    Wolfsbane

Oooh, this is bitter and herbal. It leapt up my nostrils and clawed its way into my sinuses, where it's rolling around, claws and fangs gnashing and tearing. It leaves me in a watery-eyed haze. Now all I smell is vetiver. Ugh.

    Egg Nog

I was a touch worried about this as Spooky had similar components and went all wonky on me. Egg Nog definitely started out creamier on me, which also made me panic because Milk Moon didn't like me much either. The rum kept it from getting too weird for a while, but then it just kind of turned bitter and rubbery.

    Dead Man's Hand

When I opened the bottle, the smell of leather and rawhide lept up my nose and made my eyes water, clinging to the back of my throat. I wasn't sure I really liked it much on, either, as it smelled very much like what I imagined a cowboy would smell like. I kind of forgot about it and spent my afternoon buried in a book when I realized that the blend had morphed into the intoxicating smell of old, dusty leather bound books. I don't know if I'm going to keep it to endure the five to six hours of drydown that I don't really like just to get to the couple of hours of book smell. But I think I might give it another try just to be sure.

    Glitter

I definitely get the bubble gum that everyone else is referring to. I wish it smelled as "sparkly" on as it does in the vial, however, this is a very pretty blend. I bought this for the d'Anjou pear, and it doesn't disappoint. I also recently realized that I am a fan of lotus with my skin chemistry. So all in all, I am very happy that I got a chance to try this one. It is sweet without being overly cloying, and the perfect combination of fruity and floral. A nice light summer scent.

    Nanshe

I put some on my temples, my chest, and my hands before I went to bed last night. My husband asked me what "stinks". It was definitely kind of foody, in the way other people have mentioned. As for the dream applications, it didn't really work for me. I can't really remember my dreams from last night at all, and I woke up with a very heavy head and a headache. Oh well.

    Snake Oil

This is sexy, sexy, sexy. I really love the spiciness of the blend, and the vanilla just grounds it and makes it nice and creamy. It has a pretty decent throw, and seems to last for several hours. I can see why this was the #1 oil for so long.

    O

Honey, dripping from the comb. After a while, the vanilla shyly peeks out, but the sexiness of the honey is dominant. Deeee-licious!

    Queen of Clubs

Upon first application, this has the bitter tinge that Graveyard Dirt does. As it dries, the dark wet earth note slides gently into the background and lets the rose, red currant and vanilla take a little more of the forefront. It's still somewhat bitter, but the earthiness really grounds me and is soothing. Very regal, very beautiful. I love it!

    King of Clubs

I had anticipated this would be a blend that I would try once and hate because of the leather and vetiver, and end up swapping. But, as luck would have it, I really really like it. The earthiness of it is very calming. On my skin, it smells like earth and lavender, though checking the list of notes in the blend, I see there is no lavender. So I'm not sure what that is. It's so well done that I can't really identify individual notes, they all blend together beautifully. It's a smoky, rich earth blend with a moderate throw and good staying power. Very lovely!

    Tiphareth

There is the slightest, slightest hint of rose in this otherwise very woodsy, resiny, earthy scent. This is complex and rich and very beautiful.

    Bewitched

In the bottle and on my skin initially, this smells almost entirely herbal from the sage and green tea. Little by little, the musk peeks out, deepening and darkening the blend, until about an hour or so later the berries finally make an appearance. They don't smell particularly "real," more like a berry scented makeup product (reminded me very strongly of a particular lip gloss I used as a teen), but it's such a pleasant nostalgic smell that it doesn't turn me off at all. Very nice blend!

    Ace of Hearts

This is a very regal, sophisticated floral. It is a creamy white scent. I really love the way that all of the flowers blend together... I really can't distinguish one more strongly than the other, but I can tell that they're all there. Very sophisticated. Very beautiful.

    Ultraviolet

This is sharp and interesting. Nose-to-wrist, I can smell the violets and mint, but for the most part the throw is eucalyptus. It is definitely a "cold" scent, a bright purple green. Unique and interesting.

    Velvet

There is very little cocoa apparent when I wear this blend, but the warmth of the sandalwood is pleasing enough. I never really got to smell the myrrh either. This lasted a very long time on my skin, and had a substantial throw.

    Vicomte de Valmont

This is very, very masculine... not in that fun androgynous way. I couldn't really identify any of the individual notes, but I had bought it for the rose geranium. Unfortunately it didn't really pop out on me with my skin chemisty.

    Vice

    Rancid "cherry" medicine.

Chaos Theory II : The Butterfly Effect

Chaos Theory LXXXIII: In the bottle, there is a creaminess like tonka and/or vanilla, but also a sharpness very similar to cherry medicine that reminds me somewhat of Kabuki. On my skin, though, this turns into cream and spices and a subtle nuttiness. It reminds me very much of Shub-Niggurath and Silk Road... perhaps what would happen if you mixed them together. Gorgeous!!! Chaos Theory CCLXXXVIII:In the bottle, this is sharp and green. Very herbal but also floral. I wish like hell I knew how to better identify notes in these blends. On my skin, it is somewhat medicinal, but still very green... almost a juniper or eucalyptus or a similarly biting green scent. There is a soft floral in the background that I hope comes out a little more as this dries and ripens so I can identify it. It's sweet and bubble-gummy, so perhaps lotus? Yes, the more I smell it the more I think it is lotus. This one is very complex, but quite stunning. I am pretty pleased with both of my "experiments."

    Viola

This is a creamy, yet somehow powdery floral. Unfortunately it faded very fast on me. I don't smell much of the woodsy notes at all, which is a little disappointing. I don't think that myrrh ever comes out on my skin at all. But the Somalian Rose as the most prominant note is light and soft and powdery. There is just the slighest, tiniest hint of the mandarin in the background, which is what is giving the blend the creaminess that I detect because, for some reason, oranges always turn creamy on me. It's very pretty, but with little throw or staying power.

    Wicked

I usually avoid jasmine blends because that is the only note I ever smell, but this was a lagniappe imp from the Lab so I thought I would give it a try. After all, they do tend to know me better than I know myself. This is definitely a regal, sophisticated scent. I can imagine Maleficent sweeping grandly across her castle, plotting harm to Sleeping Beauty and looking damn good doing it. The rose blends *perfectly* with the jasmine. I'm not getting much of the myrrh, but I'm enjoying the rose so much that I don't really mind. This is really lovely and soft, but with a dark edge to it.

    Wrath

My skin loves dragon's blood resin. So much so that it's usually the only note I can smell in a blend, with the exceptions of Dragon's Bone, Dragon's Milk, and Dragon's Tears. I was really hoping this one would be an exception, as I love cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper (I wanted this to be a mix of Dragon's Blood and Three Witches). But for the most part, the dragon's blood resin has beaten every note into submission. I can detect a little of the cinnamon if I put my wrist to my nose, but the throw - which is fairly strong - is all dragon's blood. Oh well, at least I like dragon's blood.

    Xiuhtecuhtli

This is creamy and exotic. The plumeria and sweet orange are the most dominant, but I keep feeling like I smell vanilla even though it isn't listed as one of the notes. There is something kind of.... elderly (?) about this blend though. It is lovely, just reminds me of a grandma.

    Silk Road

This is very warm, nutty and spicy, and it has quite a bit of throw. I'm sitting in a circle of incense and loving it. It reminds me of this wonderful, quirky little shop in downtown Ann Arbor, MI with incense and fabrics and antiques. It's a really wonderful rich scent. Two thumbs up.

    Milk Moon 2005

In the bottle, this smelled buttery and creamy, with just a touch of vanilla and mint. When I put it on, the throw is mostly butter, and quite strong at that. When I get close to my wrist where it was applied, I smell the mint more. This reminds me of Spooky, in that it was all butter and mint before it (Spooky) turned into tanning lotion on me. So I'm a bit hesitant to give a thumbs up on Milk Moon. The jury's still out on this one.

how long are LE scents available??

Lunacy oils are the oils that Beth releases on the full moon. Today, Buck Moon is available in the Limited Edition section of the store. If you'd like it, order it today because it won't be available tomorrow. They are limited editions because every full moon is different, based on the almanac and Beth's other sources, and she custom blends each lunacy oil accordingly. They are only available for the length of the full moon. ETA: Here is a thread on lunacy oil FAQ
