    Purple Phoenix

In the bottle, I get plums and an unidentified flower. On my skin, I get plums and spice, which is just wonderful. As it drys down, it becomes sweeter and headier. It's absolutely delicious!

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

Um, oops, I posted this review in the wrong spot, I hope one of the mods notices it and deletes my old posts, it was one of the others that began with m.... Sweet? I like...Incense? I like...This was a sure bet for me, it's just a great smell. I couldn't stop sniffing my arm!

    Gennivre, L’Artiste du Diable

Sweet lemon mint tea! Very nice. It has a lot of my favorite smells in it - sugar, mint, tea. This is a hole-in-one for me. I really love it.

    The Organ Grinder (2006)

Almond milk, sarsaparilla, tobacco smoke, black patchouli and white pine bark. This one is very complex, pleasant, not a daily wear one at all. Despite all the food, there's a heavily smoked/campfire smell to it, reminds me of lapsang pouchong tea. But sweet, and slightly foody. Strange.

    The Phantom Calliope

Strongly cherry at first! Then verbena, then it gets less definite. Like a lot of the other C.D. scents, I wouldn't wear this normally. I get the same idea (though not the same smells) from a lot of the carnaval diabolique scents, I think that they're really beautifully crafted scents, but they're often so challenging, I don't find they would be a daily wear kind of smell.

    Theodosius, The Legerdemain

It's pleasant, I like the warmth given through the musk and vanilla bean, but it's not my cup of tea. Too much jasmine - my skin almost always over-amps jasmine!

    Melisande, The Puppet Mistress

My skin doesn't amp this as much as it does most jasmine blends, but I still get way more jasmine than any other smell.

    Cathode

I thought I wouldn't like this because of the green/woody notes of the moss. But, I thought it was bright and sweet, somewhat complex. Actually a very candy-ish pleasant cooling scent.

    Brimstone

Sour, smoky, and dark. Not my kind of thing. Pleasant if you like camping, or burning things. Just too intense for my taste!

    Blood Pearl

Warm, sexy, and sweet. I love anything with musk and/or coconut, this was right up my alley!

    Blood

Very very sweet and fruity. Just a little warmth and spice from the clove. Definitely nice!

    Black Pearl

Very pleasant, overall. I get a lot of hazelnut at the beginning, sweetly floral in the middle, musky over time, but still sweet. This is definitely one of my favorite oils - sweet and sexy.

    Bewitched

I can't say much about this one - I don't like green scents, and it was just too green and sharp for me.

    Aureus

This seems to be blended in some of my favorite oils. Is it a floral? It's some sort of mixture, but what is it? Resin and myrrh are two of my favorite components - this was mentioned a lot in the previous reviews, and hey, if those are in this, great! I gave it a 4 out of my personal scale of 5.

    Arachne

I thought this was fragrant, feminine, and sweet. It was a nice, light, but complex scent. It also wasn't too herbal for me, I tend to avoid green and herby scents.

    Absinthe

I don't typically like green scents, and as I expected, this was not to my liking. What I thought was strange was the anise-lemon scent that it ended up being - I somehow thought it would be more grassy and herbal.

    Alice

Alice is definitely one of my favorites! I like the sweetness and light of it. It's not too floral (I tend to dislike florals), and bergamot definitely dominates at first, but wears off gradually. I tend to dislike large doses of rose as well, and this isn't like that for me. It's just a touch, and it's just the right amount of rosy goodness. The honey makes it pretty darn sweet. It's an easy scent to love!

    Xanthe, The Weeping Clown

This is very sweet, with a pleasant sharp undertone, probably due to the pepper and orange peel. It's complex and very pleasant. Very light overall, I don't put much oil on ever, and it's not got a lot of throw. But I think it's great, and I like how it's not just sweetness and light. It's got a nice depth to it.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

I thought, wow this is herbal as I sniffed the bottle, but wearing it, it's greener than I normally like, but the complexity and sweetness is challenging and delicious. Yay! Love it.

    Pulcinella & Teresina

Oh, I can't say anything good about P&T...except that it lasts and lasts and lasts... I generally don't like wood scents, and rose is something I appreciate in moderation, but not overwhelmingly. So when I realized P&T was mostly a wood scent, lightly rose-y (from sniffing the bottle), I thought I would give it a try. On my skin, it turned my stomach, it was so strongly sour - almost rotten, cedary, but not in a nice way. And it stayed that way forEVER. I feel sad to give it away, but I definitely will put this up for sale or trade!

    Scarecrow

This was an extra in a group of imps I bought from the swaps board. All in all, it's a little too masculine for me. Reminds me of wheat or corn fields, baking dry in the summer sun. Reminds me of haybarns, and horse-feeding, and all of that stuff. Definitely one I will pass on. Not because I don't like it, it isn't unpleasant, but I'm a country-turned-city girl and it doesn't have good associations for me. edited for silly spelling mistakes.

    Absinthe

I smelled mostly of anise the entire time I wore this. Periodically I would scent lemon, or mint, or a sharp green smell, I'm guessing wormwood. But overwhelmingly, I smelled anise. Anise is one of those things I always seem to buy for myself, especially in teas, thinking "great, I'll love this" and it never rises up to my expectations of it. Unfortunately, Absinthe falls into this same category for me. A swap for sure.

    Hecate

I didn't like this one very much. Almond and anise are two of the scents I always think I will like and then don’t. Not that anise was in here. It simply wasn't my style, the almond was too overpowering.

    Masabakes

I got a lot of "that generic BPAL" scent from this one. It was incense-y, probably the myrrh. A little sweet and tany from the fruits, but I wonder what mandrake smells like? It was pleasant, but not my favorite. I will definitely wear it, once I run out of some other imps.

    Desire

I enjoyed how complex this perfume was. I never identified a single note and had it pinned down for any length of time. There was spice, there was wood, there was some citrus, there was some sweetness. But there was never too much of any one thing. This is another one I just sniffed and sniffed throughout the day. And loved while it was happening. I have to mention here that I thought I hate patchouli. But I didn't ever pin it down as a scent, it was so well blended with the other notes. Yay!
