  1. In the imp, I smell *old lady*. Wearing it is a little better, I still get a slight old lady smell but almost something minty or fresh coming through as well. This isn't my style. I barely detect orange and I guess I am attributing the *old lady* to the patchouli. I've never been a patchouli lover. There is almost a leather undertone in this one too. Okay now the fragrance is starting to develop more. It is sweeter now, and I can see where some people are getting chocolate. Not bad after all! I just need to wait for the complete drydown. I can see how Shalimar might be referenced when describing this one, but Vixen seems like a lighter version.

  2. Ooo a nice light incense scent on my skin. I detect a slight hint of strawberry but mostly sweet incense. I've found that I enjoy the incense type fragrances from the Lab. Uh oh, this one is slipping away from my skin. EXTREMELY light, no throw it seems. It's almost gone under 3 minutes. :P If it was stronger and richer I might buy a full size.

  3. I really looked forward to this one! It IS a sweet, pretty, sparkling peach fragrance, but something about it is a little much for me. I might have applied too much, but there is something in here that makes me feel a little queasy when I smell it. Maybe it is just too sweet? I'll have to try it again in less amount to see if it still makes me feel nauseous.

  4. Ohhh how lovely this one is. Wet is is fresh purple orchids. Very uplifting. I'm not a huge floral scent lover, but this one is fabulous. This fragrance screams the color purple, so if you like those types of scents, then this is one for you to try. This is such a heavenly scent. The scent fades a bit after a couple of minutes and is quite a bit lighter, but still very nice.

Edit: You know, like the poster said before me, it DOES have a slight tuberose-like note.

  5. In the imp it smells perfumey. On it was not good. Not terrible but not something I would choose to wear...unless it is on my hair! It smells of hairspray. Not expensive hairspray either...like a drugstore hairspray in a pump bottle. I get a tinge of old vanilla but mostly it's cheap hairspray.

  6. On me London is a very light tea rose scent. Very linear. Not overwhelming at all and can be worn during day or night. It just doesn't last long on my skin and is barely detectable after a few minutes. Not something I would purchase but I will enjoy my imp.

  7. On me, when it is wet Drink Me is a delicious blend of boozy caramel and vanilla. When it dries it is a soft delectible vanilla scent. The caramel is still there but isn't as pronounced. Yummmm, this is one of the best I've smelled from BPAL. Oooo, now the scent has transformed on my skin with the boozy caramel coming back to the forefront. Lighter, but still there. Full bottle worthy!

  8. Is there a BPAL that is like Versace Woman?

Notes are: Frangipani Blossoms and Leaves, Jasmine, Bergamot, Eglantine, Padparadscha Lotus, Plum, Raspberry, Blue Cedar of Lebanon, Musk, Amber, Inoke Wood

It honestly smells sort of sparkling peach on me even though peach isn't a note.

I am not familiar with Versace Woman, but when you mentioned it smells like sparkling peach, I immediately thought of Tamora, which has: Amber, heliotrope, golden sandalwood, peach blossom and vanilla bean.

I may give that one a try. Thanks!

  9. Shango!! It always reminds me of fruit punch, and it doesn't have a boozy quality to it. Hmm...I need to get a bottle of it...

I second Iceblink's suggestion of Shango. I was almost afraid to try my frimp of it because of the banana note, but that didn't come out on my skin - the result was a slightly spicy, mostly appley scent that could definitely fall under fruit punch.

I was able to get my hands on a bottle of Shango from a seller on ebay, and while I really do like it, it just isn't the perfect fruit punch scent for me. I think I am looking for a more "red" fruit punch scent, much like the Hawaiian Punch we had at bday parties when we were kids. Any more recs? I will continue to check the others out that have already been recommended. I doubt I will really like something with a boozy note like Spiked Punch has, so something punchy without the alcohol would be what I am searching for.

I want to smell like what comes in this can:

    :P

  10. Haven't sniffed it, but by the notes, what about Cordelia: The essence of faith, love and devotion: lilac, lemon, green tea, wisteria, osmanthus, white cedar, and Chinese musk.

Also, possibly Orpheus from the Salon: Pale musk, green mandarin, neroli, benzoin, citrus peel, blue lavender, narcissus, stephanotis, crushed green stems, willow branch and cedar.

Hmmm those sound really nice. I will look into them. Thanks!

  11. This scent has always smelled like nothing else to me. I found it a little hard to find what notes it contains and what I did find is fairly vague. I found that the scent is "citrus, floral and cedar notes, deepened with a hint of warm musk". Whenever I smell this I get hints of floral and citrus and....kind of a plastic babydoll smell - but in a good way!

Does anyone who has smelled this fragrance before know of a BPAL that is similar?

Also, about 10 or so years ago Heart was part of a Garden Botanika line of scents called "Transparencies". There was another fragrance in the line that I really loved called "Soul". It was the yellow fragrance. Unfortunately it has been long discontinued but all I really remember is that it smelled very spring/summer. I saw someone on another page say that it is similar to Dior Dune, but I have never smelled that before. Dune is described as "oceanic, floral mixture of lily and broom top notes, wallflower and peony middle notes and amber and lichen base notes." If anyone remembers Soul or knows of something BPAL that might smell similar to it that would be great too!

    Thanks! :P

  12. Hi all, does anyone know of any BPAL scents that would be similar to my discontinued Escada Collection? Notes were:

Sweet oriental blend of mandarin, cola, jasmine, tonka bean, musk and sandalwood

    Thank you! :D

I would like to know that as well. That's the only Escada I really like and it's so pretty.

ETA: I didn't see the answer before posting :P but personally Mata Hari smells nothing like Escada Collection.

I agree. EC was just so different and a very sexy fragrance! Too bad they discontinued it. I have to admit I do like Escada Magnetism but sometimes it is just too sweet. I like the new Moon Sparkle too though. I find it is a little deeper than the summery fragrances they have been putting out every year.

  13. Thanks everyone for your replies! Thanks also to ivyandpeony for helping add more info to my topic.

I actually used to work for TIGI so that is part of the reason why I know the fragrance notes of the shampoo. I used to wish they would somehow bottle the fragrance and sell it as a perfume but I don't think they would do that.

I will check out the fragrances that you all have listed here and hopefully they will smell similar. If anyone comes up with any more suggestions please fill me in!
