    Water of Notre Dame

Wet, I get roses and something citrusy. It's interesting. Dry, I get soap. Soap, soap, soapy soap.

Unveil The Grace In Thine Eyes

So, I've been trying to decide how I feel about this. It should have been glorious, every note is great on me. And it is great - except for the part where I keep getting wiffs of wet paper and wallpaper paste. I want the beautiful, fuzzy scent without the 'house remodeling' base.

    Noh Mask and Maple Leaves

I don't really get 'green' out of this. The clove is at the forefront giving a beautiful sweet spiciness to the maple leaves. This smells like autumn to me. It might be because I come from a part of the US where maple trees are dominant. I always love bpal's dry leaf blends, but they always seem to be missing the warm sweetness that dry maple leaves give off. This is September in a bottle for me. The leaves are just starting to turn and the sun is still warm in the afternoons, and the air is full with the light, sweet scent of maple leaves.

    A Thought from Propertius

Cinnamon. My skin must be reading the cayenne as cinnamon because that is mostly what I smell. Straight up craft store cinnamon with some honeyed fruit underneath. I am disappoint. eta further dry down: The cinnamon scent does settle down and it ends up smelling kind of like The Vine with cinnamon. 3 or so hours after application it mostly smells like pure honey.

    Jupiterian Phoenix

I'm really enjoying this one. Wet, it goes on as a sweet pine scent, kind of like Black Forest. As it dries on the skin it blooms and become infinitely more complex. This is very well blended with the green tea tying all the other notes together. Woody, spicy, a little bit sweet. The image it bring to mind is of sitting by the window in a cottage in the woods, a cup of steaming tea, a drizzle of rain through the branches. Quiet, peaceful, contentment.

    Lil' Menes' Feline Entertainments

Almost, this one was almost great. It starts out smelling like an herbal black musk, but dries down to something more in the red musk category. Red musk can go two ways on me and this is the bad way. It's way cloying. It's the same red musk note that ruins Fenris Wolf and Great Sword of War on me. The herbal component is still there, but it's overshadowed by the cloying musk.

    Mrs. Grose

I wanted this one to work and was sure it wouldn't. I've been pleasantly surprised though. Mrs. Grose is wonderful. I can smell all three notes and the tea doesn't go gross like it has in every other blend I've tried it in. This smells like a cup of tea that I would love to drink (I love rose flavored anything).

    Rose Red

2012 Beautiful. These are lush, red, straight from the florist's fridge roses. Sweet with a hint of cool greenery. Strong throw. I'm not sure if I need to upgrade my decant, but I will definitely be keeping it.

    Mother Shub's Gingerbread Temples

I like this one a lot. It smells like raw ginger and honey to my nose. The honey note has an almost floral note that makes it rather pretty. The honey really blooms on the skin and isn't really like honey in bpal normally is. This is like opening a fresh jar of raw honey, the kind that just transports you to the field of flowers it originated in.

    Sweet Lavinia's Dread Puddings

Maple syrup and cinnamon. It's long lasting, with a decent throw. It smells good but it's a bit too generic to need an upgrade. I have several other scents that do it better.

    Hell's Belle

I quite like how this smells, but I can't wear it. The floral bit is trampling all over my allergies. It's too bad because it smells like a gorgeous summer scent.

    BPAL and pregnancy

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I haven't noticed any difference in skin chemistry so far, it was the same with my first. I still skin test everything that I buy, for me only a small dot is needed and I can't imagine that tiny amount doing much. Then I put what I like in my clocket. Once I got out of my first trimester I started wearing some on my skin again too as long as there aren't any problem notes listed and I tend to wear less than I did before I was pregnant.

    Amber & Patchouli Hair Gloss

I love this when it first goes on my hair, but as the day goes on it loses a lot of its fragrance and my hair just smells musty. There nothing quite like stopping and thinking, "Why do I smell like my grandmother's basement.... Oh gods it's my hair!"

    Beaver Moon 2012

This delivers exactly what it says it is. Creamy appley goodness. I'm not really getting much spice in mine, just warm caramel apples and cheesecake.

    Wolf Spider

This is lovely on me. I'm getting a woody not very sweet coconut and tobacco. The chamomile makes a strong appearance on me. I'm really digging this. Coconut tends to always give me a tropical feeling, but this one doesn't really.

    Pumpkin V

Pumpkin Masala Rooibos is that you? Yep, pretty much. Side by side they are almost identical except that PMR has that lovely deep red tea note to offset all the Spice! Dry the spice does mellow a lot in this one and it is lovely, but I'm not sure that it's different enough/I like it enough to keep it and PMR.

    Badgers

So, the only thing that is keeping this blend from skyrocketing into my top ten is that I'm a little bit allergic to honeysuckle. It's going to have to wait in reserve for days when I'm having absolutely no allergy/asthma issues and feel like I can handle it. This is beautiful soft brown leather, I think the softest leather that I have ever smelled in a bpal. It blends together seamlessly with the patch, vanilla and the sarsaparilla to make a beautiful spicy, warm, sweet, earthy scent. For me, the honeysuckle is a little high pitched and green sitting on top, especially until it dries, but I think that it is only so predominant to my nose because it bothers my allergies. Dry, everything seems to meld and deepen much better and I have a harder time picking out individual notes. edit- Seriously screw my allergies, this is too gorgeous to not be in my top ten. It's definitely my top leather scent.

    David's Tea "Stormy Night"

There are so many teas I would love to convert into perfumes. I would wear the hell out of anything that smells like Celestial Seasonings Nutcracker Sweet. All the website gives me as far as what is in it is, "Irresistibly delicious black tea with vanilla, nutty flavors and a pinch of cinnamon." Any ideas for that one? The cinnamon isn't really pronounced in it to my nose, more like playful wooden mallets type of cinnamon.

    Raven Moon

This is dark, spicy, and sexy as hell. I kind of want to put this all over my sheets and roll around in it.

    Mariposita

This scent almost defies reviewing. It really does smell like my daughter right after a bath- warm, clean skin and the faint scent of her lavender shampoo. It's the strawberries that take the front, but they are strawberries like I haven't smelled in bpal before. This isn't the heady, sweet smell of fresh strawberries - this is the memory of strawberries. It's as if you had eaten a whole pint of lovely, ripe strawberries and then tried to wash all the juice from you hands. Hours later their scent still lingers, wafting up to you, making you smile. I don't really smell honey, if it's there it is simply adding to the sweetness and not adding a scent of its own. This is a nostalgic, close to the skin kind of scent. Reminiscent of that scent that lingers in your child's favorite blankets and clothes and makes you smile even when they aren't there. A scent that brings actual tears to my eyes because I know that it's going to get a lot of wear in years to come as my little girl grows. A scent to remember with when bedtime stories are a thing of the past and afternoons are no longer spent outside in the sunshine and the grass playing, "Look mommy, a flower."

    Eight-Petaled Lotus

Pure, sharp shampoo. Sadly, this one is a big no. True to most things I dislike the scent is intense, I can't wash it off, and the throw is significant.
