  1. This was a surprise hit for me as well. I don't care too much for carnations (like Lush Potion or bpal Hod...though i like Clemence) but this isn't really what you would necessarily first think of as spicy carnation scents. It's very fresh...like when you first squirt an orange but not the orange smell...that initial blast of "citrus" that is bright. I also get a clean Charmin scent (in a good way). Neither the carnation or grape scream....grape turns weird on my skin and this does not. This is oddly wonderful and beautiful! I love this scent!!!

    Chewing Little Bits of String

wet I get a bright lemon sugar scent. Then a splash of tea and lots of wet cotton paper scent. I don't distinctly smell marshmallows…the sugary note mixes in with the green notes of the lettuce to make what i detect smells like linden blossom. a very light linden blossom and vanilla type blend to my nose. this is not foodie to me...it's light, complex and almost a light floral scent? it's quite lovely, though not as foodie as i expected it to be.

    Cake Smash

I wear Beaver Moon 05 and Beaversary a lot. I really thought i mixed up the bottles when i put on Cake Smash! Sniffed in the bottle and then first blasts on my skin, definitely the Beaves. After it started to dry down, I got that undertone that I thought was aged snake oil...can't remember about the Dorian as i know i like SO but not Dorian. I will say that Cake Smash smelled like strong, pungent, amped up Beaversary. It was almost verging on that foodie scent with a dense undertone of musk. The Beaves are a more clean and pure foodie scent...a strong cheesecake or sugar smell that stays in that vein. Like donuts. But Cake Smash was stronger and more pungent. I thought this was going to be a multiple bottle scent for me but I think I'm happy with my one. It's so close to the Beavs that it smells like what the Beavs might smell like in 10 years!

    Pumpkin IV (2009)

smells like the warm aftershaven cheek of a nice man. Pleasant for a bit. Dries down to a peppery spice on the skin….only when you smell the skin directly. Nothing much else wafts off of it.

    Pomona

first blast is a cold green apple jolly rancher? i say cold because there is a searing quality to the smell, in a refreshing way....like snorting jolly ranchers in a snowstorm. lol! this was more appley than nuts for me. it mellows to the pom scent that just doesn't marry well with my skin.

    Trick or Treat

lightly spiced cake. No candy corn at all. It's an excellent cakey scent to add to the collection.

    Boo

Not reading this as Marshmallow at all. This smells like Glowing Vulva to me. ick cream.

    Pumpkin Pie Bath Oil

In the bottle it's pumpkin pie fillling, lots of spices and quite a bit of the crust too! You first blast is the filling, then the spices linger on your nose, and then you are left with the foodie crust scent. Delicious! In the bath I was surprised to see that of all the BPAL bath oils, this one was surprisingly mild. I use Winter Maiden, Ice Price, Holiday Stress Relief, Frenum etc. and all you need is a squirt and you get quite a lot of scent. a LOT. But PP hit the water and I got a burst of the yummy pie, complete with a nice powdery crust note and then settled back......hints of mild spice...and then mostly nothing. I didn't want to put too much in the bath until i knew the strength of the oils so i put in another half pour out of the bottle. Basically the same thing happened. It was a wonderful wafting of scent but shockingly mild. I had no burning issues whatsoever in the bath. I do use the other bath oils directly on my skin in the shower but have not tried PP on my skin directly. after the bath, i smell mostly faint pumpkin filling on my skin. pleasant. If you like pie spices, pureed filling and lots of doughy crust, you should get 2 bottles cuz you may be dumping this in way more than your other oils!!!!!!

    Mole

WET: mossy men's cologne, quite strong yet unique. DRYING: um, turning not so good. earthy but in an unpleasant way. i'm trying to keep it on but i want to wash it off. DRY: was hoping this would morph but it did not. this scent might age well though?

    Champagne and Cigars

I really wish i could post my real review of this scent here, complete with graphic details and general lewd nastiness!!! but suffice it to say that this was a stale cigar, kind of wet from man sweat, dumped in a cheap glass of champagne, poured over brothel bed and then left in 100 degree heat. ultra sweet syrupy fizzy champagne and gross damp cigar leaves. Bleck!

    Gelt

WOW. Count me in the minority on this one too. This was an absolute failure on me. I was desperately hoping for something great too and this just did not work on my skin. at all. i can't even describe it but it was just so bad. It was a cocoa powder kind of undertone but then there was just weird spoiled spices or dusty funk.

    Hanerot Halalu

incense, honey smoke....LOTS OF HONEY SMOKE!!!! and um.... baby powder; dries to overpowering baby powder. stays baby powder. overall not so good on me..the honey note killed it for me and then the baby powder just never went anywhere else. Shoot!

    Tissue

i totally did not expect to be blown away by this, but i am. it's very simple but it's so pretty and wearable! i put it on as an afterthought and couldn't help but wonder what smelled so good, not knowing what exactly this would end up as. if this is gardenia, then whatever is in it makes it the prettiest scent of CLEAN ever. the DH was following me around as it was the exact scent of clean soap (which is actually my hair mousse but he doesn't know that!!) that he loves that is just like shower freshness or the best freshly washed clothes in the best smelling soap ever designed. i was terribly afraid of the honey note, since my skin amps it and i get honeyedbutt out of it that is just so nasty i just avoid honey notes. but i didn't get any note of it at all (it's "raw honey" in the description FWIW)...so i am pleasantly surprised and thankful!!! It has great staying power and the more it dries and goes on with the day, the more you feel clean and uplifted and just so darn happy!! the best way i can describe it as the Scent of Clean.
  14. ick! the champagne scent is there, much like lush's css and it's very strong and effervescent. but there is just a cloying element to the scent that i can't get over, nor would i want to smell like this. it drowns out everything else, like you spilled cheap champagne all over yourself. this is better than the cigar scent though, which was completely hideous!!!

    Lovers in a Ricefield

WET: plummy perfume wet. Teas with spice. Nice so far and smells very unique. DRYING: What started out as very good is turning slightly strange as it dries. The purple scent is being overtaken by slightly rotting stems in a field. DRY: The dry down of this is hitting an annoying stage for me. deep, dark rotting plum cookies? lab plum is not a friend to me but now i notice that there is vanilla in here as well which is a note of doom. the vanilla is making the weird plum even darker and weirder. man this was SO close too! i'd say scent locket for me for sure...it started out really nice!

    Jack

wet cookies. Then gets annoying. Very spicey batter and too much cake for my skin. Almost going maple in a bad way. Ick. This is a foodie scent that did not work on me (a foodie lover!).

    Candy Phoenix

penicillin? why do these pink scents just not work on me????

    Dark Chocolate and Cherry

When i was decanting this, the room was overwhelming with a delicious cherry and dark chocolate explosion of foodie goodness. I mean, it was dominant and overpowering and I didn't even test any on my skin yet. So for me, i would say that if you want the best cherry chocolate smell in a scent locket, this is it hands down. I get more of a fake cherry syrup from MB Bloody Mary...this one is more like a dark cherry in syrup, drenched in dark choclate. Also you can really smell the difference of the dark chocolate itself. on my skin it morphed and faded a bit (keeping in mind i didn't slather this on)..still very much true to a cherry cordial. this is a no brainer for cherry chocolate fans and i liked this wet scent better than the strawberry chocolate blend. it was truer and juicier whereas the strawberry scent morphed a lot more. ETA: Twizzlers! smells like twizzlers with dark chocolate smeared on them!

There's a Certain Slant of Light

This one was so close to a WIN for me but missed it's mark (to date). Starts off a faint violet scent but then goes away and turns to something strange. What begins as violets and green stems of flowers morphs away to almost a floral scent...which slanted a little too far away from the green stemmy goodness it started as!!! Overall the dry down is a nondescript floral scent that went away on me. No staying power and disappointing.

    Wood Phoenix

Starts out super nice, very mellow...like wood or oily wood. A little like faint men's cologne but better. It's masculine but not in a bad way or in an unwearable way...it's strangely soft but distinct. I thought this would have great staying power but surprisingly it fades really really fast. Overall a "no" for me.

    Water Phoenix

Smells like zest or lever 2000, clean and soapy, maybe like men's soap?? There is something herbal and woody as the undertone to the clean soap scent. It's not bad but it's not something i would reach for.

    Couple Consulting an Enpon

This is my favorite of the shungas (so far) and i've worn it 3 times, despite needing to test the other shungas. It is surprisingly lovely on my skin. It starts out tea and fruits...something deeper than Shango (which does not work for me) but not fruity like Earth Rat (which i like but it's omgfruits). It's subtle but deep and sexy. There is something keeping it light but you will sniff your arm and wonder "where is that lovely scent coming from?" It's one that i tried twice initially because i thought it was the wrong oil that wafting off my arm that was so good. I can't describe it more than fruits, incense, a dash of mint that is not discernible other than keeping the whole blend from being too serious...but the dry down is amazing. Complex, wearable, sexy, spicey and perfect!!!

    Dark Chocolate and Pepper-Smoked Caramel

I love this scent. It smells a lot like Kahlua or a coffee based liquor scent...similar to egg nog latte and the like (when it is WET). There is a definite smoke element that comes out of it as it dries down that is different than a regular coffee house scent. But overall it's chocolate and spices and sexy and really the best of the Box imo.

    White Chocolate and Strawberry

This smells more like real strawberries and i'm getting more strawberry from this than i ever did from strawberry moon. Also a good locket scent since i found that the lab's strawberry tends to morph on my skin. As it was drying it stayed strawberry and the chocolate did come out. It smelled very yummy overall. The drydown later went a bit ashy/plastic on my skin...just a tad or a hint of it. Overall I'd still get another bottle of it though.

    Milk Chocolate Buttercream

I thought this was a really great chocolate scent that had great creaminess to it. I would have thought that THIS one had the coconut in it (it does not). It did not go sour on my skin (while Bliss does) and i thought the wet scent for a locket was also better than Bliss. It's very creamy and very buttery and a nice scent for chocolate lovers. Would also be good to layer with.
