It's all sharp and dark hazelnuts in the bottle, then on skin it warms up to beautiful marshmallows, like the marshmallows in Lucky Charms with a hint of warm hazelnut spread. It's very comforting and cozy.

If you adore roses, this is for you. It's very pure and clean and magically smells like real living red roses. It always makes any space so luxurious. I love it.

This idea stole my heart because I love fig and honey notes. Unfortunately the lotion needs some tweaking. It's a pump bottle, but the formula is thick, melty, and semi solid. lt should be in a jar, not a pump bottle! I couldn't manage to pump any lotion at all. I had to take the top off. The lotion itself is verrrry faint. The formula is luxurious on my skin, but that's the only upside. This pump bottle is not it. BPAL, please consider putting the lotion in jars, or a better container, in the future. That is the only way I can see myself buying it again.

Dirty, from their GC, has strong plumeria

I got this for the moonflower, but stayed for the lavender, which reminded me of my beloved Yvaine. The lavender is more prominent on my skin than any other note. It's not a perfect match to Yvaine but it's a sister. If you wanna vibe with the crystalline nights, On Houses is your jam.

To me it smells like I'm eating a bowl of Tom Kha at my favorite Thai restaurant, with some rice on the side. The rice is very faint.

19 minutes ago, alterosen said:I saw someone say Dahlia had a similar vibe in the reviews but I found it quite a bit sweeter. Worth trying though because it's great!
I said that ❤️ You're right, it isn't a perfect match, Dahlia has a metric ton of vanilla and Mama Ji is more floral. However I still stand by my opinion that the cardamom note is the same.
Does anyone need my nearly empty bottle of Mama Ji? I haven't thrown it out but I've traded away most of my NG scents because thinking of all the love poured into them by BPAL and then the evil of that man makes me beyond sad and blue 😰🩵💙 I've kept a few I couldn't bear to get rid of, but I don't display them and it's bittersweet

I've come to understand that in this scent, the rice is a background player. It mainly adds a faint starchiness, but it's also a little sweet. The white musk is the star here, and it's perfectly blended with the rice - you can't tell when one begins and the other ends. It's a swirl of warm simplicity.
Understated and beautiful.

This one is all about the toasted rice, and I'm here for it! The other notes are in the background, combining to make this sweet and delicious. I was unsure about the champaca, but it's blended really well. If you liked the toasted rice in Peach Sticky Rice you will like this one 🥰

If you liked Mama Ji but can't stand supporting NG, I get the same vibes from Dahlia. A sourness from the floral + cardamom combo from them both seems similar to me. This is also a more feminine amber, but has some similarities to Haunted. And the vanilla is the Antique Lace vanilla variety, but it's light. This is a cardamom and floral scent, with vanilla whispering in the background.

I was looking at this thread and how have I not reviewed this? Sugared coconut - warm, simple, and delicious. I needed a pick me up today and this was it! 😍

This is as good as you have been told. So sad it's LE. I have regular Dorian, but when I want an extra special sugary cream and tea aura I make my SO wear Dorian Suf.

Orange and sweet creamsicle on the surface, but this has a sweet aspect that's like a cookie or maybe a pastry. Maybe that's the honey? It's rich but also has that freesia kick.

With this one, I get some lavender mixed with the main component in Fleece Skeleton Onesie. If you loved the laundry-ish Fleece, you will surely have to try this.

This is wonderfully creamy and warm. The drydown reminds me of Boo. It has a warm spice note and the combo reminds me of a vanilla rice pudding.

If you're a fan of light florals, you'll like this one. The fig blends in and makes it a little more earthy, but the honey is the star of the show and you can tell it's floral. Wonderful!

If you happen to love black musk, which I do, you will love this one. Very similar to Haunted. The musk is front and center, lemony and bright, and the caramel is in the background and grounds it. Love.

It really does smell like all the best parts of the coconut. Tropical and sweet.

Peach and red bean paste?? I had to try this.
Suave Clarifying Shampoo once a day and 2-3 sprays of BPAL Hair Gloss on wet hair are all the products my hair gets these days. I have short curly hair. The oil works really well for my curls.
The red bean paste is earthy and warm. I don't know how you would know to pair red bean and peach, but it's an amazing combo.

True to it's name. I always get the mango sticky rice at our favorite Thai restaurant. This is it with peach instead of mango. This rice is warm and nutty and balances perfectly with the peach.
-
I only smelled the "roasted" component of this when I compared it to blends that had fresh peach. It's definitely 'cooked' peach in there. But it's still got enough life to stand up to the labdanum. I get the "velvet" quality too. There's something magical about the simplicity of these notes and how they play together so well. ✨️

Realistic peach, warm amber. Gorgeous, huffable, and stunning. I was commiserating with someone on Facebook who also wish they had got backups. I will treasure my bottle.

This is a wonderful clean floral, and the opium adds a touch of metal, mystery, and staying power. This was my favorite of the Our Lady of Pain line.
Hungry Ghost Moon: Tomato Leaf and Red Pepper

Planting Moon was my absolute favorite, but getting one's hands on a bottled proved tricky. This scent, Tomato Leaf and Red Pepper, is the closest to that Planting Moon smell, minus the dirt.
