  1. Well, I'm not getting the usual soapy vibe I usually associate with aquatic-type scents. This is softly aquatic, with a hint of powder. Sweet, and light. A hint of flowers and chypre. The orris doesn't go dusty as it can sometimes do on my skin. I like this, but it's not very me.

  2. This is dark and sweet on me but there seems to be a little bit of astringency underneath. I think it might be the bay leaves. This comes across as very masculine on my skin, and it's a little more herbal then Hellhound. Musk-heavy too. Into the drydown there is a fairly heavy smokiness that comes out.

  3. This is wonderful.

The lavender is initially quite strong, as is the amber incense. But as it dries it blends and smoothes out magnificently. The rose comes out just a little bit, and surprisingly enough, I don't amp it or turn it to cat pee like I usually do. I'm left with a dark, slightly musky floral that has an indescribable hint of sweetness. It's really unlike anything I've sniffed before.

  4. 2010 Version:

Honestly, this was a little sharp when I first applied it. It went a little cologney on my skin. It had a bit of an aquatic feel at first, but as it dried, the scent blended and smoothed out a little bit. This was very, very dry on my skin. It smells exactly like leaves and dirt and crisp autumn air (without being ozoney).

  5. Well, this is exactly red musk and honey. It does smell similar to SOBO on my skin once I read that description above. Warm, and dead sexy. I quite like this, but I don't know if it's different enough to warrant a bottle. I'll definitely use the decant.

  6. This starts out a little crisp and dark. It sweetens at it dries, and actually becomes a lovely autumn scent. I actually really like this. On the surface its tobacco and dried leaves, and the patchouli and black musk drift through. I quite like this.

  7. I too get mostly soapy florals, which is unfortunate. I can distinctly smell the cloth and sandalwood underneath, but this doesn't soften on my skin. It stays fairly predominantly floral and soapy. It's a little too sharp in feel for me.

  8. Yes, I'm getting lots of vetiver here, with woods and patchouli and smoke. This is actually sweetening considerably on my skin as it dries, and it is getting a little hazier in feel. This started out pretty aggressive, but it smoothes out as it dries, so it's definitely worth keeping on to see how it morphs. I like this. It's tending towards the masculine for me, but it's still wearable.

  9. Alright, I had really high hopes for this one, and it didn't work the way I wanted it to. I think it may be skin chemistry related, but something in here went weirdly maple-sugary on my skin. My skin tends to do this with anything remotely foody, so that may be my issue here. I can still smell dark chocolate and vanilla, with just a hint of booze and the spice from the peppers underneath.

  10. This one stays pretty carnation heavy once it dries. In the wet stages there was something a little sharp and masculine, but during the drydown it became pretty carnation-centric. I can detect the yew lazing in the background, but I really have to sniff to get the patchouli. It wears similar to Hod on my skin, but with a hint of smokyness.

  11. This is primarily pomegranate, amber and carnation on me. There is a hint of neroli, but virutally no opium tar or vetiver. I was hoping this would be a little darker or smokier on my skin, but it seems to have stayed rather light, and just a little sugary (which is translating to girly on my skin). I like thin, but I'm happy with the half decant I have. I don't see myself wearing this very often.

  12. Ok, this reminded me of something and I can't tell what now. This is creamy beeswax and oud and heliotrope and yellow rose on me. Light, and yellow. Sweet creamy floral. The ginger is really light here, offering just a hint of spice. The musk is quite light as well. Nice, but a little too "pretty" for me.

  13. Ok, so this is really cold on my skin. That may be the best way I can sum up this scent. It's chilly. The rose and jasmine are surprisingly well behaved here, I can pick them out but they're not amping. This is predominantly white musk on my skin, with the florals underneath. It does go soapy on my skin, but I can see how this would be absolutely stunning on the right person. The amber here is just gorgeous.

  14. Red musk and florals. This is a little more flowery than I usually like, both the jasmine and the wisteria sharpen the red musk significantly. It's got a smoky quality to it, and it's very heady. Much later in the drydown it goes a little powdery on my skin.

  15. Peach and florals and something hazy-like. This is vaguely reminiscent of Unveiled but there's a depth to this blend that Unveiled lacks. The jasmine isn't smacking me over the head, which is a nice change. Nice, but I don't need to seek out a bottle.
