    Bonfire Night

I didn't get smoke out of this until almost three hours later, and even then it was more like ash. What it was up until that point? A black leather jacket. No treacle, no beer, no tar, just pure leather-tanning smells. Which is awesome in its own right, and I'm keeping it around for reference scents, though not as much for 'perfume' - but then I'm not into BPAL for 'perfume' as much as mental imagery-triggers (I'm a professional writer, what can I say? Unfortunately, BPAL doesn't count as a tax writeoff, though... ) I like it for atmospherics and stage-setting; but alas, my quest for the scent of a bonfire continues...

    Melisande, The Puppet Mistress

From the description, I ought to love this. I really, really wish I could like this. Heck, I wish I could stand it. I LOVE jasmine. I have a night-blooming jasmine plant that I adore. I love jasmine tea. But whatever it is I get from this, it hasn't got anything at all to do with the scent of my jasmine plant or jasmine tea -- it smells like rancid b. o. somehow, which I'm guessing must be related to the "dark musk" interacting with the jasmine? ;_; The only thing I've ever smelled that's put me off in a similar way is Kitsune-tsuki, which also has the jasmine and musk combination in it, so I'm starting to narrow down the source of the "omg ew" notes to me. But I really, really hope it's something to do with the jasmine-musk combination, and not with the particular jasmine oil that gets used, because like I mentioned jasmine and I are buddies and I'd love to be able to find a perfume that actually smelled like my plant's flowers....

    Cathedral

When I put this on, my very first thought was "hardware store" or "woodshop." I'd been to the hardware store 4x today and cutting a lot of pine boards, and at first I thought maybe I'd still got pine sap and shavings on me, so I washed to the elbows and made sure I didn't still smell like woodworking, then tried again -- yeah, bam-pow fresh-cut sawmill wood, pine and cedar most of all. Now that it's dried, it's a little dustier and softer, but the cedar's still jumping out at me.

    search engine stuff

It looks like the Stardust scents (and possibly some other categories that aren't listed as selectable in the advanced view of the main site's search engine) aren't included for searching. When I go to the search page at: http://vanilla.spicybrains.org/index.php and then enter "fairy" in either the basic or the advanced view, neither of the Stardust-line "fairy ____" items show up in the search results. I've found places to report bugs for this forum, but not for the lab itself -- where should I send this info?
