    Pinched With Four Aces

The scent is like a heavenly cinnamon rich coffee cake, mellowed out with that fragrant note of fresh tobacco. I don't smell any of the wood, which is a blessing for me, as that often goes dry and dusty on my skin. The coffee is strong, but it is a very creamy, brewed coffee instead of just beans. The cinnamon note is not sharp. It's remarkably smooth. There's that sweet push of tobacco leaves and then more rich coffee goodness. It seems to last forever on me.

    Vampire Tears

This is one of my favorite scents. It has a slightly salty, candied grapefruit smell to me. It reminds me of the gummy grapefruit slices from Harry & David, though without the sense of pink. It's a light, almost refreshing candy scent that doens't become sticky or cloying. I think that must be due to the slightly saline element, which really rounds it out.

    Khajuraho

The description was so beautiful and intriguing I had to tr Khajuraho. In the bottle I can smell sandalwood and flowers. The sandalwood is very strong. (I've come to the conclusion that while I like the smell of sandalwood, wearing it is a bad idea for me.) For about thirty minutes, all I can smell on my skin is the combination of sandalwood and honey. It's pretty, but strange to my nose. It dries down to a more mellow scent, with some of the other notes dancing around the edges. In short, if you like sandalwood and honey, this is the scent for you!

    Mistletoe

As a friend put it, this is just like having your head under the Christmas tree while you get the trunk screwed into the base. Green vibrant tree all around! There's also something spicy sweet that makes me imagine red round tree decorations. It's almost berry like, but not quite and definitely tangy. This is the ultimate seasonal scent for me and I love it. It lingers for a couple hours on my skin.

    Lick It

The perfect crisp bright peppermint candy cane. Who needs any other holiday sweet?

    Hearth

This is what I wanted from Hearth in 2004 and didn't get. This is warm, rich, the fireplace with leather arm chairs, pine, the scent of something warm and rich. It feels so complex to me that it is hard to pick out individual pieces. But this is so comforting and rich.

    Nuclear Winter

Love! It's minty in a spearmint sort of way. Subtle, herbal type mint. There's an ozone/aquatic sort of tang to it. It reminds me of Frost Moon and Storm Moon combined. There's something tangy in there I can't place my finger on, must be the laser beams. It's very beautiful, and subtly masculine to me.

    Samhain

Alas, no sweetness for me. Where have you gone, little apple? Instead, it is woods and earth, and something like patchouli. Just that earthy, mysterious smell. I catch the leaves, and hints of sky in between.

    All Saints'

This blend baffles me. I smell wood. There's a touch of rose to it. But the wood is predominant, like the pews and the railings and confessional boothes in older churches. Wood, and then the incense begins to come out. It's heavy on me, which I think is entirely a skin chemistry issue. All I can smell is the incense.

    Blood Moon 2005

When opening the bottle, I get a strong rush of cinnamon. Mmm, nose tingling. It smells like cinnamon and frankincense to me. Wearing it, the cinnamon fades down and becomes part of a tingly, herbal mix. I get a bit of musk. But what it really coming out for me is this strange grain note. It really smells like wheat grains, or hay, with a musky undertone. I'm still getting the woodsy, herbal, spiced background. But there is no sweetness to it on my skin. Very interesting!

Oh popcorn. Buttery buttery popcorn. I get a whiff of something almost like chocolate in it! This is decadent popcorn. I wish I could have soap that smelled like this.

    Kurukulla

Now I know where to go for my lotus fix! Intensely sweet, wet lotus blooms. I don't get a lot of rose, it is more a supporting cast here. Sadly it fades quickly.

    Versailles

Sweet golden citrus and that bright, almost green scent of a new flower when you press your nose into it. The rose is very subtle in this blend. Very clean, sparkling floral with the crisp citrus notes on top. As it warms up on the skin I get more of the jasmine.

    The Black Tower

The first whiff is sweet with the wine. Then I start to smell the sandalwood and leather. The ivy really comes out after a minute or so. It's a beautiful, soft scent on me. There is a tingly hint of ozone and wood to it. I think it is profoundly lovely.

    Paris

I'm not sure I would have said lavender at first when sniffing this. There was something very mysterious about the straight out of the vial whiff. I can really smell the lotus, which makes me intensely happy. It wafts around in a pale way, sweet but dry. There is the herbal, tingly background composed of the lavender and spices. I can't quite put my finger on the spices. They are there, but I couldn't tell you how many. This blend reminds me of little round sachets studded with spices and herbs carried by aristocratic women to ward off the smells of the common world. Very nice.

    Aglaea

Hello Peaches! Sweet, jammy peaches. Summertime peaches, thick and sticky in the late afternoon. The peaches are complimented by the musky undertone and a dry green note that I'm guessing is the myrtle. I'm not sure I can pick out the amber, unless it is making the peaches smell so warm and flush. Peaches aren't my thing, but it is a lovely blend. Splendid!

    The Lion

There’s a rich cinnamon tang to this scent. It just cries out to be in sun warmed grass. Very golden, bright notes but not to loud or sharp. It’s like the best of a summer afternoon, the heat on the grass and ground, warm air moving in short breezes. Very regal, but indolent. This is wonderful.

    Venice

This smell is so complex. At first, I get the lemons all bright and sharp. There's something aquatic about those lemons too. I get a big rush of jasmine and then the other floral notes begin to mingle. Underneath is the dry dusty sandalwood scent. It's so elegant and it makes me think of the light at ten in the morning, water slapping against stone, branches and flowers and bright yellow lemons on the table. It is so superb.

    Velvet

Envelop yourself in the soft, sensual embrace of gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh. The first whiff is sweet, cocoa and vanilla and something else that just smells like the magical alchemy of baking to me. It’s like hovering in the kitchen after I’ve just thrown a cake in the oven, with the smell of batter lingering and the first heat browning the ingredients. As it dries down it becomes intensely sandalwood, dusky and dry. The cocoa lingers but the sweetness vanishes. It’s lovely. I want to bathe in this now. It lingers for quite a few hours on my skin and makes me a very happy girl indeed.

    House of Mirrors

This smells like glass, which blows my mind. How do you make something smell like glass? I love it though, because it's just beautifully crystalline and smooth. There's a resiny sort of warm background to it, and it reminds me intensely of summer afternoons. Glass, warmed and smooth.

    Midway

This smells so sugary sweet my teeth ache just sniffing the bottle. Oh delicious fair foods, how I love thee. Strangely, this has the same note as Snow White and Spooky that went flat and plastic on me. Woe! So I gifted my dear friend with Midway and she smells like a carnival of tastiness.

    Cthulhu

This scent has that same marine tang I enjoyed so much in Storm Moon. It's salty and deep. It seems to come and go on my wrist, in between the scent of kelp and green weeds. This is so beautiful I could kick myself for only getting one bottle.

    Ace of Hearts

This bottle makes me think of white blossoms on blue, clear water. It's sweet, almost like candy or sugar but that gets tempered by the water note. It makes me feel light, like my feet aren't quite on the ground.

    Arkham

Springtime in Arkham means deep shadows under the trees and scattered, sunlit glades full of soft and fragile wildflowers. The whole wood is holding its breath, and the air barely stirs. The flowers are small, colorful and sweet. This blend is delicate and unexpected. There are warm flowers and cool shadows, and something lurking just out of sight.

    Strawberry Moon 2005

This is my most favorite Moon ever. The strawberries smell fresh and sugared, dunked in cream and placed out in the sun. There's a green, grassy note in the back ground that makes me think of parks and summer picnics. It's sweet without being cloying, and seems to last forever on me. I love it.
