My first sniff without notes was lily of the valley with a little soft lemon. This is a powdery, sweet, cool white scent. I think the most prominent notes on me are the jasmine (being demure for once), myrrh, neroli, and a little bergamot. This is an innocent, pretty spring scent for me.

The King of Hearts is a sexy man. At first it was a pretty, sweet rose, but then it dried down to a beautifully blended scent where no one scent is louder than the others, they're all supporting each other in a harmonious blend. I get the rosewood, sweetened by black cherry, and then a nice, mellow herbal lavender that isn't too astringent. The musks are hanging out in the background but not trying to dominant. Usually red musk goes haywire on my skin and rose can be overly loud, but here they behave and play well with the other notes.

Oh, this is not good. This is soap with a weird, sour, bilious scent. It's almost like soap and rotten fruit.

Woodsmoke is the most dominant note on me with a hint of labdanum and a feral smell that I'm assuming is the musk. It's not unpleasant, but it's not my kind of scent. It is interesting and I want to keep sniffing it.

This is buttery extra sugary kettle corn with a side of cotton candy. It's making me hungry and activating my sweet tooth! It's a fun, lighthearted scent.

initially this is a smokey cocoa mint - initially I thought it had vetiver in it. It softens to a cozy, subtle sweet mint , earthy chocolate cedar. It's cozy and warm. I don't get pistachio or oakmoss. Neither chocolate nor mint work very well on me so I shouldn't like this scent as much as I do, but they actually work with the cedar grounding them (my skin loves cedar).

This is a sweet, slightly sweetgrassy clove. It isn't fiery. It's sweet, soft (for clove), and comforting.

Starts off with a strong herbal lavender. It dries down to a soft, cottony tuberose. Tuberose smells like a plug-in or laundry detergent on me, tropical ones. This is a really good smelling detergent. I wouldn't be mad if my sheets smelled like this at night. I think the moss is helping to keep the tuberose from being too loud and a little more soft and cottony than normal.

I love daffodils, all varieties, and I love the way they all smell so I was compelled to get this. First on, it is a big loud floral. It's a little poopy in the way oud can be (is that indolic?), with some undercurrents of citrus. It's a little difficult to manage at this point the sillage is crazy. I'm overwhelmed by the smell of it in the crook of my elbow. I'm thinking this might be the poet's narcissus because it's similar to other narcissus notes I've smelled, e.g., hunger. As it dries down, it quiets, the poopiness goes away, and it turns into a beautiful yellow daffodil scent. Just sweet and bright like the hope of spring. The throw isn't as overwhelming and it lasts a good time. I'm hoping with aging it'll calm down and I won't have to go through the poopy phase to get to the pretty phase. ETA: Wearing it now several weeks later, it has totally calmed down. It is now a beautiful sunny daffodil scent with a little green. It's just gorgeous and springy. It has strong sillage but doesn't last long (just like the ephemerals it represents!).

It's that carrot seed snow that fights with beautiful sandalwood. The loud snow wins and then the scent disappears. The sandalwood is really gorgeous when it's on top.

2019 - When I sniff this I see the crumble strudel topping from an apple crisp. It is sweets oats and warm spices. It is a foodie scent on me. I don't get any sweet potato. Great. Now I want to make an apple crisp. It is making my wrist where it is applied itchy.

This is a sweet powdery musk (almost smells like a dark amber). I don't get any spice.

This is the green, carrot seed snow note. I amp carrot seed and it ruins every scent it's in for me. This is the chilly, evergreen carrot seed snow note with a little cedar and musk.

Before I looked at the notes, I was smelling fresh greeness and rose. It brought to mind green grass beside a rose garden. Now that's dried down and I see the notes, I smell rose and sage with a little bergamot and fruity nectarine and what I assume is ornery hedgehog musk. Unfortunately it is quickly turning to soap like a lot of rose notes do on me (especially combo'ed with sage). I think if your skin doesn't hate rose like mine, this is a very pretty and bright blend.

This is the smell of when you first open a pomegranate without spilling any juice. A somewhat earthy fruit. There's a promise of tartness, but it's really more of a tease. Then there's a dark, not really sweet, not really powdery, not golden at all, amber. It isn't a very strong perfume, but it lasts forever. 12 hours later it's become soap.

In the bottle, rose, syrupy cardamom, nag champa, and other things my nose can't identify. On me, soapy rose and syrupy cardamom when wet, eventually drying down to soapy nag champa and rose with an itsy bitsy teeny hint of cardamom. Mainly it's just soap though.

Amber and incense - I think it's myrrh.

Grain of salt: My skin tends to amp the sweetness in things, so keep that in mind. At first it is a green apple, not too tart, but not too sweet. A little floral, a little green grassy. Just very innocent and green. Then my skin chemistry takes control and it amps the sweetness to high heavens. It goes very sweet, almost cloying. There's a background of soapiness. After hanging for awhile (get it), it turns into apple bubblegum soap. It's almost BBW apple, but more soapy.

This is a soft, soothing scent. It is anise-forward palo santo with a soft, woody sandalwood. The anise scent isn't harsh or astringent like it sometimes can be. The palo santo takes a step back on dry down to contribute a nice sweetness to the warm woodiness of the sandalwood. This is my favorite version of sandalwood. I think this is my favorite duet. It is just so soothing and calming.

Starts off strong cherries, like bright red maraschino CHERRY. Quickly anise comes in and it's sweet licorice cherries, then sweet, fruity licorice as the red musk asserts itself, then eventually it dries to soft anise and red musk.

I meant to leave this for Kabuki, not Kyoto. Please delete.

JASMINE JASMINE JASMINE JASMINE, then fades to sweet rose with just a hint of resin.

First, it's a big loud white floral with a slight aquatic feel, then the orris pops up in the background to shush the moonflower. At this point it's like Zorya P without the grey and salt and whistfulness. As it dries down further, orris gives up and just glares at moonflower. Moonflower takes the hint and settles down into a more subtle sweet floral. It's really beautiful, but definitely a bold fragrance on me.
