An 2004 GC scent I never got around to trying! At last. It’s…cinnamon red hots! But also a lot of vetiver. Oh wait, the notes are saying bitter almond. I guess that’s what it is. It’s so dark and earthy, like coffee grounds. A nice combination with the cinnamon. Not getting any neroli. The cinnamon is a little too much for me, as I probably always knew it would be, but I’m glad I got to try another OG BPAL scent anyway.

Like corn pudding with plenty of butter and brown sugar…rich and sweet and corn-y! It’s not a completely foodie blend, the mallow flower, peony and amber do elevate it to something even prettier, although they’re all very soft, faint notes. I love the lab’s oat blends and this is the first corn one that I remember. Love it. This will go on my bottle wishlist.

Very faint on me. Like if I applied a honey scent 6 hours ago. Very delicate honey with a whisper of baby powder. Honestly I could not even tell you if there was pumpkin in this. Weird. Maybe it just did not age well since it is from 2018.

Not sure why no reviews for this! A lovely aromatherapy type oil. Calming and clarifying. Soft dragon’s blood, strong herbs, and a touch of citrusy bergamot making me feel awake and focused. Adding to my bottle wishlist.

Soft patchouli and earthy oakmoss, and sweet ripe fig.. I can’t say that I am noticing a mushroom scent. This is a gentle hippie blend, very nice and not overbearing. Wow, I just noticed this came out in 2010 and I’m just now trying it. Well, it’s a fine everyday scent that I’m glad I got around to sampling!

Although rose is the first floral note listed, I’m getting a much stronger orchid, mixed with a light amount of dragon’s blood and then some white musk. It’s nice but I’m not a huuuuge orchid person and the rose is just kind of not showing up. This will be in my pile to frimp to someone else who may love it more.

I find the combination of these two notes meditative and calming. They’re both equally present, and combine together seamlessly, making something simple and beautiful.

Lovely foodie confection. Chocolate and maraschino cherry are the strongest notes at first, but then the creamy, nuttiness of the pistachio gelato becomes more noticeable and the chocolate fades a bit. I’m not getting saltiness…it’s very sweet and gourmand on me, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s such a cheerful, cute scent.

Witch in the Woods - This is like a deep blackberry herbal tea, medicinal and strong. So gorgeous. If I walked into a crystal shop that smelled like this I would be under their spell and buy everything lol. The blackthorn, mandrake, cypress – even though I’m not familiar enough with these notes to pick them out individually, they create a lovely dark green mysterious vibe. And there’s just the right mix of juicy dark berry and aged resins. Big bottle please!

This is NOT your Yankee Candle pumpkin spice. It’s a dark, desiccated, moldering pumpkin incense. I love how it’s so dark and weird, no hint of cloying cinnamon and sugar, but the pumpkin remains strong and pungent. This rules.

Oh that is nice. Sweet candy corn – basically sugar and cream - amplified by warm glowing amber. No “plastic” but very white, creamy, vanilla overall. I love it and want to smell like marshmallow amber 24/7 OMG. Like it just gets more amazing as I type.

I always have to try the oat blends because they can be so creamy and comforting. This one is a unexpectedly sweet. Like myla said it seems to have raisins or some dried fruit added. Or maybe that’s just the sweet evil of brimstone idk lol.

Kind of a sweet herbal milk. Like very medicinal but also creamy and well, milky. The sweet honey note is a little cloying and sour for me, I think I would prefer it without. I like the pepper and the herbal notes. Not sure about the fly agaric accord, hope I don’t die lol.

I just got back from Santa Fe so this naturally reminds me of pinon fires. The smoldering pine, so comforting when you come in from the cold. But then there’s also the oak, which is definitely prominent as well. I’m not sure what the “spiced” refers to, as it seems pretty straightforward pine and oak. A warm scent, heavy on the pine sap, sentimental.

I really wanted to try this to get a sense of what tuberose is like as a single note. It’s sooooo pretty, such a lovely sweet floral. I’ll be on the lookout for it in blends now. As others have noted, this definitely has a vintage, film noir vibe. Going on my big bottle list now.

Blueberry Banana Cream Pie
tinyvulture replied to Silvertree's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
This starts as pure banana cream pie with the banana pudding and buttery graham cracker crust. I waited for the blueberry to come out. Over time you do notice its tart, fruity note that splits 50/50 with the banana note. The note crust gets spicier (cinnamon) as it sits, as well. This is a nice foodie perfume but idk if I would wear it that often. I think I prefer the first impression when it is pure banana with a more buttery, less spicy crust, but that’s just me.- 8 replies

A spicy pumpkin chai, with plenty of cream to cut the spiciness. It’s really nicely balanced. You get the tea, ginger, and cardamom notes, but also the milk. So where in a lot of cases ginger is too astringent for me, here it’s just a mild spice with the creaminess of a warm mug of milk tea. Such a nice cozy fall scent!

Blacker than the Raven Wings of Midnight
tinyvulture replied to Jennifurious's topic in Limited Editions
Osmanthus and patchouli are what I notice. I am NOT getting tea, vanilla, or sandalwood. I am also NOT getting licorice or anise as other reviews mentioned. I AM getting the suggestion of ancient incense smoke whatever that means. This is midnight in summer, pitch black and warm and mysterious swirls of smoke drifting on the breeze, beckoning you into the woods. -
Soft frankincense and an herbal scent like a health food store. Like various herbs and teas. I’m not sure what heliotrope and angelica smell like as single notes, but I can pick out the chamomile. It’s a gentle soothing herbal floral. Wouldn’t mind a bottle!

Powdery narcissus and opium, matched with syrupy patchouli and medicinal sage. I’m not getting pee as others have mentioned! It’s goth and sexy, like a black slip dress and with little boots.

Burnt Sugar, Cream, and Strawberries
tinyvulture replied to Seajewel's topic in Duets & Menage A Trois
Squished strawberries cooked down with sugar, like a strawberry shortcake with a squirt of whipped cream from a spray canister. Super sweet, foodie, cute and childlike, Strawberry Shortcake nostalgia for sure!- 11 replies

A sharp, glassy blend with strong mint and grapefruit notes. Very refreshing, invigorating, spa-like. One of the OG blends and I’m just now trying it and yes, it definitely stands the test of time and is a perfume I’d wear for yoga or relaxation. Adding to bottle list!

Musk and peach! The musk is warm and has a little sourness but it works! The overall effect is sweet and sour like peach rings candy, as broccoliwitch said. It is really fruity and really sexy! Would love a bottle.
-
It’s a root beer float! The notes say licorice and nutmeg, and somehow they combine to make a root beer scent! And the bourbon vanilla and coconut milk combine to make a vanilla creaminess, like a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! It’s really kinda genius making a root beer blend without root beer. Seriously, think Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener + SN Vanilla. Love the creativity.

These sexy red musk scents get me every year come Lupers. Here the musk shares the spotlight with the dark notes of opoponax and tobacco, and maybe a whisper of patchouli. I’m waiting for the rose and berries to come through…5 minutes later, there is a “sweet fruits” note, not distinctively cherry, probably more blackberry. Still not really getting rose. It’s still a lovely Luper blend.
