    Schrodinger's Cat

I really like this. I have no idea if it will last on my skin, but, I like this. A bright cheerful fruity scent. It has morphed a few times since putting it on, and I suppose that was the different citrus fruits saying goodbye, but, it's still around. Still zippy and sweet.

    Anything that smells like silage?

When I tested John Barleycorn at Will Call, I didn't smell any of the blood. It was a moister smell than Hay moon, with more fermentation implied in the scent, but, there's no corn there. It's definitely a possible, though, and I think there may be decant circles still available for the scent, if you want to try a small bit rather than a bottle. Gunpowder is another possible, but, I didn't get a chance to test that one, and, I don't know how much apple there is in it. You might keep a lookout for the chaos theories on the swaps pages. I know of a few that were reviewed as smelling like either sweet popcorn, or creamed corn. For General Catalog, maybe Dana O'Shee? I haven't tried it yet, but, it has milk, honey and sweet grains.
  3. To me, Green Treen Viper smelled a bit like Dorian only greener. It was a more refreshing take on Snake Oil. You might try Dorian, or layering Snake Oil with Dorian and something minty. I don't do mint so often, so someone else might have ideas?

    Brown Jenkin

Wet, it starts off all sandalwood. Dry, it's more resiny than I expected. I can also smell all of the notes listed, if I am getting to recognise Orris. I like this one.

    Lune Noire

Night flowers. It smells like an overgrown garden full of things that don't open up till after it's dark. So far, it's really nice...for a floral. Except that the floral portion never does last on me. What it is becoming is a tonka/oakmoss/musk scent, with the musk going sweet like it does sometimes on my skin. Is blue musk related to purple musk? Penumbra went way sweet on me. The flowers are merely a memory adding sweetness to the already sweet musk. The rest of what is left on my skin is tonka and oakmoss. The final scent is too faint for me. Ah, well. It will make someone else happy.

    Schwarzer Mond

In the bottle, whoa Nelly, that's dark musk and patchouli, and all else in a surprisingly smooth darkness. On me, wet it is surprisingly similar to in the bottle. Nothing is amping or changing yet. Drying, the myrrh is warming up and....*swoons* Oh, that is fabulous! All I need now is for the musk to NOT go all candy on me and I'm set. I actually suspect that the patchouli(which is exceedingly dark, and surprisingly smooth) will help keep the musk from going over the edge. It needs to stay as it is right now.

    La Primavera Bath Oil

Spring flowers and greenery. The tuberrose was the most apparent, but the mint and dandelion were also there. As it is the bath oil and not a perfume oil, the rose didn't amp on me like it usually does; If I rinse, I get the good scents, with none of the ampage. I discovered this with the L'Autunno oil and the sage in that. My husband likes this one, which is saying a great deal since he usually does not comment on my scents at all. I'm more neutral, but, mostly that's because its a floral. I have a hard time getting very enthused about most florals. Still, as he likes it, I'll keep it and use it.

The Fox-Woman Kuzunoha Leaving Her Child

Floral, with a green note...is that the tea or one of the flowers producing that? Nice enough, but, it is a floral. Most florals don't really excite me.

Itasô Kansei Nenkan Jorô No Fûzoku

*looks at notes* Well, either osmanthus or hibiscus really doesn't do anything for me. I haven't encountered either before, so I am not certain which it is, but, I think it is amping on my skin. Oh, and the sugar cane amped, as well. I'm begining to notice a pattern of sugar cane taking over scents on my skin. Not good. There isn't enough ti leaf or honey to keep me interested. It's definitely not like any other BPAL scent I have tried so far, but half the notes are unfamiliar as well.

    Three Gorgons

Wet, it is all citrus and pepper. The tangerines and mandarin lose their punch fairly fast, though. I think it's the vetiver and tobacco coming forward now. The amber is warming up on my skin and blending it all together... The citrus is still present as a background sweetness, and the scent is becoming a lovely deep spicy scent, unlike anything else I have smelled so far. Yum!

    Kiyohime Changes From a Serpent

Wet, it seems fruity and salty. For an aquatic, not bad so far. It started off as a fairly complex aquatic, but, it is losing notes quickly. It's down to being a breath of sea air on me.

    Two Monsters

It is a nice musky leathery spicy scent. Not too rough on my nose, but definitely spicy enough to hold my interest. I kind of expect it to vanish, though, since just about everything I have tried with ambergris in it has pulled the vanishing trick. and, there it goes. Not even ten minutes in. It isn't completely gone yet, but, it went from a moderate throw, all the way down to having to sniff my arm closely to tell anything was there. I'm getting really annoyed with ambergris. Something has amped back up. Something sweet like sugar cane...but that isn't listed as a note? Whatever it is, I amp it enough to get past the black hole of ambergris.

    Three Brides

With nine other notes in it, hopefully the rose will behave. Rose with a background of florals. I can tell the tonka, carnation and calla lily are there, at least. The rose isn't screaming, which is good. I can tell the other notes are there, which is better. There is hope. It may not be my favorite salon. I may not get a bottle. However, it is still nice enough to use, and for a rose scent on me, that's not easy to find.

    Monna Vanna

Russian rose, mimosa, gardenia, bois du rose, parma violet, calla lily, red currant, ambergris, and bourbon vanilla. I was interested to see what this scent would do on me, because of three notes. Rose, usually amps up to ROSE! on my skin. Ambergris usually kills the entire scent of everything on my skin. Vanilla usually really likes my skin and hangs around a looong time... In the imp, a very expensive smelling floral scent. On me? Rose. Well behaved rose, but, only rose. Apparently, the amping potential of the rose is balanced by the vanishing potential of the ambergris. Unfortunately, nothing else survives. And, when the rose fades, there's nothing left. ah well. Ambergris has vanquished all.

    The Great He-Goat

Sharp at first. Very earthy. All vetiver and patchouli, and the musk is not sweetening like it sometimes does. There seems to be something smoky or burned, but it isn't recognisable as ginger. No hint of pomegranite or carnation yet, but, I can hope.

    Philosopher in Meditation

Wine, and incense. Smokey incense...and yes, the smoldering remains of a fireplace fire where the person actually chose the wood, rather than the ashes of a bonfire where people burned anything to hand. Yum.

    Bat

In the imp, it almost smelled alcoholic. On, it is sweet intoxicating flowers. A garden with enough honeysuckle and stock in it could sweep me off my feet, even though I don't usually do floral perfumes much. The musk is getting very sweet on me, even more than the flowers. Every once in a while I encounter a musk that turns a scent straight into sugary candy, and this one is heading towards that cliff, unfortunately.

    Silence

White sandalwood, iris, blue musk, lotus root, moonflower, plum blossom, green tea, white mint and white peach. I'm...failing at picking out the notes. But, it does feel blue..and cool and quiet. I'm calling it, "interesting," and putting it into a pile for further testing.

    Death of the Grave Digger

I haven't tried many snow or dirt scents yet. This one was minty evergreen trees, and cold smelling to start. It still smells cold, and there's a minty scent with a slight evergreen tang, and I do smell dirt. It's interesting...and fairly strong on me as well. I really don't know...I haven't been a fan of the evergreen scents yet, but, the dirt is interesting..and myrrh! Did I say this was strong? This is STRONG! On my skin, at least, this is strong and a little overwhelming, right now. Definitely stronger than any scent I have tried for days... ~edit~ My husband actually backed away from me while I was wearing this, it was that strong on me. SWAP!

    Bat-Woman

Wet on me, very floral. I think I can pick out the jasmine and honeysuckle, but, that may be because I know they are there. The flowers are blending together really well. I don't usually wear that many florals, but, if my skin doesn't swallow this one completely inside of an hour, I may give it a few tries and see how it goes.

    Carceri d'Invenzione

Resin, wood, and pepper. It started off fairly spicy, and I looked for cinnamon on the list because that's what I thought I was smelling at first. It sweetens up and the peppery spicyness steps back in a few minutes. I'm not finding the tobacco yet, but, I am liking the scent very much. As soon as my budget recovers from the last splurge, I may get a bottle of this one.

    Mad Meg

I can barely smell the cinnamon, on me, and I think the earthy smell is the vetiver? I'm not certain, since I rarely smell vetiver as a note on its own. There was a whiff of the almond and then it was gone...or blended into the scent. The balsam of peru must be the resiny scent that is coming forward? So far, I really like this...I can only pray that the sage doesn't overwhelm everything else when it dries. Balsam of peru, vetiver, scorched earth and a little bit of cinnamon. Fire and earth and spice.

And There Was A Great Cry In Egypt

Wet, sandalwood, cypress and frankincense. Drying, it has blended more. I am having trouble picking out the notes. Spicy, resiny, woody goodness, though. Less throw than I was expecting on me, but, still nice.

The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil

In th eimp, vanilla and patchouli. On me wet, vanilla and caramel. Drying, the caramel steps back just a bit and lets the patchouli and sandalwood through. The vanilla and benzoin are blending with the patchouli and wood. The caramel is fading even more(as usual on my skin) and the vanilla is taking its place with the wood and the patchouli. Ah, a whiff of flowers...Iris, I think? Carnation may yet show up. So far, I am quite happy with the scent...and if it continues to behave on my skin, I may have something similar enough in feel to Red Lantern to make me happy when I am out of that. (of course, I thought that with Grog, too, but that vanished too soon to qualify)

    The Isle of the Dead

I'm praying the rose behaves in this. In the imp, lilies. On me, sweet sweet lilies. Cypress? There's the aquatic note and the sandalwood. I think I can maybe detect the rose...and since it usually amps on me that's fine, if it stays there in the background. There are the resins. If this is a semi aquatic and a scent with rose that actually works on me, then a miracle has occurred.
