    The Fruit of Paradise

I definitely get a whiff of the stem of of the pomegranate plant (tree?...Bah Ignorance!) along with the juicy garnet fruit note. It's quite mysterious, that other note. Could it be sap, or leaf? Whatever it may be, the whole effect is quite charming, if sort of generically perfume-y smelling.

    Pumpkin III (2007)

I am having a similar experience to miss apple... This is only the first application, but after 90 minutes a very sharp burnt sugar scent is all that remains of the sumptuous pumpkin. I will have to give it a few more tries.

    Rose Red

Perhaps it's because I have a bottle of the 07 blend, but I distinctly get a crisp soil note, particularly when freshly applied. I also get a lot of green stemminess...it makes me smell like an entire rosebush! How delightful. I really love this scent.

    Malkuth

Honestly, I have no idea where y'all are getting the fruitiness you speak of. I was all excited for some blackberry sweetness, but when I opened the bottle I was absolutely bowled over by what smells like red patchouli to me. Not my fave note. As the blend dries I get some woodsy note, I think it is cedar, as someone mentioned. Then after the drydown is complete the spicy cinnamon emerges, which is nice enough to make this one a keeper for me...I think! We'll see if it smells good at this party I am going to tonight.

    The Cracked Bell

I totally get the gypsy queen comparison, but I feel like The Cracked Bell is much milder and smoother in comparison. On my skin this scent is really warm, soft and rich. I heart it. It's spicy and complex without being overpowering. I don't find it creepy at all! Mysterious, maybe. I also love The Cracked Bell because it is teaching me about metallic notes, and how they almost immediately disappear on contact with my skin. Must be because I am so salty!

    Shub-Niggurath

The sharp spicy warmth of the gingers are prominent at the moment of slather. As the blend dries, I think I can smell some depth from other spices (cinnamon? cardamom?), and a creamy sweetness unfolds. Delicious!

    High John the Conqueror

Wet, this blend smacks of bright golden woods, herbs, and clean air. I get none of the grape references, but perhaps i can't identify a grape note if i smell it. On the drydown, the freshness remains, and the goldenness mellows into a smooth, sweet shimmer. This scent is long lasting, and has good throw. Honestly, I haven't noticed any behavioral effects on others, but I get a nice little boost of energy when I wear it. The bf and I share this one, which is fun!
