Thanks again to Joseybird! In The Bottle: Wow! Mint mint mint and more mint with a hint of pepper. First on: Other than the fact his is burning me, it's quite soft. The cucumber mellows out all that mint and the pepper adds some nice diversity to it. After a bit: Ok, the burning sensation is gone. This is a great winter scent (or for the summer if you need to give the impression of being cool). A bit like toothpaste or a mint bubble gum, but the cucumber and pepper give it a warm freshness to it. I'd love this in a bath oil or bubble bath.

    Snow White

Thanks to Joseybird who so kindly sent me a few drops, I've finally had a chance to try this. In the bottle: Creamy and cool, like peppermint and milk brewed with some soft florals. First on: Mmmmmm (I LOVE winter scents). It's the same as in the bottle, very soft, creamy and cool. After a bit: This reminds me (and this is going to be hard to explain) of the inside of a dead tree branch in the winter. When the wood has gone to soft pulp but is dry. Anyone want to part with some

    Absinthe

I only had a chance to sniff this in the bottle, so this isn't going to be a lengthy review. First sniff: It smells exactly like my bottle of Trul 1792 Absinthe from Czech, like a very herbal and boozy licorice. I had to cross this off of my list, because even though it would be a complete novelty to have, I would never wear it and rather it get worn by someone who would enjoy it.

My husband received this as a roak from dcmo at the mns. Thank you! In the bottle: This is the perfect men's scent (and I dare any man to wear this around me and not expect to be molested). It's clean and fresh, some sweeter notes and some citrusy hidden in it's depth. First on: The combination here blends to a slightly spicy aquatic citrus scent with a sweetness lurking underneath. After a bit: I want to start licking my hand in sexual frustration. The bergamont and thyme lead way for a citrus effect with a slight apple juice impression, the lavender and moss add a mild astringent effect, the tonka and patchouli make for a slightly sweet spiciness. Over all the top middle and base are perfectly blended and balanced and I couldn't possibly ask for anything more in a masculine scent. I must acquire a 10ml to slather my husband in daily.

    Malediction

My husband acquired this from the meet'n'snif In the bottle: Earthy, mossy, dankness, some smoke. Basically rank patchouli. First on: It's very heavy and cloying, this reminds me of a sewer tunnel. Stone that's falling apart, stagnant mud, moss and mildew and old burned timber. After a bit: It takes on a slight soapy note mixed with all the dirt and grime. After a bit more: Hmm, this isn't as unpleasant as I first thought, rather masculine, and still very dank/woodsy, but there is the vetivert coming through that softens it. Not something I will ever wear, or insist that my husband wear around me. Edited to add: after about 15 minutes all I could smell was a slight smoke similar to brimstone, and this was very very faint. I'm rather glad my skin absorbed this.

    Elegba

I had the chance to sniff and try this thanks to dcmo. In the bottle: Sweet foody boozy heaven shot through with coconut. First on: The coconut is very true and strong followed with sugary rum and a light floral note. After a bit: The tabacco becomes more apparent as tabacco and is perfectly balanced with the coconut and rum. Papa Legba would be proud of this scent that honours him, and I need a 10ml!

    De Sade

In the bottle: Wet and smokey and very much leather. First on: Old leather and smoke. After a bit: This stays the same on me. This very much reminds me of the scent of a well worked in leather saddle or a really old baseball glove mixed with heavy smoke.

    Milk Moon 2005

Thanks to the Toronto swap'n'sniff I managed to score an imp of this. In the bottle: Fresh warm cream and sugar First on: The whole thing takes on a rather buttery caramel note on me. After a bit: It's still rather buttery and reminds me of caramel corn for some reason, but I also get a nice milkiness to it. Not exactly what I was hoping for when I sniffed it, but it's still quite lovely.

    Ace of Hearts

In the bottle: A soft green and white floral. First on: A pale floral that is crisp and clean but also soft and feminine. After a bit: This is very fresh and light, the rose scent is the greener part, when a rose isn't very scented (more like wet petals and freshly cut stems), the freesia, lotus and orchid and very clean, soft and feminine. For me this is the perfect spring/summer scent. I honestly wouldn't have thought there was so much rose in this, for traditionally I really don't like rose scents. I'm very glad to have had the chance to swap for this.

    Val Sans Retour

In the bottle: Citrus fruit rinds and pine needles. First on: It smells like an evergreen forest, or a christmas tree. After a bit: The Citrus zest is coming back, but the pine note is very dominant. I'll try this one on the husband, it's way too masculine for me.

    Endymion

In the bottle: Pear and lilly of the valley. First on: It's very soft, yet is very strong at the same time, the throw on this is incredible. Lilly of the valley is the most dominant with rose a close second, the pear lingers ever so slightly in the background but with this combination it almost makes it smell boozy. After a bit: Lilly of the valley and rose with a powdery sweetness and boozy after thought. A bit more: The rose becomes the race leader and the lilly of the valley turns really powdery. It's kinda smelling like a woman's bathroom with one of those floral air fresheners. I'll give this another shot when I'm not all horomonal, because as it is, the rose is killing it for me.

    Nanshe

In the bottle: Shrimp Tom Yum soup anyone? It smells exactly like lemongrass and cayanne pepper. First on: Lemongrass and pepper, but now I'm getting a slight curry note. This is making me hungry. After a bit: The lemongrass has morphed into a bitter lemon drop candy with pepper and curry. Conclusion: I'm not sure if this whoule help with dreams, but it's sure making me want some thai soup.

    Cthulhu

In the bottle: It smells like Lever 2000 soap. First on: It stills smells like Lever 2000, very clean/ozone/wet. After a bit: It's a very masculine scent that's for sure, much better on Adm than on me. It becomes more oceany, but remains smelling like Lever 2000 (or is it Irish Spring that I'm thinking of). I'm not getting anything dark or slithery here, it's bright, clean and fresh. Not at all what I was hoping for (and I'm still rather disappointed in this), but I like the husband to smell like he's just stepped out of the shower anyways, so it's good in that respect.

    Whippoorwill

This is now my favorite scent by a long shot. In the bottle: Pepper, dry wood and creamy cardamon with a hint of bamboo. First on: This scent is very creamy and second skin on me, it reminds me of drinking chai while sitting on the end of a cottage dock and watching the sun rise. After a bit: Stays true to initial application. A bit more: Becomes softer and creamier, it carries almost a milkiness to it. The throw isn't very strong, but that doesn't matter to me, I've taken up nuzzling my wrist quite frequently. Conclusion: This scent is pure heaven. Creamy and spicy with a faint hint of green that keeps this a dry scent. Beth, I thank you! Now only if I had of bought more bottles.

    Lady MacBeth

In the bottle: It smells like strawberry shisha (hookah tabacco). First on: Juicy berries and red licorice nibs as well as shisha. After a bit: Mmm, I love this scent, it's juicy and sweet but not cloyingly so. It smells like red licorice Nibs and shisha. The combo of wine, thyme and berries make for a wonderful blend. A bit more: Stays true the whole time on me. Overall: The blend of sweet red wine, thyme, currant and berries makes for a slightly heady hookah den while munching on Nibs. Very intoxicating. This is for sure going on my must buy a bottle pile.

    Brimstone

Please note, I don't like fire scents so this opinion may be tainted. My husband on the other hand, he loves them (but getting him to do a review will never happen). In the bottle: Like liquid smoke. First on: Where on earth is that cedar note coming from? So far I'm getting burning flesh, liquid smoke and cedar. After a bit: It takes on a weird medicinal tone on me, so now I'm getting liquid smoke, burning flesh, cedar and iodine. A bit more: Iodine and a campfire that was lit and then rained on a few days ago and is now mostly dry. Not my cuppa tea.

    Omen

In the bottle: Patchouli and juniper. First on: Almost floral O_o (this is nothing on me like it was on my husband). I'm getting a dusty floral with a hint of juniper. After a bit: Ahh ok, I can now smell the patchouli lurking ever so faintly around the edges of this. But I'm still getting a dusty floral with hints of juniper, but now it has an edge of sourness to it. A bit more: It's become more dusty and earthy smelling, but the combo is still screaming floral (like tea rose) for some bizarre reason, I'm guessing it's the combo of juniper and myrrh on me. My husband really likes this on him, I don't find it offensive on me, but not something I'd ever wear, we'll see if he gets to keep it (it's mostly patchouli on him which I can't stand).

    Alecto

In the bottle: Musty, a combo of damp wood and grass. First on: Wow, this is not my cuppa tea. It's very very musty on me, almost smells like mildew with cedar and a weird sweet note mixed with.. chocolate? After a bit: How it's damp and dry wood at the same time I don't know. It's not as offensive now, but I really don't like woody scents. I'm still getting the bakers chocolate note though. Almost like a dark Terry's Chocolate Raspberry that's been melting in a hamster cage. After a bit more: Interesting, this one morphs quickly and drastically. It still has the same notes that I'm getting, but the sweetness is more apparant (not a sugar sweetness, but a foliage sweetness) and the cedar has faded to the background. I will say after it dries it improves greatly. Yet again, proving that you can't judge BPAL from the first sniff. I'll try this on the husband and sees if he likes it, but I'm betting this is off to the swap pile though.

    Kingsport

In the bottle: Sweet, salty and wet. First on: Very ozone and ocean but there is a sweet muskiness to it that almost seems like a faint blend of berry and white musk. After a bit: Stays true to initial application. Very clean and wet smelling with an echo of a sweet light musk. After a bit more: This fades quickly on me and personally, I have far too many scents that smell like this. Off to the swap pile.

    Languor

In the bottle: Narcissus and lillies First on: This smells like perfumey florals with notes of civet for some reason. Very Chanel. After a bit: Very much a more traditional and classic perfume scent, I'm not sure why I keep smelling civet seeing as it's not in here, maybe the combo of the opium with the lillies is doing that. Reminds me of a Chanel or Jar perfume. A bit more: It's become softer, more delicate, but still has that classic perfume smell. This is a little too traditional for me.
  21. Spastik_Kitty

    Bathsheba

In the bottle: Very juicy, carnation and plum with a hint of incense First on: Carnation and sweet incense After a bit: This is a very warm scent, the carnation now mixes nicely with a golden musk with a sweet undertone. This is a very golden musky floral. Not my cuppa tea, but still rather beautiful.
  22. Spastik_Kitty

    Khephra

In the bottle: Nutmeg and resin First on: Nutmeg and resin with a slight floral note and a touch of cardamon. After a bit: This is very warm and dry, the nutmeg is still there but everything else has melded into a light dusty note, like dry sand. A bit more: This is a very close to the skin scent on me, like sand baking in the sun. Edited to add: After a few hours this did the same thing Debauchery did on me, turned into a pungent floral powdery scent that made me physically ill.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente

In the bottle: Wet and crisp. I notice summer herbs and clear pools of rain. First on: Orgasm! A very white aquatic note with a slash of peach and a tartness from pomegranate. I'm also still getting a very light green herbal note. After a bit: It turns a bit talcum powdery, but not in a baby powder scent. In a slightly perfumed dusting powder way. Still very crisp and clean with a faintness of tart juicy fruit. A bit more: This reminds me so much of something that I can't put my finger on. A shampoo scent? A lotion my mother used to wear? Maybe it was something I concoted with the perfume making kit I had as a child. This is very feminine, still slightly powdery, still fresh. The image this brings to mind is a little girl, sitting at her mother's vanity in a white bathroom. On her one side is a bowl of cool water with some fresh herbs and rose candles floating in it, on her other side is a bowl of white peaches. She's just spilled a container of dusting powder and is playing with a lipstick called pomegranate. I really want a 10ml of this.

    The Lion

In the bottle: A slighty fruity note, and dark smokey amber. First on: Deep amber and incense After a while: This stays the same and brings forth visions of ancient churches, hooded cloaks, and air filled with a smokey offering to whatever God/Goddess. A very mystical/spiritual scent.
  25. Spastik_Kitty

    Embalming Fluid

In the bottle: Lemon and green tea with a weird note of chemicals First on: Very strong on the chemical scent, lemon and green tea After a while: Plain and simple, this is like a synthetic green tea scent on me. Such a shame, I was really looking forward to this one.
