco; smoky and candyish Wet: this smells like delicious rum cake, dripping with syrup and just a bit of liquor. It fades pretty fast initially. Dry: this scent fades so fast. Still very much like rum cake, but so light that you have to get on top of it to smell it.

    Sacred Whore of Babylon

In bottle: very sweet and somewhat soapy. I think I smell lotus, and maybe some type of lily? Definitely floral. And did I mention sweet? Wet: a very sharp, sweet scent, like a huge bouquet of early spring flowers. Dry: it's sweet and soft, it reminds of my parents' garden in May. There's some kind of warm buttery note underneath.
  19. gangstaknitta

    The Ghost

In bottle: kind of a dark floral, but light at the same time. The lily is already smelling like soap. Wet: sweet soap, like my shampoo, actually Dry: a very clean, but soapy scent. there is a hint of something very sweet at the end.

    Nosferatu

In bottle: clean, cloying, sweet, all at the same time. Incense-y? It's very complex. Wet: it smells a little like dandelions?, very herby. a murky mossy scent. I lost the insence note. Dry: it ends us very antiseptic-y

    Delphi

In bottle: Overwhelmingly bay; a little bit of wine and even less honey. Overall, a very comfortable scent. Wet: very very honey, with a bit of wine immediately; it soon fades and the bay comes out as the strongest note. Dry: a sweet honey and dark herb scent. It's a little powdery. Make that a lot powdery. I really like the honey, but not so much the "powder."

    Shub-Niggurath

In bottle: very, very ginger with an earthy undertone. The ginger is not sharp like fresh ginger, but like a mellow, lightly spiced ginger. Wet: this smells like candied crystallized ginger. I also think I detect some sugared lemon. It's a very interesting foody-but-clean scent. Dry: that lemon note came out screaming and now it smells like sugared...Pledge. I had such high hopes.
  23. gangstaknitta

    Eternal

In bottle: sweet and grassy Wet: this smells a lot like Queen Gertrude on me--a soft slightly sweet floral with a grassy/clover-y note in it Dry: the white rose and gardenia come out on my skin. The grassy note goes away...a little too much floral for me. The rose goes a little powdery, but the gardenia masks any "old lady" scent that might be happening as a result.

    Seraglio

In bottle: a soft spicy floral Wet: spicy rose with a big bite of clove. I think the sandalwood is keeping the rose from going powdery Dry: the orange tames the rose and clove a bit I'm going to continue testing, but I think this is a winner. Even my husband likes it, the picky boy.

    Umbra

I couldn't even try this one. The overwhelming combo of black patchouli and cinnamon in the bottle was enough. Very woodsy, smoky and pungent with a spicy bite that lingers in your nose.
