    The Organ Grinder (2006)

The Organ Grinder is delicious. On me the almond milk is very strong, with a hint of the sarsaparilla and tobacco smoke, creamy and lush. I would love to put this on a guy and see if the other notes come out.

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

Disclaimer: I hate clowns, they freak me out. But I ordered Xanthe anyway, although the label gives me the creeps. In the bottle Xanthe is very fruity, I can detect the orange, apple and guava with a hint of the pepper. It smells wonderful like a tropical fruit cocktail. I do get a whiff of the bubblegum flavor too. It is very similar wet, but the pepper is more pronounced. It dries down to a warm fruity scent, I think the spun sugar really starts to come into play on the dry down as does the apple blossom. Xanthe is delicious! But does fade out about half way though the day. A great summer scent or for when you wish it was summer!

    Gennivre, L’Artiste du Diable

In the bottle Gennivre smells strongly of mint and lemongrass. Once on the skin the lemongrass comes out to play and over powers everything else, but fades rather quickly, leaving behind a sweet, slightly floral tea scent. It doesn't have much throw on me but that might be because I applied lightly to test. Really lovely.

    Carnaval Diabolique

In the bottle pure lemon candies. Wet the lemon is very strong and overpowers the other notes, there is a hint of coconut and sweetness. The strong lemon faded pretty quickly, around 15-20 minutes. It dries down to a musky, sweet and smokey light floral, but not too strong with the flowers. It becomes a lovely subtle perfume. I like this one a lot.

    Hetairae

This starts out as spicy fig on me and then dries down to the spicier cousin of "O" as the honey note comes out. It's one of Beth's honey skin scents that I love so much. I am debating a big bottle of this one.

    The Caterpillar

Wet I get a hint of the florals but they fade fast on my skin. It drys down to a lovely earthy incensy scent and reminds me of something spicy and oriental, which is appropriate I think for a scent based on this character, the caterpillar sitting on a mushroom smoking a hooka pipe. It is a touch masculine and I would love to try this one out on a man.

    Envy

Yum mint! Sweet minty mint, wait - mint where are you going? It's gone. So minty and so fleeting.

    Pele

Sweet soft florals with a hint of plumaria, I feel like I am wearing a lei. I don't get any ginger from Pele. It does fade fast, I'm not a huge fan of florals, but if Pele had more plumaria and stuck around longer I would love it. As it is I will enjoy the imp and break it out whenever I need an instant scent trip back to Hawaii.

    The Red Queen

Wet this smells like cherry cough drops, the scent of which almost immediatly fades to a very woody smell. It's almost a cedar smell on me with a very faint fruit scent in the background. Nice but not exactly my thing.

    Shill

Shill - this will be my new going to the movies scent. Fresh it does smell exactly like hot buttered popcorn, as it dries the popcorn scent fades somewhat and it becomes sweet and buttery. Occasionally I catch a hint of something floral. After several hours it has faded a lot and just smells buttery. Shill is a bit of a morpher and I like it!

    Tenochtitlan

Wow - spicy prickly pear goodness! This is light and perfect for summer. It makes me want to have a prickly pear margarita!

    Loviatar

Loviatar is dark and mysterious and not for the faint of heart. Wet I smell the leather undercut with something sweet. As it drys down the myrrh becomes stronger, the sweetness fades. If you like leather then definitely give Loviatar a try. Overall I find Loviatar to be too masculine for me.

    Namaste

Wet the lemongrass is almost overpowering. As it drys down the lemongrass fades and the sandalwood and cedarwood take over. After awhile it becomes pure sandalwood on me.

    Miskatonic University

Miskatonic University is Bailey's Irish cream with a slash of coffee. Sweet and delicious!

    Kingsport

I hate to be the lone dissenter here but to me Kingsport smells nothing like the ocean. I grew up two blocks from the beach in Florida so I have a very strong association with the smell of the ocean. To me Kingsport smells like many of the other scents out there that claim to be the scent of an ocean breeze but in actuality smell nothing like the ocean. In fact I'm not sure it's a scent you could actually bottle, there is something in that salty damp air that is too ethereal to be caught in a bottle. That said Kingsport is beautiful fragrance, I pick up ozone and florals, but its not for me, it's actually giving me a bit of a headache.

    Tulzscha

Received an imp courtesy of the lovely LunaSea: In the bottle Tulzscha is very strong pure mint, no sweetness at all, sharp and eye-opening. As its drys the cucumber comes out and it reminds me strongly of the cucumber mojito's served at Zengo (a local Denver joint). Overall Tulzcha is refreshing (nice for our hot weather recently) but I think I would rather have a bath gel or a body spray (kept in the fridge) with this scent then using it as a pure fragrance.

    Pink Moon 2005

Yep it smells pink. Sweet, sugary and floral. I do not get strawberries or any other kind of fruit from this, just sweet florals (don't ask me which kinds, I'm terrible at picking out floral notes ) coated in sugar. Overall Pink Moon is warm and sunny, a stroll through a flower garden in spring with a glass of champagne and cute boy.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo does smell like bubblegum, it is bright and cheerful. I reached for my imp this morning because I went to bed last night upset and woke up even more upset about my BF's reaction to our one-year anniversary (long story for another thread). I didn't want to be in the dumps all day so I decided to try the Joy Mojo out and I have to say by mid-morning I was definitely feeling better and much more optimistic about things. Not sure if it is just the power of suggestion but I'm giving the Joy Mojo a thumbs up for doing what Beth advertised.

    Omen

The juniper berry jumped out at me right away followed by the myyrh. Omen seems very masculine, incense with a touch of alchoholic sweetness. I think this would be very sexy on a man or a room fragrance for your boudoir!

    Medea

Medea is sweet, dark and floral. The currant adds a sweetness to the orchid and there is an incense/woody scent that brings a sophistication to the blend. Overall I think this is lovely, I can imagine wearing it with a ball gown on my way to the theater. Medea just screams rich, sophisticated with impeccable taste.

    Ra

Straight from the bottle Ra has sharp, green herbal smell. Once it hits my skin it becomes a spicy orange citrus scent. As it drys down the citrus fades and what I believe is frankincense and perhaps amber become stronger, I also get a bit of nutmeg. Overall I really like this, it is a warm, spicy scent - something to wear on a cold overcast day to remember the sun by.

    King of Clubs

Wow this is so well blended it is almost impossible for me to pick out any individual notes. Musky, earthy and a touch of sweetness. I just want to slather this all over the BF and then jump him. The king is a very sensual masculine scent. Dude review: I tried this out on my BF last night, he reaction was that the King was his favorite scent by far and that's about all I got out of him other then him appropriating the bottle! However my nose picked up that his skin amped up the woodsy feel of this while on me it is sweeter.

    Darkness

Darkness is deep and mysterious. It has a sweetness to it that is almost alcoholic in nature (the opium I'm guessing) that is cut by the myrrh. I occassionaly get a wiff of the narcissus but on me it stays in the background. This is a scent I did not expect to like, but oddly enough I do, I also think it would smell divine on a guy. Darkness to me is not a summer scent, it is something I would wear durning a dark, howling blizzard while curled up on my sofa with candles lit, a glass of red wine and gothic novel.

    Milk Moon 2005

Wet: Sweet cream and a touch of mint. It reminds me of Breyers mint chocolate chip ice cream (um -but without the chocolate pieces). Dry: The mint fades some what and it is becomes cream over lunar oils. Yummy!

    Florence

I am really not sure what Iris smells like and I don't get much of a floral feel from this. On me it is spicy berries and amber. I this blend. I can close my eyes and sniff and suddenly I'm in Florence eating a gellato while browsing the leather and paper shops, enjoying a glass of chianti in a piazza, hearing shouts of "ciao bella" from cute Italian street vendors, wandering into an incense filled church or through the gardens of Pitti Palace. Florence dries down to a wonderful slighly spicy, amber skin scent. It is sexy and foreign and makes me want to do bad things with a dashing Italian man (but don't tell the BF I said that! ) Another big bottle to add to the must have list.
